WOW! Fergy threw 5 picks that day! I only recollected it to be about 3. But, come to think of it, it did seem like I was screaming at him after an interception quite often in that 2nd half. As a kid, I didn't realize that 5 interceptions in a half was something that must be history-making, or at least extremely rare. It seemed the norm in my young brain for Fergy.

Another thing I remember from those December games in L.A. (1974 and 1991) is that the wind chill was about 72 degrees. I remember being told to take a sweatshirt because "it might get a little cool when the sun goes down." However, I invariably came home with a sunburned face, and back of my neck.

I vaguely in my mind's eye can remember and picture some of this!!! Incredible! Well, like I said, dear sir, you are officially my hero now!. . . Got anything on the 1983 Bills-Rams game at "The Big A" in Anaheim where the Bills lost 41-17 (I think). I think Fergy hit Byron Franklin for a first half TD. But threw three picks in the game? And Eric Dickerson ran for over 100 yds. that day.

No, . . . no, I'm pretty sure that Buffalo has the best Pizza and Italian food in the world. . . however, I could be biased. . . it is my hometown

Anyone have anything on this?

When I was very young, I can still recollect being at the L.A. Coliseum in 1974 (I believe. . . maybe 1975) and watching O.J. Simpson run against the Los Angeles Rams of Jack Youngblood, Jim Youngblood, Fred Dryer, (maybe Isaiah Robertson too.) I remember that O.J. fumbled down near the Ram goalline, but Buffalo recovered in the endzone for a TD. I believe that the Rams won 19-14. If anyone can confirm this old stuff, you'd officially be my hero. . .

Ah yes, I believe Christie was our kicker in 1992, correct?

'92 sounds about right.

As a So Cal native, I was just talking with some buddies about a Bills-Raiders game we attended at the L.A. Coliseum way back in the Bills Superbowl years. Al Edwards had a kickoff return of about 94 yds for a TD that day, and Norwood won it late or in O.T. after struggling mightily with misses that day. But, I cannot remember the exact year. can anyone help me out with this?

Okay, I'm an out of towner, but visited epic Buffalo this past July. I went to the Italian Fest in North Buffalo. I tried many slices of pizza. . . and I can safely say that Buffalo has the best pizza (and Italian food) in the entire freakin' world. Everyone of those pizza slices was way better than what I ever got in Southern Cal or Denver (where I am now). Also, cold cuts, hot dogs, and cheeses are always best in Buffalo, for whatever reason.

I believe San Diego will likely beat them in San Diego, but not this week in that stadium. Trust me, I'm rooting for San Diego for playoff implications, because they are not going anywhere with they're schedule anyway. But, it isn't happening.
-
Is it "ornery"? Okay, how about pissed, thats easier to spell. But, everyone remember at Miami is NEVER an easy game. Just ask New England about that after last year's Monday Nighter in Miami. Denver is not great, but San Diego is also fairly average and Denver is also extremely tough at home, despite some shortcomings.
-
In Denver's home opener after the embarrassment they just had? Will not happen. I guarantee a Bronco victory. San Diego has NEVER won at Invesco, has lost 7 in a row in Denver overall, was a semi-fluke last year, and Denver almost always comes out smoking at home after a bad game. I'll remind you of this prediction after the Broncos win that game.
-
Oh, and if you want the lock of the year. . . bet San Diego UNDER for wins/losses this year. They're currently listed at 8 1/2 in Vegas. They will be 0-2 after going to Denver this week to face a ornry Bronco team. And S.D.s schedule is unbelievable brutal. They are going about 6-10 or 7-9, guaranteed.

That's right folks, after one week of play the NFL's top ranked passer with a rating of 143.4 is. . . Drew Freaking Bledsoe!!! Alas, it's true. . . look it up. Obviously, it won't last. But, it sticks in my craw a bit that the statue is playing better for Dallas than he did for us. It is, however, fairly predictable. He gets better protection there, is playing for Parcells, and has the Dallas Cowboy tradition/mystique on his side there. In fact, I bet the Cowboys to win against San Diego (no points, I collected better than 1-1 on my money). And I bet them OVER on wins/losses for the season. They will obviously be 3-0 after 3 weeks (with a home Monday Nighter against pig Washington, and then at pig San Fran). Their schedule is very easy. Wish the Bills had that schedule. The 'Pokes are going 10-6 and wildcard bound, unfortunately.

While I haven't gone so far as to say JP will outgain Willis, I wrote that I was very concerned about the O-Line/running game on a topic I started a few days ago. I got nothing but bashed for suggesting such sacrilege. Didn't you know that the Bills are going 16-0, Willis is going for 2 grand, and JP is the second coming? How dare you suggest otherwise. . .

some observations from last night
BenchBledsoe replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, if we don't bring our "A" game to Oakland, we will lose there. I cannot believe many are counting on at Oakland as a win for us. Its 50-50 at best. -
This is a 6-10 Team This Year
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From what I saw from Oakland last night, they are going to score a ton this year. If their run defense continues to play like that (yes, I have Corey Dillon in my fantasy league and was dying in the first half) they are going to be tough for the Bills to beat, especially in Oakland. We couldn't beat them last year, and they're much improved on offense. -

Yes, I have been taking shots on the board. However, many, like yourself fear that what I wrote may be true. But, folks I'm really hoping not, (so I don't get bashed as a troll). I do not consider myself a pessimist, just a realist. -
Why is Coy Wire Still Here?
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't want Wire to take one snap in our defensive backfield this season. Surely they cut someone that in comparable on special teams and a little better in the defensive backfield for this guy. -

You guys have sounded like I want them to go 6-10. Not true. But, they are in danger of being headed that way, that's what I'm saying. -

BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ahhh, blind optimism . . . gotta love it. Yeah, when they break out the rest of the playbook and run different and new plays, the offensive line will perform much better than they have been. . . -
Why is Coy Wire Still Here?
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, another very curious decision by TD. Wire stays, Lindell stays (no real competition even brought in), Haddad out while Wilson in, Ritzman out, 3 DEs on the roster. . . I'm am seriously questioning these decisions. Could it be that. . . gasp. . . TD is wrong? Many believe he is. -
This is a 6-10 Team This Year
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well clearly people have written that the O-Line is weak, but I'm saying that it is the worst in the league and will drag this team down to the tune of 6-10 this year. I hadn't seen that written yet. -
Somebody please explain. . . I cannot fathom it. You mean to tell me that they had all off season and this camp, and couldn't come up with anyone better than Coy Wire? What is going on here? I was certain he was gone.
