  1. Turnovers, while correlated heavily with winning (by the mere fact that giving up lots of turnovers = a loss), don't automatically mean a win, contrary to your beliefs.
  2. No one's happy with a loss that shouldn't have been a loss. However, everyone thats being completely negative and jumping off of bridges is way overreacting.
  3. Bold Prediction.
  4. Wait, you mean the Bills shutdown the Pats' quick passing offense and forced them to attempt to win it with their biggest question mark on offense (the running backs)? Damn, you're right, this team and the coaching staff suck. [/sarcasm] You know, I can understand being disappointed with the loss. I, too, was sad that the Bills lost. But I can't help noticing the improvement this year over last year, and I'm not going to completely throw this team away because they gave up a lead against the best team in the division. Only 3 coaches in their debuts with their team's won today. Their opponents were Tennessee, Cleveland, and Denver. Only one out of the 3 was a decent opponent. I'm interested in seeing how JP performs after he gets some experience in a non-vanilla offense (aka preseason). I have the feeling that our offense when we meet New England in Buffalo in October is going to be a whole helluva lot different then what we saw today.
  5. You all need to relax. The Bills lost by 2 points. Two !@#$ing points against the Pats. - Coaching staff's first real game with the Bills - JP's 9th start in 3 years (in a brand new offense nontheless) - Brand new defense - Lots of new starters on the O-line and Defense. I don't understand how you all can be so negative given the circumstances and expectations of this team. Please explain how losing to the Pats by two god damn points is so bad, because I truly don't understand it.
  6. This is stupid. You are comparing apples to oranges, and declaring JP not the answer, based off of what exactly? A pretty decent performance versus a very good team for a young QB? Fez, Bledsoe's gone. Stop trying to disguise JP bashing threads by comparing him to Bledsoe. JP played much better then he did lsat year versus NE. This is the first game of his make or break season, and thats all that I would have asked of him. It will be a fun ride seeing if JP will be our QB this year, and I think he's off to an okay start. Declaring that he is not the answer is very early right now. He HAS improved from last year's performance versus NE.
  7. Colt played pretty bad I thought. He was constantly making poor decisions with the football and throwing into double/triple coverage. The series after he threw that pick, he threw it into the same exact coverage on the same exact route. That made me sick. There were plays where receivers were wide open and McCoy didn't see them. There were other plays where receivers were double/triple covered and he threw directly into them. My roommate had an interesting point: he looked way too much like Chris Simms for our comfort. I don't understand the freaking offense. They're still playing the same offense that Vince ran last year, and McCoy is NOT Vince. What the hell are they doing? 3rd and short, and they pass? 3rd and 15 and they run the option? I seriously thought that Texas was the Bills for a bit. Troy Smith didn't seem that impressive in the stands. However, Ginn most certaintly was. This whole damn game falls right on Greg Davis' shoulders. Dear Davis: When one of your running backs has 11 carries for 93 yards, you don't abandon the run. You don't ask a redshirt freshman to win the game. You don't keep running the option with a pocket passer at QB. The whole damn gameplan should have been to lineup in the I-formation, run the damn ball, and pass when necessary.
  8. First off, congrats to the Ohio State fans on this board for their win. You guys have a good team this year. All I can say is that this loss from my view of the field was disappointing. I can't help but pin this loss directly on Greg Davis and Mack Brown. Unsurprisingly, we ran just fine on Ohio State. Where I thought Texas was going to win was by running the ball up and down Ohio State's defense. And Texas could have and should have.... but didn't. The playcalling was ridiculous in this game, and I don't understand why so many passing plays were called. Taking an approach to have your first year QB win the game is absolutely stupid. Colt I think most likely had a worse performance because of this. There were so many times that he made bad decisions with the football that I lost count. I do think our defense could have (and should have) played better, mainly due to the secondary's poor showing. However, holding Ohio State to 24 points was about what I expected from the D. I miss Vince. While I knew I would miss him, I didn't think it'd be for the reason that I do. During his last year here, he was good enough to mask the poor decisions by this staff which had plauged Texas under Mack Brown. Unfortunately, that same crap continued. It reminds me of a Mike Mularkey run football team - abandon the run (even though its working), and have the secondary play 10 yards off the wide receivers. Congrats Ohio State. Your team is good enough to win the National Championship. I thought that we would be your toughest test this year, due to the runnign game and all, which we never used. The weakness is the run defense, so why we didn't continue running all over you guys still boggles my mind.
  9. Well I've never, ever seen campus this packed or crazy before. Its awesome here in Austin! Just wanted to say to the Buckeyes on here to have a fun game. I love the fact our two schools have the balls to do this. I'll be sitting behind the cannon that UT fires off, with my roommate, dad, and girlfriend. 3 rows up! I'll have my face painted and wearing an oragne wig, along with my dad & roommate. Anyway, its gonna be awesome, so have fun everyone, and I'll cya lata after Texas wins!
  10. This "age enhanced photograph" of another on the top 10 list is rather.... strange. http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/topten/fugitives/webb.htm
  11. I think Clements deserves it much more then Nathan !@#$in' Vasher (and this is coming from a Longhorn).
  12. holy crap my eyes
  13. I started off reading this article entitled Microsoft designs a school system. What they mentioned casually, though, was the price of the school. Why the hell can't other districts build schools this advanced for that much money? Look at Seattle, Microsoft's home. According to that article: Great use of money guys. More school districts need to take Philly's lead and have new schools be designed with new technology and better teaching techniques. To Philly: Congrats, you actually did something right for once.
  14. Oh, heh. I didn't bother to click on it given the descriptions of everyone, I thought you had stated that it was written as an editorial (in the editorial section). My badz.
  15. Daunte Culpepper at 37, ahaha. This list stinks. They are way undervaluing MLBs like Tatupu and Ray Lewis. I love how Jason Witten and Nathan Vasher make the list, but theres no Clements or Takeo.
  16. Uh, the guy that posted right above you did.
  17. Wait, its an editorial, but you expect it to be unbiased?
  18. I noticed a new feature today for all the ADD-challenged American's out there. http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/09/08/ira...t.ap/index.html Check it out, story highlights lawl
  19. I lol'd
  20. The best cheap liquor is Kentucky Deluxe. Seriously. Its 14 bucks for a handle of it, plastic bottle and all. My one friend who only drank dickel was out of whiskey and was forced to try it once. After he did, he always drank KD, because he actually liked the taste better. KD rocks.
  21. My favorite quote of the game was when Madden went: "I don't think Chris Chambers can beat Ike Taylor". 5 seconds later, Miami snaps the ball, short pass to Chambers who stiffarms Taylor to the ground.
  22. Nah. A real college student like myself drinks Natty Ice. More alcohol! Or Steel Reserve!
  23. I find it interesting that you use the term Cubans, Russians, or Swiss in your comparison. What exactly were the terrorists on 9/11 then?
