Welcome to LT Mr. Van Denmark. A little bit of me thought this could happen. I’m not mad at it. He’s been very good for us but getting older and more expensive totally understandable
Why would it be Van Demark if Dawkins left? Look at it this way - there were some who thought about extending Dawkins this offseason. Perhaps the Bills looked at his dietary issue last year and didn’t trust him with an extension. And, perhaps, in view of said dietary issue they preferred to spend those dollars on a younger, perhaps better model at that position. It’s time to get cold and calculating about this roster, and that would be one way to do it.

what? Diggs has 100 yards and 0 TD’s in the 3 playoff games against KC combined
That’s a shame. Could have increased it by 60 this year if he simply caught that dime.

Does he have anything left? I know nothing about his play the last three years.
See above re his destruction of our IOL in the Bengals divisional round disaster.

They can get the intel in him from trubisky. Not so sure it will be good

Believe me, we have a couple of knuckleheads here. He wouldn’t be alone in that respect if he came here.

Does not matter, they just signed a very capable backup QB. We need a punter who can flip the field and neither Hacck or Martin are the guy
What does that have to do with holding?

Bringing back Haack is a loser move, the guy has a weak leg and has no business being on the Bills. This has McDermott's high character guy connection to it, just draft a kid with one of the many late rounders the Bills have. Martin and Hacck are garbage and Bills need to move forward
He also is a holder.

Get to 40 mil in space and take a big swing.
Chris Jones
Christian Wilkins (camp fights with Josh)
DJ Reader
Leonard Williams
+ Re-sign DQ.
Derrick Henry if he doesn’t sign with Ravens
CB Jaylon Johnson? only 24
We tried to acquire him at the trade deadline.That would be super intriguing. Benford or Rasul could move to Safety

I know it's totally unrealistic and probably a bad idea in the long run, but man I'd like to see them take a run at Chris Jones. He is the straw that stirs that drink.

Still believe that teams could essentially eliminate the need for special team coverage "specialists" by kicking every kickoff out of EZ and punting oob. To me it is such an unnecessary waste of a roster spot.
Can't always punt it out of bounds, but can juice the hang time. Notice that Haack came back on the same day. Might be part of the plan. Elite holder, been here before, and hits a lot of "wedges."

Unfortunately but necessary. Benford and Douglas took his spot. Elam as #3 next year. Mid-round rookie/Ingram and we're there at that position. And, we'll likely use his money to sign our draft class.

I agree with Steve Smith, Jeudy is average. No thanks
Jeudy also strikes me as unfocused and kind of dumb. I'm with you. I want guys who are ultra competitive.

Again, another "Nothing to see here" post. Some of us are not amazed by Beanes Wizardry, or ignore the bad things with the Bills. Araiza to Chiefs, no big deal, Hines cut, no big deal, Bates traded, no big deal. Here's the thing....they all do matter no matter how much you want fo ignore it
So what would you have done? He's not perfect, but so too is it that nobody is perfect. And, sometimes these mid-roster moves don't work out. If you're blaming Beane for swinging big on Miller and missing, which in turn has prompted some of these issues, that's fine. He took a swing and missed. I don't mind, but I understand the complaint.
The response to your beefs about Bates and Hines, for example, is that maybe Beane found guys who took their spots. Hines was brought here to provide speed. Turns out that, after he fell off his ski-doo, Cook turned into a star and basically engulfed his role on offense. And, maybe it is that Anderson showed a lot of promise in camp and took Bates's spot. Bates certainly didn't take Morse's spot, or Torrence's spot, and sometimes this roster evolution happens.

Remember when we traded Wyatt for a late pick? How did that turn out?
Not saying Bates is the next Wyatt but man it’s rough to see decent oline guys go
I hope for Bates's sake that he is the next Wyatt Teller. We've had quite a bit of time for that to come to pass, though, and it hasn't happened.

1. It can be converted into players.
2. A draft pick in the same round is worth more this year, than next year.
Because of the way a cap hit can be pushed to future years (but eventually the bill comes due), I always look at total cap space saved - this year and in the future. Say we only save 1.4M this year, but 5M overall. That 3.6M we save in 2025 is still valuable. It allows us to possibly restructure another contract and push more money into next year. If we don't, then it helps us next year.
I get that we have to have the other contract to restructure and I get that we could do it anyway without the trade and just make our cap situation worse in 2025. Cap space this year is always worth more, but cap space in the future always has value - like draft picks.
Here's what it probably means:
1. Morse will return;
2. Alec Anderson graduates onto the game-day roster;
3. There is a nominal cap savings (Anderson's replacement is cheaper than Bates);
4. Beane has a little extra capital to burn on something like a trade up, or a special teams option (gotta replace Matakevich and maybe Siran Neal), or a Bates replacement, or a "one special trait" guy, or whatever he desires as we try to get the roster a bit younger.

Going to be a lot if stuff we don't want to see this year. Beane really has us backed in a corner no matter how you want to paint the cap picture
This really isn't a huge deal. At some point we have to trust younger guys. It appears that we're going to trust younger guys (Anderson, specifically) as IOL backups. Maybe Edwards stays, maybe he doesn't. But Anderson moves into Bates's spot, and someone young and cheap will move into Anderson's spot.
2 hours ago, GunnerBill said:Yep. I do think them liking Anderson as a similar cheaper version is a factor but mainly it tells me Morse is here for 2024.
Agreed. Morse likely stays. We likely see some movement on Hyde in the next few days, too. He's in town.

No I'm not. I'm acting like this is typical, repeat behavior of a vile person.
And apparently the only person on TBD that thinks so. Yikes.
Again, its a civil case. He allegedly went after her and knocked her down and injured her. No real charges to press. He feels good about being a big, strong, tough guy who can knock around a woman. But he should probably pay for her medical bills too.
And he's a scum bag. And a Dolphin.
Irrespective of whether this allegation is true, Hill is a scumbag. And, in the court of public opinion, one would think that he has lost the benefit of the doubt. I'll add only that this allegation is completely on-brand for this guy.

Struggling with personal responsibility again and again. You're the damn parent, quitting making "the state" responsible for your kiddo. Every parent of every child received a letter informing them of the outbreak, telling them that it's up to them whether or not their child gets vaccinated, or whether an unvaccinated child stays home from school after getting exposed.
I didn’t say that I thought it was a good idea, or that it had merit, or that I agreed. You asked for a basis for such an action, and I gave it to you.

What basis would the parents have to sue? They are the party that didn't get their child vaccinated, right?
Negligent misrepresentation.

One of the best RBs I’ve seen play in person. Tough, quick, plays fast. Probably thicker than Cook. But also entering year 8.
