  1. The best and worst thing about Hampton Roads (aka 7 cities) is that ot consist of 7 cities! Its next to impossible to get all 7 to agree on anything! If they were all united then you have potential to make this area a real power nationwide. The plus with that though is that you wont have one overzealous city leader force their agenda down your throat; it is what it is: one of the most balanced areas in the nation to reside! It is in the middle on most aspects (cost of living, urban development, country living, climate, entertainment, etc) that most consider as far as comfort of living. Bottom line if you are an extremist and nitpicky then you will hate Hampton Roads as you will be complaining about what it doesn't have. If you are from a small rural area then it will feel like a big city! Its like a step up from Applebees: too crappy for the buorguios type but good eating for the average joe!
  2. To play on a bunch of mediocre teams without an opposite outside rusher I think Schobel did an outstanding job; rather you like as a person or not (to those who hate the fact he has won't give you all his autograph!) Bottom line: if a player leaves the team without being cut; definitely under his own accord, he either sucks, is over rated, or won't be missed by at least 75% on board. If we bring in a scrub free agent/low draft pick on the cheap and he makes 1-2 plays then he will be graded as a homerun hit by 75% on board; JUST KEEPING IT REAL!
  3. And he is still twice as good as any QB we have on our roster! He has only played 4 years and while he hasn't tore the league up he has played as good or better than McNabb, Eli, Big Ben, or even Drew Bress did in their first few years but he didn't have the luxury of playing under one coach or in a single system. I mean who stunk it up more than Eli did until he got hot during the playoff run of their SB season? Big Ben team won in spite of him throwing all those picks a few years? McNabb still isn't good enough let the critics tell it; that is why he was shipped out! And Brees you know how that story ended! While I won't go out on a limb and say that Campbell will have the success of the above mentioned QB's, there are lot of big named QB's who have fared way worse than Campbell has his first 4 years (I could list way more)! The fact that he has progressed year after year is nothing to sneeze at and to discard him as trash because he isn't a Pro Bowl QB is ludicrous thinking. I think the turmoil and impatience of the Redskin organization to stick with a plan has more to do with their limited success than Campbells play did.
  4. I disagree....I'd take Campbell over any of the lower picks that we made. If we had obtained Campbell and not drafted Eisley or Wang i could live with that. I mean if we had drafted Lefleur, Pike, or Brown in the 4th round would anybody complain? Campbell is better than those guys with better attributes and would at a minimum give us a proven efficient Qb with upside. If we play solid D and establish a running game, Campbell in his present state while he won't win many games he wouldn't lose many either; I can't say the same for the rest of our QB's. But I think he will get better, especially if he played in a consistent system for more than a year! But if he doesn't but plays at the same consistent level, we could draft or bring in a replacement and at least be competitive while we build a contender.
  5. The point is that we COULD have gotten Gailey as an offensive coordinator as nobody wanted him and he wanted to get back in the NFL! If Weis can come back as a coordinator then Gailey definitely would! I don't understand this "love" for Gailey as if he was a hot commodity that we wanted all along! I have said numerous times in this tread that I will give him a chance but don't try to over hype and sell this retread to me as a good hire - CHILD PLEASE!
  6. OK you didn't say great; does that make you happy? You were however trying to sell Gailey accolades like this is was a good hire. It might prove to be but from the oneset it is about as good as Jauron's hire: hiring a retread coach who has had little success; a least give Fraizer a chance to fail - as a head coach! I as many would be more willing to give a rookie coach or QB more slack than a proven retread - at losing! Bottom line: I'll give Gailey a chance and we'll see in 2010 but if we had not rushed we probably could have gotten a better option.
  7. I'm willing to give Gailey a shot but please don't drink One Bills Drive kool aid and try to sale this hire to me as being a great one! Its like trying to sell Kyle Orton to me as being the answer to the Bills woes at QB: It might work out, I'd give him a try but it definitely is not a great move by any means more than it is a reach that you hope works out!
  8. EXACTLY! If Chan is great enough to be a head coach that can rescue the Bills then having a D coordinator such as Frazier (or I'd kept Fewell!) would have given us a btter combo but time will tell. I'm not bashing Chan (I'm willing to give him a chance!) as much as I think we could have gotten more bang for the buck. Its like picking a player in the 1st round that you could have had gotten in the 2nd or 3rd!
  9. Who knows; Gailey might be a hit as well. But while they wanted a coach with previous head coaching experience, Gailey is not what most had in mind! While I am not anti-Gailey and will give him a chance, Frazier would have been a much better sale and we could have hired a good offensive coordinator (I could have settled for Gailey). We will see in 2010.
  10. If it wasn't for turnovers the Saints wouldn't have scored but 2 TD's! He had his team ready. Overall, no matter what, he would have been a better sale at head coach than Gailey; especially after this game!
  11. If the Bills had waited, Frazier would have been a much better sale than Gailey (Chan could have been the O-coordinator no problem though!)
  12. You guys are tripping! Besides 1-2 plays Ware barely touched McNabb in 3 games against Peters! McNabb got mostly coverage sacks as he had all day to throw the ball and when he was pressured it was from the other side. Give Peters a rest and move on!
  13. Most Bills fans did as well...remember we have enough smurf WR and we don't need another...we need a big target blah, blah, blah!
