The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
GG replied to 1B4IDye's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That's not how this works, especially given your posting history. If anyone is in need of a thorough self *****, it's not me. Here's your post - uncorrected for any syntax, because it's not a syntax issue, but a point the blame issue. How was community spread affected by lack of hospital readiness? -

It's ignorant to think that people died in the hospitals because of a perceived PPE shortage. Using your Buffalo General example, Erie County has a total of 81 deaths. Where are the thousands of deaths related to PPE shortage? Erie County total deaths are 81 - how many are related to PPE shortage? Is it even a single case? -

If you were honest about anything, you'd note that the majority of infections of healthcare workers happened early on, when PPE was still in plentiful supply. Which means that very likely, the health workers may not have been as diligent as they are now in following every rule to minimize exposure. -

Actually, I don't know what your intentions is, other than tying two things together that didn't happen in reality. -

You said thousands died in a post about PPE shortages. Explain the connection. -

China didn't develop 5G. But since the major Western telecom vendors went bankrupt, it opened the door for Huawei to steal technology and use its size to corner the market on emerging 5G gear. USA's 5G buildouts do not contain any Huawei equipment. Worse, they can make the beer inside the fridge explode. -

Not exactly. 5G is an enabling technology. It's the hardware manufacturers' decision of how to use that technology to get data back and forth. It's not a given that your refrigerator's diagnostics will be shared with the government. If governments want to instill a surveillance state, they can do it without 5G. 5G just makes it more efficient. -

Yes, that's why I differentiated mobile 5G which uses traditional cellular frequencies from fixed wireless 5G which uses much higher frequencies. Neither tech is so widespread that could cause this -

It's a coincidence only to people who are too lazy or stupid to look at coverage maps. Verizon's 5G buildout has been lit in areas that have not been hit hard by Wuhan. Same in Italy - the 3 markets where 5G is live have not been affected as badly as where there is no 5G. -

There's a fundamental shift in all technology advancements. That's why there are different numbers. The ability to install a surveillance state is certainly easier with 5G than prior techs. Has nothing to do with the inherent safety of the wavelengths. -
I'm not quite ready to go all @BillfromNYC on this, but I see DE as a bigger need than CB with the first pick.

I briefly touched on this a few days ago with Foxx. Most of this is conspiratorial bull####. 5G is simply the next generation wireless technology, not too much different than moving from 1G - 2G - 3G and 4G over the last two decades. Most 5G service will be on the same/similar frequencies that current cellphones have been operating on since the '80s. The new concern however should be on the fixed wireless aspect of 5G which uses millimeter wave frequencies, which are a bit more dangerous to the human body. But, the deployment of 5G to date has zero correlation to where Wuhan virus was out of control. -

A sailor on USS Roosevelt passed away from Wuhan virus. What remains a mystery is how the sailors got infected in the first place. The ship docked in Vietnam on March 5, so that would be a prime suspect. Yet Vietnam has among the lowest recorded cases in all of Asia. What are the odds the 3 initial sailors hit the perfect storm of meeting the few people with the virus in Vietnam? Or is there more to this? -

They didn't give the exact date, but since the interview was on March 6 it must have been within that week. That's a baloney argument. Once again, unless you are Trump, your literal statements don't mean crap. -

Do you think Fauci's comments over the weekend are inconsistent with his comments all the way through March 12? -

The understatement of the interview though wasn't Fauci's commentary, but the Today anchor asking him about a case where NBC reporter came back from covering the spread in Lombardy, but wasn't asked any questions upon landing. Fauci was surprised, because the procedures were in place to question arrivals about their travels. So, while everyone is getting their panties in a wad about lack of response from the higher ups, the truth is more likely that plain old on-the-ground incompetence at JFK or Newark may have stoked the spread in the NYC area. -

Does this sound like a senior health official who was calling Code Red behind the scenes? Note the date.
