  1. Guess I should have included [/sarcasm] I was trying to be funny.
  2. What dave_b said. LBJ was instrumental in helping the civil rights movement. He broke the filibuster on the Civil Rights Act and strengthened it so that the justice dept could sue on behalf of blacks who were discriminated against. Without that provision, they wouldn't have had the resources to enforce the law. He also got the Voting Rights act passed, medicade/medicare, education spending increases, housing rights acts, and others.
  3. Stop being racist, not all black people look alike.
  4. Pelosi's always gotten heat from her San Fransisco base for being not liberal enough.
  5. Not on the Civil Rights and Voting Rights act. He made a mistake sending more American personnel into Vietnam though.
  6. Bart pretty much summed up my thoughts. If I was Rodriguez, with the way my team is playing and the situation I'm in, I stay where I am until I get a job that is going to put me in a decently easy position to win. It is "crappy" in the sense that right now I get the feeling that Alabama is a place where coaches like Rodriguez would have a much worse chance at winning than at WVU. If I was Rodriguez, I wouldn't want a job where the odds were stacked against me, especially since I already have one where everything is in my favor. Now, if it was, say, a hot OC/DC coordinator like Chizik or Shannon who was looking at it, then I'd say it is a pretty damn good opening and provides a better opportunity than most coordinators would receive. How attractive and strong a job is, at least in the case of head coaches, is relative to their current position.
  7. JFK also strengthened our position in Vietnam and started the attempt to get the Civil Rights Act of 64 and Voting Rights Act of 65 into law. Rumor has it shortly before his death JFK started to have his doubts about Vietnam and was considering pulling everyone out.
  8. lol, I'm sitting in the building right now on the UT Campus that was named after her father. 'Tis where my office is. Her father had another stupid name: Will C. Hogg
  9. Great move by Rodriguez, 'Bama is a really, really crappy job opening at this point.
  10. "Texas' track record in the pros doesn't hold a candle to Michigan's, ESPECIALLY on the offensive line". You were making a statement. He attacked the first part of the statement, not necessarily the offensive line part.
  11. Why is that, exactly?
  12. They are aiming to be an MMORPG in the fashion of freaking STAR WARS GALAXIES?
  13. I wish this part of that article had happened in Carolina.
  14. Poor Fezzy and his CISSP test. Did they ever say if it was early enough for you to make it home in time? Speaking of tests, I have one in half an hour.
  15. That site is so colorful it hurts my eyes
  16. How bout we use that aggression go kick the offensive line's ass instead?
  17. I think the first part of your post needs to keep in mind the 2nd part more. Americans can relate better to Americans, which is why that type of news sells more. Even if something does involve the US overseas, unless it is negative or inexpensive news to produce, we will not hear about it. Any Islamic actions which are positive and peaceful with the US won't get much media time simply because of how the media works.
  18. If not me, then who? AD? We were the only two pulling parallels to Christianity.
  19. Your blabbering has no relevance to my post at all. In fact, if you had bothered to read it, I made a parallel between the actions of a few in power during Christianity and the actions of the extremists (who are not the majority of muslims) of whats occurring with Islam at the present time. Furthermore, I made the point that the extremists and the ones in power are overrepresented by talk/the media/etc. Yet you continue to do nothing but lump all of Islam together.
  20. Those couple of yards would have helped a helluva lot in order to get a first down though. I'd think its more important to consistently give the offense short 3rd down tries rather than occasionally break a longer run.
  21. It is a lot more fun in person.
  22. I don't think anyone is saying that religion itself starts wars. Obviously, people are needed to make it happen. What I do think, though, is that using oppression and power to obtain false religious ends is a cause of lots of conflicts. The state and control of resources is in the hands of people who do this, and thus it happens.
  23. Probably the best steak I've ever had came here: http://www.austin360.com/restaurants/resta...?activity=16999
  24. Speaking of which, I forgot to tell the story I meant to. The morning of the race that I attended, I got to be in Michael Waltrip's VIP tent and get my picture taken with him. Was pretty fun. One of the things that he told us was that if he won, he would shave his head. He then proceeded to go out and win his first ever Daytona 500 (that was the day Dale Earnhardt was killed). Bastard never shaved his head.
  25. I used to live in Orlando, and got free tickets once in a while to the Pepsi 400 over in Daytona. Pretty fun to see in person, though I never actually watch it on TV.