  14. Come on man...just admit that the guy is good and give him his props! Every game I watch of Philly's I am jealous! Sure just like here with the Bills he might get beat once a game and the haters would point that out. But for 99% of the plays he locks his man down one on one on an island and you don't hear from them. Ask Demarcus Ware, Julius Peppers or Osi how hard JP is to beat! Watch the tape; the whole game UNBIAS and then talk.
  15. Amen brotha preach on! Yeah Peters was so bad and lazy that he made his third straight Pro Bowl - two with the Buffalo Bills I might add!
  16. Neither one of us were there or know anybody close to the story enough to knwo what was going on. There hasn't been much detail but a lot of speculation.Since you don't know save the political BS for another day...at least until the facts come out!
  17. piss-poor twist at political humor! What if that was your son who died; no matter how big of an @$$hole he could have been you'd feel sadden. So save your comments and show some compassion for once in your life!
  18. Exactly; a switch to a 3-4 will set the Bills back 3-4 years! Our weakness is LB's and stout 2 gap DT; why change to a scheme that emphasizes this? We could excell in the 4-3 with a change in philosophy - less read and react ,more attack. Also we need bigger, stouter LBs who can fill a hole, take on and shed blocks. We could use more stout DTs to use in our rotation but honestly the poor run defense is due more to LB play as they consistenly over run the play and lose their gap containment. I think our secondary will be stacked next year - Florence is our best coverage DB and if McKlevin can recover from injury he and McGee can fight it out for the other side while Corner is a beast at slot coverage but a bust on the outside. We are stacked at safety; while I am not a Whitner basher like most but if we can save salary he can be cut because honestly Byrd, Scott, and Wilson can fill the role. But cutting WHitner just for sake would be stupid as injury can happen as we well know and he can honestly play both saftey positions as well as fill in nickleback; Byrd and Scott are not as interchangable at safety.

  20. I hope I'm wrong as I don't want to give up on young players too quick but our draft would have looked pretyy good - except for the Maybin Pick. Orakpo or Oher would have looked good in Bills uniforms. Initially I like others fell in love with FSU Brown highlights that reminded me of Dwight Freeny and badly wanted to see him here and was pissed we passed him over for Byrd. But every once in a while this Bills team proves us wrong; lets hope it happens with Maybin. I just don't see him being a 4-3 DE in the NFL. While he can definitely add lower body strength, his frame looks maxed. Orakpo had an NFL build for a 4-3 DE with the ability to play OLB. Lets hope Maybin can improve or he is better utilized for as of right now I don't see Mario Williams out of Maybin as I just don't see the potential.
  21. No Peters is a fat, overrated greedy MF who was just looking for a big payday and look at his stats he is no better than BEll...blah..blah.. BLAH! And Walker is a dough boy who doesn't look the part and is out of shape and couldn't keep up with the no-huddle offense we scrapped..blah blah BLAH! Like I said in the offseason: for those who bashed J Peters unrelentlessly and over analysized every fricken mistake he made, you must have forgotten the revolving door type we had at the position for years! For those who says he wouldn't have been happy here... SO WHAT???? We had him under contract with 2,3 years left and he had no alternative but to show up and play! Peppers, Ocho Cinco,A Boldin, Brandon Marshall all were unhappy campers with their squadsand wanted to be paid or traded but guess what... they either played or sat at home...guess what they played! And after his contract is up franchise his @$s! The pass protection has not been that bad the past 2 years. The run blocking sucked but our QBs kept taking coverage sack after coverage sack because they couldn't get anybody open. Now they don't have the time to find anybody. Think about where this team would be if we had kept both JP and Walker at tackle and at a minimum resigned Big Pat and London Fletcher...we'd be contenders that's for sure!
  22. Dont forget about Culpepper; he could possibly turn his career around with Lee and T.O. As long as he has targets he can still wing it. He is better than 99% of the QB's on the list in this post.
  23. YOU LIE! Last year there were plenty of times where Trent or JP had all day in the pocket sitting there patting the ball and everybody was wondering WTF! Many of the sacks we gave up were either coverage sacks or a few missed assignments but overall the pass protection was adequate; now the run blocking was a different story. The difference between this line and the one from 09 shown SO FAR is the versatility. There is no way we could run as many toss and outside runs with last years group because Dockery and Walker could not block on the move. The middle of the line couldn't establish a push for the inside running game. So even though we had the largest O-line we couldn't run the ball; this O-line is better equip to carry out the zone blocking scheme and get to the next level that the staff wants. That combined with the ability to run screens gives us way more options to keep the D off balance.
  24. How is that so great? It just reinterates my point: the Pat PLAYERS made plays when it counted! Our four man rush didn't which allowed the Pats to get the crucial TD drive.
  25. At least someone has insight on this board. IF he doesn't fumble, the Pats don't have the 2 minute warning and IF we run the ball 3 striaght times for no gain the Pats wouldn't have any timeouts needed to go at least 60 yards with NO timeouts IF they could stop us. IF we gain a 1st down game over. The only fault I have in McKleivin is fumbling for even though he hesistated he got past the 20 yard line. If he had hestitated and got stopped inside the 10 I'd be more mad with him then as IF we had gotten stopped the Pats would have good field position but still no timeouts. Who knows; the offense probably would have turned the ball over anyway; shades of JP against the Jets running in my head!
