  1. That is correct..his rights cannot be traded now. He can be signed and then traded, but then the Chargers are eating his bonus..so aint gunna happen. Back in draft next year is his only option outside Chargers this year
  2. does window open at 12:01 AM? Have to say i am in the group that says "if he was going to sign with Sabres, He would have already"..so not expecting him to be a Sabre.
  3. but those others were when rookie holdouts were common...not when teams have their entire class signed a week after the draft. To me, the Chargers are all in the wrong here, unless i am misunderstanding something. He is just asking for what everyone in the top 5 gets in terms of offset and timing of bonus right? Why should the Chargers expect to get something different than the rest of league? Am i missing something?
  4. And for some reason you cannot comprehend how that is good business.
  5. And that is exactly what they are doing....so not sure what your qualm is? Do you not see guys renegotiate all the time in the last year of their contract? And he is still, by far, the lowest paid starter in the league that's not on their rookie deal. And he is on a one year deal Bitching about this is just having blinders on and wanting to B word...there is no downside to this deal...none!
  6. I think Gilmore has stated no negotiations during the season...but that can always change if the money is right
  7. Tyrod actually gets an extra $10M first two years if he kept his original deal and played under the tag next...ala Kirk Cousins. Brock cashed in because Von Miller was a free agent as well, and Denver used the tag on him instead of Brock. As it is, Brock essentially has a two-year deal at less then tag money...not breaking the bank as everyone keeps saying. If he sucks first two years, Texans release with not much cap hit. So his cash in was essentially one year at slightly less then tag money. And i agree 100% on the other guys playing on rookie contracts..4-year(really 5) evaluation instead of 1 year, or 5 games like Brock. That's why neither of those guys got crazy money..they got prove it contracts in line with their experience, and the team gets them at good money if they prove it.
  8. All I can say is this...I got the Jags at 40-1 winning the AFC....I put $100 on it. I would not take $300 for that ticket right now.
  9. You do get on there under two conditions 1) MSG is considered your " regional sport package " 2) you pay for center ice. I pay the $ 13 a month cause I like the pre and post games.
  10. Just the opposite I think...players freaking hate being tagged cause their leverage in a violent game goes to next to nil, forcing them to sign a below market deal. Why it's good for the team to use, sucks for the players. Gilmore will be tagged if they want to keep him, and will sign a deal before July 15 , again, all if the Bills want to keep him.
  11. I remember how it worked with Glenn!
  12. Agreed on the long term deal...but he trades that for short term (3 years) security. Actually a better deal the Osweiller
  13. Exactly! Keep hearing the phrase " Tyrod is betting on himself". He is not...he took the best deal available to him If he was betting on himself, he does not sign this.
  14. Jimmy did not mean you in specific...just the general takes out there. Been hearing this a lot
  15. Absolutely, and that's why it's a win / win for both parties.
  16. Disagree 100% on this. More times than not , like prolly over 95%, results in a team and a player coming to an agreement . Sucks for the players, they know it..gets a deal done.
  17. How did he leave money on the table? I want someone to explain that to me. Play out the scenarios with the tag in Mind. He comes out ahead in this deal in every conceivable way... This is like Ralph voting against the CBA and everyone saying he was an idiot..until he wasn't. Everyone saying TT was dumb to sign this in a weeks time will realize it was a great deal for him.
  18. I am not buying this at face value....none of us know what TT wants. Forget what he says to the public. This was a great deal for TT considering his leverage was small, and the Bills still had the Tag available. This was not a deal he did to make it team friendly, it was a deal that was a great deal for him to sign. And Brady takes less cause his is the secondary income in the family...easy to do when your spouse makes $50m a year.
  19. Agreed , but he still gets $37m in first two years as opposed to $25m ( assuming $22mtag #) without this deal. Cap hit completely different than cash..as we all know! As Ross Tucker said, no brainier for him to sign it. These talking head knuckleheads conveniently leave the Tag option out of the equation when saying TT was dumb to sign this offer. I must say, thought his agent was a tool and out of his league when he made rhe comments earlier in the offseason, but I think he did a brilliant job for his client here. And, has E pointed, good for the Bills tol
  20. Win on the road for the good guys. Match ups ..TSizzle vs the right side of our line LaDarius Webb vs Clay if they scheme that way Sammy vs the DB across from him Our Safties vs Flacco How we win: Like most, I think we will need to win with offense this year. Control the clock and ball with a controlled passing game plan that features a ton of Clay and Sammy passes in space. Throw in Shady runs ,and control the clock. Bills win 28-24.
  21. This made the whole thread worthwhile! I always crack up when people expect DTV to give discounts like its a moral obligation. In terms of 635-1, EBALL is correct, that is a listing for the Gints game.
  22. Yep... Tyron : Old Contract..has a great year this year at $3.5, gets tagged next year form$22.0 ...makes $25M total. Bad year and he hits the open market.Devastating injury..cooked . So top side is $25m, low side is $3.5 New contract $9.5 guaranteed , plays well gets $27 m next year. Plays bad, hits open market. So top side $37M , low side $9.5M How can people not see great deal for him. Bills : Bills pay $6.5 to avoid messy contract negotiation next year in event TT has a good year, but can still get out if he chits the bed...well worth the 6.5... And they can now control Gilmore as well. Everyone wins is right Eric!
