  1. 2 first round picks? Absolutely! Would do it in a heartbeat. As mentioned by others, 1st round picks are a crap shoot. With Mack you know exactly what your getting...a generational player. He’ll be a stud on your team for many years. The track record of 1st rounders league wide is poor at best, again with Mack you know exactly what you’re getting. As as far as $$$, our cap is looking good starting next year, so structure the deal to accommodate that. Stay under the cap this year, then take the hit next year and beyond.
  2. Not sure the line is as bad as they loooked. I know we lost Woods and Incognito. Don’t count Glenn as he was out most of last year. There were some jailbreaks on Allen, but he also held the ball a bit. Also, not sure how much game planning the team did. Would they have played better without generic blocking schemes? lastly, Castillo has a track record of being a poor o-line coach, so there’s room for an upgrade there.
  3. For me, it’s not about win now or win later. It’s about not getting Allen, or others injured because he doesnt have the command of the offense. What’s wrong with letting him sit? Other players sit all the time and learn how to be a pro. I want Allen to start for sure. Just don’t want to rush him if he’s not ready.
  4. No reason not to. Peterman is pretty serviceable and has played better than Allen this preseason. Much better stats, more productivity. There have been QB’s who have benefited from sitting, and others from being thrown to the wolves. If we had no other option, play him. Peterman is playing well enough to start. I was a proponent of starting Allen. After today, I have to change my mind. He is physically gifted and has the tools for greatness. Needs to let the game slow down a bit and make quicker decisions. I’ll support either regardless of who starts.
  5. Afraid of damaging him, mentally and physically. Never seemed to be down and out this game, kept swinging.
  6. Allen has the physical tools, needs the game to slow down a bit. Needs some time to sit and learn. Albeit, the o-line did him no favors with a few of the jailbreaks. He did cause some of the blocking issues with the slow release.
  7. How can the o-line be so bad? Know we lost Woods, but we shouldn’t be this bad. How awful.
  8. I know it’s preseason and game planning is thin. Holy smokes our secondary looks terrible.
  9. Did the yearly dance. Been with Directtv for about 15 years, and with AT&T cellular for 6 months. Asked for retention right off the bat, don’t haggle with the regulars reps, they can’t do anything. At first she offered me internet for $50/month and full boat ST Max with a $55 credit. Nope. Told her don’t want the internet. Spoke for about 5 minutes, and she came back with: ST Max - $65 per month $55 credit on bill for 12 months $5 credit per month on Cinemax Comes out out to a total of $300 credit over 12 months, with ST Max totally free. Did a bit better than last year when I called and they proactively had given me ST Max for free, no other credits. Thing is, some sort of credit is available for al DTV customers, whether it be MLB, NHL, or free movie channels. Just have to ask. I also call Time Warner/Spectrum yearly and ask for better rates, they also will offer credits. Most difficult is cell phone bills, but call every 6 months at least to see if there are better plans that’ll save you a couple of bucks.
  10. Week 1 and I’m concerned. Vanilla game plan in preseason. I hope....
  11. Allen has shown flashes of brilliance. Unbelievable arm strength, some pocket presence, command of the huddle. His potential is incredible. McCarron looked horrible last night, not as good as last week. Peterman looked OK, not as good as last week, but would start him over AJ in a minute. That being said, Allen isn’t As NFL ready as the other two, but you have to start him. Put him in next week for the first half, if not first 3 quarters. His few rookie plays a game are outweighed by his ability. Did I say that dudes arm is unbelievable? If he starts, the expectation can’t be the playoffs, 7-9 would be my guess. I’m fine with that.
  12. Thught it was hilarious when Tasker said “decisive decisiveness”
  13. Had seasons for a few years, loved going to the games. Browning Nagle was our QB at the time. Certainly not NFL football. Not defensive on purpose, wanted high scoring, long throws, acrobatic catches(falling over the boards), no run game. Would still have my seasons today if they stuck around. On on a side note, thankfully mark hamister didn’t get the Sabres they way he drove the destroyers out of town. Had great attendance for an OK team.
  14. Don’t recall the game, but he caught a ball down the right sideline stretched out and horizontal to the field. What I truly loved was knowing when the ball was handed off, he’d do his best to gain yards, and he did. When the ball was thrown to him, he’d do his best to catch and run, and did. Dont ever recall him taking any play off.
  15. Print is dead. We recently went from getting the whole week, to just Friday to Sunday. Had too many unread copies being tossed out. Only parts of the Buffalo News I care about are The Gusto and the Sunday paper. Find it funny when you read news that is 48 hours old by the time I get the paper. Actually forgot what I’m reading happened. I don’t need to read a paper that is full of MY opinions. I want a paper that has its own opinion, but is not biased. Never believed a newspaper should force their options on the readers.
  16. Kelly x2 (one w/o nameplate) Smerlas Bruce Hull Moulds McGahee Rob’s Johnson Bledsoe Milloy Flutie (NFL) Flutie (college) T. Spikes Owens Lynch Have a few non-bills players. Favorite is Jaworski I got for this last Super Bowl.
  17. Wow. Don’t care what good he has done for this franchise (which is debatable), but glad he “allegedly” has shown his true colors and has been shown the door. Find his statement interesting, either he truly didn’t do anything wrong, or is just a pathological liar.
  18. Interesting throwing motion. Reminds me of Philip Rivers with that torquing of his upper body when he throws. Gotta keep his feet planted though, almost looks like a pitcher more than a QB. kid seems like a baller.
  19. I believe our first round picks will have good NFL careers. Won’t know for a few years though, so can’t sit here and talk in absolutes they are boom OR bust. Aldo, can’t sit here and say a certain player would have been available if we picked in our original slots. Teams constantly jump other teams when they believe a player is coveted by another team. And who says those we missed on will pan out as productive NFL players??
