What is better, no guns, or more guns?
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I think I would apply the analysis that many in the msm and twittesphere apply to law enforcement every day. clearly, the crowd was in no danger. in fact, the couple was in no danger, either. not no one was in danger, so i really don't know what the fuss is. everyone goes home, let's leave it up to a certified counselor to (wo)mansplain to each party involved how this really is an opportunity for growth. -
Republicans Are All As Corrupt As Trump
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Kemp's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don’t know Idaho. I know many democrats and while I don’t understand much of what they believe in, they’re not the prolific doinkwad that this poster is. He seems angry and ultra committed to doinkishness. -

What about you causes you to be such an insufferable doink to others? ? -
"I'll ***** you outta that whip!". ? This, after he overruns the guy who's about 3 feet wide, ends up on his ass, then rolls up with two "just-in-case" buddies, threatening the man who's got to worry about himself and the young lady with him who appears to be his daughter. Then, he breaks into some type of ritualistic mating dance like an albino peacock, all before screeching with a voice that sounds like he's still 3 months out from puberty that the other guy is a the p***** . It would all be funny, if not for the little girl who surely walks away feeling less safe, targeted and bullied by some random turd. The only solace here is that it's quite likely at some point, this a******* pushes someone who pushes back.

I look at this and see some very, very bad math for the police. There are enough anarchists in the crowd to inspire enough well-intentioned citizens to put their lives on the line, with enough funding behind them to cause significant carnage at round 2, 3 or 4. As this evolves, and attacks on officers in the street continue to escalate, it’s a matter of time before officers simply move on to other endeavors.

Probably, but you have to repaint the side of the truck. The devil is in the details.

I spent about 6 weeks in Minneapolis a number of years ago. I loved the city, the people were awesome and the lakes beautiful. If the opportunity had come around to visit, I’d have taken my wife and children there in a heartbeat (though my wife kept telling friends I was in Michigan). Now? No thanks. Btw there are a lot of lakes in Minny...I bet there are easily 2500.

They are going to replace the Department of Police with a new unit called “The Department of Community Safety and Violence Prevention” and staff it with Peace Officers? How many meetings before the retired stoner with the man bun who is designated “Second Associate Director of Community Goodness” suggests without a hint of irony: “Guys...we need people to know who works for the Minneapolis DOCSVP...let’s get them in costumes and cars that are easily identifiable!”.

Ok. Thanks for the explanation.

Interesting. What 'sensationalism' as an example? Agree on DR.

And certainly would never suggest he could be improved upon.

I think erroneous predictive ban hypothesis modeling is, in and of itself, ban worthy. On the other hand, scrubbing the aforementioned hypothethis to make it appear as if it never happened is, however, acceptable and preferable in the current sociopolitical climate, so I think banning you could create unforeseen liability issues. I am torn on how to proceed and wish not to hurt any feelings. Let's get feedback from @Koko78, attorney extraordinaire, resident legal meanie and fat shamer.

No. She told me that in this world, the most important thing is to be yourself, and in my case, I just needed to be handsome.
-
Jesus, it's not just that people think I'm fat and I was unaware, now I can't keep track of who is whom. I remember reading about this photo fiasco, and applaud your willingness to participate. Again, I think the poster who did it, and I can't recall who(m), displayed a creepy fascination about your particular situation. For the record, contrary to what the spiteful and mean-spirited @Koko78 would have all believe, I'm exceedingly handsome. I should probably be embarrassed to reveal that, but I caught my reflection in my mobile device and realized that by sharing my good fortune, I may in some small way brighten the days of all y'all.
-
Wait...people think I'm fat???

Jeesh. Last night I'm contemplating how a poster can be proud of creepy, stalkerish behavior as he brags about his creepy, stalkerish behavior, I go to bed, wake up and find a guy who generally exhibits tremendous tolerance and patience in fielding attacks against him (perhaps some valid in the mind of the other poster, some clearly not) banned for 30 days. I read the comments from the site owner on the other link before it was locked down, the benchmark seems reasonable enough but obviously many posts here (and frankly, on the main board) seem contrary to the principle. Admittedly, a mod could lock down posters every day. Here's the funny thing--back in the Kiko Alonzo days, I was assessed a warning point for a comment made to another poster. Generally in life, I am a follower of rules. When I saw the warning point, and in consideration of some of the flat out hostile %$#@ I see posted about football issues, I was surprised. I reached out, the moderator explained his thinking and while I still didn't understand, I reached out to the poster I had reacted to and we laughed about it. Good guy, I explained my humor and off we went. His initial reply was "What did you post?". That warning point has been like an anchor around my soul ever since, especially after I started interacting on PPP. ? I am a huge fan of the time and effort Greg puts in on this site, and like to remind non-believers that he's been right substantially more often than not. I have no idea what was said or done, and I'm comfortable waiting for his thoughts on whether or not he would have liked to have that post back after the dust has settled. One thing of note--I know he posted a mock up of an ex-prez with a mug shot vibe yesterday, I was wondering if that was what had him being sent to the sin bin. Glad to hear that was not the case--though I was not a fan of that particular post. Consider this my note to @Deranged Rhino 30 days hence:

Trump and Russia
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yeesh my man you’re going backwards here. You have the US congress, a dozen angry career prosecutors, doors kicked in, people hauled off to the gulag because they had a relationship with the president, and 400 page document prepared by a mortal enemy to the sitting president and you’re resorting to swimming analogies and apparently advocating for “Trial by feelz” standard for Presidential investigations. This is sad. -
That’s priceless. Some poor young lady who just wants to talk about Cole Beasley, Stefon Diggs and separation in 2020 keeps getting blown up by someone she surely feels is a serial stalker.

Have a Good Song That Clocks in Under 3:00 Long?
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to T&C's topic in Off the Wall
I don’t have a song to add, but the other day a song came on Sirius and on my display, this album cover was posted in unreasonably high def. I have never had acid thrown on me, but I imagine it you do, it hurts and leaves you scarred. This album cover had that impact on me, and this thread reminded me of my pain. Misery loves company.
