I live 5 min from the stadium so take my word for it. The storm is expected to end today. They will have 3 days to get rid of the snow. We have about 15-20 inches. West Seneca and South Buffalo got it the worst, they probably have double what we got

I don’t know where you are but I’m five minutes from the stadium and we have easily four feet of snow here.

What kind of snowblower is it? Is it the belt or is it the wire from the handle to tighten or loosen the belt? I'm no expert but snowblowers are typically pretty easy to fix. I fixed one last week for someone where the belt was slipping and it was because something was caught in the auger and not allowing it to spin freely. I think a lot of people are in similar situations and your best bet is fixing the snowblower and being self sufficient again. You might get a snowplow today but how about tomorrow?

Good point.  Trying thawing the snowblower and then see what happens.

I go to a handful of games annually.  Lucked out and got tickets with parking in Lot 1 for Sunday's game.  I'm not sure if this belongs here of OTW.  If it gets shut down, I understand.  Is there a better way of getting to/from the stadium from Rochester than I-90 and exiting at Mile Strip or one of the other exits off I-90? Thank you.

Yes I could not believe what the parking attendant told me what the cost for parking would be at corner of SW and Abbott rd would be. Yes I understand that a property owner can charge what the market will tolerate but come on talk about screwing Bills fans.

Parking was at a premium with all of the snow but this business took it to bills fans.

Was that the KK food mart? Or the Mobil?  I wouldn’t patronize either of those businesses.

Still don’t understand people saying this. Unless I’m wrong about the wind a 49 yard kick is pretty close to a chip shot in today’s NFL. If you can trust your kicker to hit that you need a new kicker.

Because bass had low trajectory on three kicks prior to that point.  He was not hitting it well today.

Bass can’t kick FG not sure I want him punting too

Trajectory was low tonight.  I think he struggled with footing.  Was the last one blocked or shanked?  Couldn’t tell from where I was in the stadium,

Yeah, that's not how heavy sprains work in the NFL. If it was bad enough that they had to put him in an air cast and on a cart, it's really good news it's a Sprain. But severe High Ankle Sprains keep NFL players on the sidelines for Weeks.

You don't "tape it up" and have full mobility in 6 days.

I just got home from the game and I’m very surprised it wasn’t a break.  He was writhing and I saw the air cast get inflated.   Good brews that it’s not a break.

Martin punted early in the second half.  I doubt he’s out next week.

He struggled in warmups during the break.  But it was huge he gutted it out.   Bass is the emergency punter, and it was taking him a loooong time to hit it after receiving the snaps from Ferguson,

Looks like Martin has a boo boo. Do we have Punt God on speed dial?

Anyone worried about the FG holding, Bass can't make a kick anyhow.

    Haack is a FA, right?

Blizzard conditions were certainly forecasted before today, when hard decisions needed to be made. And in speaking to people in OP today, the conditions were met. Whether the NWS qualifies as such remains to be seen. But if you insist in quibbling over a few miles an hour of wind, feel free. But there is nothing ordinary about the weather conditions at the stadium today.

    Oh yeah.  They were met.

That was the worst snow game in Bills history. (For real:  https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2024/01/12/buffalo-bills-vs-pittsburgh-steelers-weather-sunday-daunting-previous-playoff-games/72203328007/)

I recall that the method the grounds crew meant to use to clear the field that day ended up failing. They had a large machine that had a spinning brush to throw snow, but it ended up throwing rubber (the field) with it. That was a significant contributor to the field conditions that day.

The Bills went on to beat Miami the next week after that same snowy Colts game. So, getting back to the original point, I’m still not buying it.

The spinning brushes fiasco was Pittsburgh 2015.

I pull in 2 hours before the game ever game and will do the same tomorrow. Better get there early if you anticipate an issue. I don’t.

You will be late to your seat.  Three feet of snow = far fewer parking spots available.

Is it pretty straightforward to find the busses etc. Like are their signs directing you once you get towards the mall?

I don’t know.  I’ve never taken it.  It’s a new thing done to accommodate those who might have otherwise parked in the ECC log where the new stadium is going.

  14. 15 minutes ago, PBF81 said:

The other thing is that how are they going to get all the snow out of the seats in the stadium?

Time is far shorter than it typically is they have a little over 12 hours from now.  Not sure that's gonna happen either.

They aren’t.  Grin and bear it.  Snow gets shoveled down and taken out through the field by hauler.  At some point they have to get the field open for the game.  When that happens, it’s over and the seats are in ten condition they’ll be in for the game.

Taking into account all the comments in this thread, it sounds like there’s not going to be enough parking spots to accommodate everyone who shows up to watch the game. That is going to totally suck for people who have nowhere to park. Sounds like the Bills need to set up some satellite lots and provide buses to shuttle people to the stadium. Anybody know if they’re planning to do this?

There is one such lot.  The McKinley mall.   Erie county provides a metro bus back and forth from the mall.  I think it’s five bucks. Totally worth it.

And even those yards that are cleared, it's likely to be a mudpit. Wouldn't attempt it without 4wd. Temporarily parked a truck in my yard two days ago and the ground is so muddy that I cant get it to move.

I can tell you that due to the stadium being built across the street, the stadium lots filled up much quicker than usual this season. I would advise arriving by 10:00am if you want to guarantee a stadium spot.

Alternatively, purchase a "preferred" parking lot pass online before you leave tomorrow. That lot never fills up. Such a waste.

Edit: forgot the game is at 4:30 - not 1pm. Instead of 10am, I would say arrive by 1pm or 1:30pm.

This.  Be really early.  Even if you have to Sit in the car for a bit. It’s going to be a mess.

I normally park in someone’s yard on Big Tree. With the storm I imagine almost all of the parking around the stadium will be closed. Are the Bills going to have their entire parking lot plowed enough to fit all of the cars?

No and good luck.  Satellites lots are probably going to be closed.

Polencarz  just said the northtowns will be lifting the driving ban. But  no travel to the south.  He said it is still coming down at 5"'/hr at the stadium and that  there is about 24-30" on the ground there.

It’s hard to be definitive about accumulation with the wind.  It’s still horrible here in OP.

Nuch, I’ve taken so much heat here over this and other posts I have made about a 1 pm Monday kickoff time, like I am some sort of d*** for even suggesting the idea.

I am some sort of d***, but not for these posts.

Objectively 4:30p is better because it offers more time to clear the snow and still allows for a daylight arrival.

While I still think they should have built a dome, and know that has nothing to do with this, putting it in an area that tends to get slammed with lake effect snow seems like a rather questionable decision. Unless that's not really the case and there wasn't really a better location in the Buffalo area.

There wasn’t.  They did all of the site studies.  This was it.
