  1. I hope they don't move Teague to LT for he has improved tremendously at center and his ability to get to the second tier of defenses and find those athletic MLB will be key. I hope we can somehow get Shelton or at least re-sign Price for I would feel d@mn good about our line in the run blocking area; pass blocking would be questionable but with JP I think it will be OK for based on his college report he is use to playing under pressure. Now if we had a sitting duck that is strong in waiting in the pockett for a play to develop but lakes the awareness to step up and avoid the rush or make quick decisions such as Drew back there I'd be a little bit more worried. To put it short I don't think our line will be the downfall or has been the shortcoming of this team, the QB has. Once we find a QB who can feel the rush and make quick decisions and run an efficient short passing attack then our offense will flourish and Mould's might be an MVP candidate. I've been criticizing the Bill's playcalling for years wondering why we don't run more slants, crossing and timing routes that could take advantage of Mould's and Reed's running ability after the catch then I finally realized that just hasn't been the strength of any QB we have had since Kelly retired. We have had the run around create on the fly type in Flutie or the strong arm deep thrower in Drew but we haven't have a consistent, accurate quick throwing QB in the Brady/Montana mode. Hopefully JP can be a combination of all. Mark my words: if we have any shortcomings on offense next year it will be on the QB not the line for this line is more than adequate for a decent QB and the WR's/RB are definitely quality. It's like blaming the Falcons passing game/sack woe's on their line or WR's when in fact the blame lays squarely on Vick and his tendency to hold on to ball and not follow progressions quickly enough. Last year this team has all the pieces in place to be a contender: OUTSTANDING D and Special teams, GREAT Skill players; if they play like they did last year then the QB is the one who has to step his game up, unlike Drew did in 2004.
  2. I wish many on this board would remember those facts you just mentioned before they bash Henry...
  3. Just wait until McGahee contract is up and his agent ask for $7 mil a year...I'll bet he wouldn't sgn a team friendly (albeit stupid) deal like Henry did after rushing for 1400 yards 2 straight seasons; oh I forgot: Henry grew up a Buffalo Bills fan and his dream was to play for them; now it has become a nightmare!
  4. I guess you missed the point: it wasn't whether he was acquited or not but the fact that he, others, and you if you want to put yourself in the band are all @$$ho!es for harping on that case. So oh Henry is such a bad awful guy who should be thought of as a sex offender and you need to keep your young girls at bay because, he being 21 at the time slept with a girl who lied and said she was 18 when she was really 15. He made an honest mistake, get over it. Anyone who can't by the average person definition is an @$$Ho!e. It's one thing to have an opinion of him as a player (BTW a lot of you don't give him the credit he deserves) but we can't even have an honest discussion about Henry as a player without some @$$ho!e bringing up this BS, LET IT DIE AND LET'S TALK FOOTBALL!
  5. Before I even clicked on this post I figured an @$$ho!e like yourself and a few others would keep bringing up the 15 year old girl topic; just let it die! He was acquitted as the girl admitted she lied about her age. The only crime he is guilty of is a one night stand which plenty of guys on this site is guilty of if they had any game back in their younger days! It's a shame that every player that plays for us who leaves or has a bad game or two is bashed unmercifuly; When Moulds leaves I guess he always dropped balls, never got open, and had all his children running around. When Nate leaves he will be remember for not knocking down that ball against the Jags. Some who post on this board has no class whatsoever!
  6. I don't know why everybody keeps underestimating his ability to play tackle without seeing him in action. Ok he had substandard wonderlic scores and everybody assumes he is a moron and stupid. With his athletic ability for his size he might be a player for years to come at either tackle position. Think about it he is just a big kid who is naturally 320+. For those who want him at TE forget that. Why would you want a prospect who could be an average TE but have all the credentials to make a great LT. I'm not saying that he will be great or even good but let's give the guy a look before we make judgement. He is probably a better prospect than one we'd get in the 2nd round of this weak draft.
  7. Playing center is more than just being a mauler; since most teams play a 4-3 you need a center who can get to the next level and find the MLB. To put it short: Henry and McGahee seemed to do pretty good the past 3 years. Our problem has been a little pass protection and a slow setup, slow reaction QB. If we had the same line as last year but a quicker throwing QB such as Brady then there wouldn't be any discussion about the line, just like in New England where they don't have any standouts but production.
  8. I'm not a big fan of moving Teague to tackle; he improve tremendously last year at center and either he or Tucker could fill that position. Why weaken 2 positions on the OL? But we have saw Price come in at LT and fill in pretty well. Think about it: if Jennings is a great tackle worth a $12 million signing bonus why wasn't there such a big uproar when he got hurt and Price had to fill in, especially with a sack prone QB? The reason: he had shown he could get the job done. He may not be a set in stone LT but if you step in as a backup and block for Drew without too many complaints then your play is solid. People think we need a spectacular, Pro Bowl play at every position; this is not the case or possible. If we can get good solid play and cohesiveness then anything is possible. Look at the Pats; besides Law before he got hurt there is no one else on that team considered the best or even top 5 at their position. But even without him they won their second straight Super Bowl with just solid play.
