  1. Since the discussion is about need vs BPA, can you please elaborate how that would fit into trading up two slots to select a CB with the Bills' first pick?
  2. I can wait.
  3. You're the one who threw out that theory. Why is it upon me to show data?
  4. Teams don't draft in a vacuum and always balance need vs BPA. Shaq happened to be a good combination of need and BPA. Please show me proof that drafting for need historically sucks. Because there's a huge difference in drafting Shaq Lawson because you're thin on DL vs drafting Travares Tillman because you needed a safety.
  5. Let me see if I understand your logic. You state that Bills had a big need at DE/OLB, but argue that Lawson was a bad pick at that spot? Did I get that right?
  6. I'm not into 20/20 hindsight analysis of why the 6th WR picked in the draft is having the better season than the guys picked ahead of him. The point is about drafting strategy, and Bills are getting slammed for drafting for need over BPA. Yet, when you examine history, it shows that after the top 10 picks are off the board, you shouldn't reach for a project with your pick. Because for every Ray Lewis, there are 100 Katzemoyers.
  7. Fuller's performance has been very pedestrian after the first two games of the year, and he wouldn't have fit the need for a bigger WR that Bills are looking for to complement Sammy. In a sense, Fuller's spot in Buffalo would have been the same complementary role that Shaq is playing, but certainly not a difference maker.
  8. Quick, name the difference makers who were picked after #18 this year.
  9. It's the ongoing debate of drafting for need vs BPA. I think it this case, Shaq was a bit of both. Getting an athletic versatile lineman with a decent upside isn't a stupid strategy. You'll always have a lower probability of getting a stud at #19, and to me Shaq was the safe choice. I think it's riskier to gamble on a project with a big ceiling in that spot, unless it's for a QB.
  10. Yup. Lot's of myopia in this thread. Lawson wasn't only picked because Bills cut Mario. He was a wise pick because Bills lost Mario and Kyle is playing on borrowed time. To get a quality DL with the 19th pick isn't a stupid drafting strategy.
  11. What I got is that Bills fans are louder than Falcons fans and have more engaging tailgates.
  12. Think of the motivation for a moment. If the sources for the bombshell allegation are valid, why are they talking to Think Progress and not to WashPo, NYT or any other major publication that is dying to get real dirt on Trump?
  13. Why the hell is this POS thread here?
  14. Pakistani
  15. More electors backed away from Clinton than trump, with two more who were replaced because they were going to vote for Bernie.
  16. It appears that all the efforts that Clinton backers put into imploring electors to vote their conscience have worked. Hillary lost 4 electoral votes in Washintgon to Colin Powell and Faith Spotted Eagle.
  17. Good. Swap the helmet and shoulder pads and activate him on Sunday afternoon.
  18. 'Tis the season. Copycat truck driver runs over crowd at a Christmas market in Berlin. ( I know, nothing definitive in the story says that it's an Islamic radical attack, but I'll rake the chance) Already being discussed, but I'd attribute that to war rather than terrorism.
  19. Yeah, but I'm still puzzled at Kane not going after the free puck leading to an icing call in OT. That was a bizarre play.
  20. Ever since the last supper.
  21. That it's neocons' fault?
  22. Maybe Putin's strategy in Syria isn't as foolproof as his defenders like to point out. Open season on diplomats in art galleries.
  23. I think you're simplifying it a bit. This seems to be a typical battle between a coach and a GM, with the team President lurking in the background. And each of them have staff that's loyal to them and not to the coach. These leaks to the media are totally evocative of the Donahoe days when Bills would start feeding information to the media in advance of a big player hitting free agency. Suddenly, the story went, the guy lost a step here or there or had trouble picking up his coverage. Sounds like the same pattern to me, despite all the new blood at OBD. If I'm Pegula, I'm livid that somebody from my staff is having these types of discussions with national rumor mongers.