  9. ..if the Shelton for Henry trade goes thru and we sign a quality 3rd WR or sign a TE such as Pollard. My biggest concern about LT is that JJ AND Price are on the market. Say what you want about Price but whenever he has stepped into the lineup we have not missed a beat, even with the leadfooted Bledsoe behind center as there was no more pressure coming from that side. I can only remember one game where Price played bad but otherwise he was solid. If he can be re-signed I'd be comfortable with him protected JP. If we can get Shelton that would be great for he could play tackle or guard. Another player we forget about and sleep on is Jason Peters; with the best OL coach's working with him this guy could be a nasty LT; think about it: he is 6-3 and a lean 334 and is athletic. If he ever gets his footwork down he could be a force. If we sign Pollard and get any production from the 3rd WR we will be fine. I think Reed will finally have a comeback year as he finally has a QB who can setup and get rid of the ball quick enough so that he can finally do what he does best: catch short routes over the middle and run after the catch. The same goes for Moulds as I have noticed that this aspect of the passing game has been missing in the Bills passing game because of Drew's slow setup and lack of touch of short timing routes. As far as the D goes, losing Pat will hurt but I think Edwards will step in fine. He will be more of a pass rushing threat than Pat but he must learn to tie up blockers more and look to make the play less. While we might have a dropoff on D it will not be major. With Vincent and Milloy healthy the whole season combined with Clements and an improving Mcghee our pass D will be awsome. Given Vincent's ability to man up we can keep offenses off balance. Some look at this season as being a rebuilding year because of a 2nd year QB; I look at it as a change from the source of our offensive woes: A slow thinking, slow footed QB who really sucked against good defenses. As long as JP doesn't lose games (like Drew did against good teams) or get hurt playing wreckless we will be fine and he will bring some excitement to the QB postion once again.
  10. It is good we have a few fans here who are REAL SUPPORTERS of the Bills! Some say they are not bashing him; calling him RJ, blaming him for getting hurt, or judging and questioning his talent after throwing FIVE passing is not predicting gloom then what is? Some moron bought up him throwing int at a %20 rate after throwing only 5 passes. So if you kid truns 16 gets his license, drives out 5 times and gets in a fneder bender do you expect them to have a wreck at a %20 rate for the rest of their life? It is bad enough when other fans doubt us but it is a CRIME when our own fans doubt us, especially when we have a young QB with talent and potential and not given him or us a chance to play before predicting gloom. What happens when he throws his first int; God knows if he plays well for 4-5 games and then gets hurt and all those bashers would come out and say I TOLD YOU SO or PJ=RJ. Like I said earlier: JUMP OFF THE SHIP NOW!
  11. I mean the kid hasn't played a meaningful down yet and some are already comparing him to RJ! Face while nobody knows what JP will turn out to be, it is sad that Bills fans would bash him before he even plays. Since we have endured 3 seasons with Drew and have saw him play that situation is up for debate. I for one know that Drew and his limitations have held this team back, especially in 2004. JP might not be the answer but Drew wasn't neither. If the D and special teams play as they did last year and unless JP throws a ton of picks (which I will give Drew credit for as he didn't throw many picks), how can you not believe that if JP plays average; AS DREW PLAYED IN 2004, how can there be much of a fall off? And if that is the case, why stick with an average QB as Drew? I don't want to get into a debate about Drew as he is history. But JP is the future and for a TRUE BILLS fan to diss the guy before he has played a game might as well jump ship now! As a matter of fact we should keep track of all such posters on this board and write their name on a list as being FAKE and FICKLE! To them JP would have to put up Peyton Manning type numbers and double Drews output to get any respect for they are the types who actually WANT JP to fail just to say I TOLD YOU SO; to all those types I'm TELLING YOU: JUMP SHIP NOW!!!
  12. Came up small? Of all our Super Bowls and so called SUPERSTARS, He and Bennett are the only ones who showed up and conributed every game. The game against Dallas he was the only player who even showed up. While he didn't play spectacular in the other SB he had 8,6,8, and 7 catches in all the Super Bowls. I mean he didn't get to big game, play way below his standard and CHOKE like Kelly and start throwing picks or forget his helmet and fumble like Thurman did! Now Bruce had a few moments, especially in the last Super Bowl against Dallas but he too came up small in the big game. So while Reed didn't DOMINATE every SB, you didn't see him playing uncharacteristically bad such as dropping easy catchable balls, fumbling, etc.
  13. What; he hadn't practiced for 5 weeks and was throw in without any gameplanning in mop up time during a blowout on the road. So would you give up on a player after a 5 minute showing as such?
  14. Think about it; during our winning streak what did Drew actually do besides just not LOSE the game? The only good game he had all year was against Miami. I mean Drew is the 25th best QB in the league based on most stats. I'm tired of making up excuses for his poor play. Now last year he lost Price and Jay and Moulds was hurt so I cut him so slack as while he threw only 10 TD's he only threw 11 picks and with the return of Moulds and the drafting of Evans he would surely match his 2002 production. NOT! Face it: Drew can not consistently WIN a game for us; he can go along with the flow but he can not carry this team to victory anymore unless he played for the 91 Redskins that had the hogs giving him 20+ seconds to sit there like a statue and hold the ball forever. Now if JPL doesn't throw a lot of picks who is to say the team wouldn't have had the same sucess during the 6 game winning streak. He would have at least ran for a few 1st downs. He could been like Ben Rothinberger in Pittsburg for as long as he doesn't turn the ball over the D and special teams could win and he could make a few plays here and there and gain playing experience that would make him ready next year. I mean what did we gain with Drew playing a similar role for we know his time is running out and we still have question marks about the QB position. If JPL doesn't start in 2005 we will have gained nothing for by this time next year we will be asking the same questions if Drew starts and plays like he has the past 2 season and by the time JPL takes rein the team will be close to rebuilding. With Willis, Lee, and Moulds we have the pieces in place to have an efficient offense all we need is the QB. I know a lot of Drew supporters blame the line but anybody who has watched the Bills play the past 3 years have saw that half of the sacks Drew takes is because he holds on to the ball too long without moving around or stepping up in the pocket showing little pocket awareness. Remember the Pats had the same issues with basically the same personell when Drew was QB until a lucky break 4 years and TWO possibly THREE SUPER BOWLS ago!
