Charles Clay- the most useless player ever
GG replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
O'Leary NFL ability is encapsulated in one play. He had a clear chance to put the game away with his second down catch and a run for the first down, and he was stopped 1 yard short. In any event, the All-22 is damning to Clay's occasional brain farts during games. He's seen hugging the endline for the majority of Allen's mad scramble and then slips in coming back to the ball. -
I don't think so. To me, Sirles was a clear upgrade over Miller
-
Disagree based on what I saw in the first half. He got pushed back a bunch of times into the pocket, but I didn't see a single clean beat that's common with Miller

Anti-trust should only be concerned about consumer harm, period. The government shouldn't be in a position to decide which companies win or lose. Your rant is only about the profit motive of private enterprises, and you think that because they are very profitable then a legal/regulatory remedy must be enforced. Only if you can demonstrate consumer harm is when you should enforce stricter options. That's what differentiates (or at least it used to) the US and EU. EU's rules try to protect industries, US rules tried to protect the consumer. One is much better than the other. Please tell me how I would benefit from buying cell service from a local telecom provider that can't get volume discounts from Apple or Samsung? What would you do to force WalMart to give up precious shelf space to a small drink company? Would you buy a family car from a guy who opened up a little factory on the outskirts of town? -

It's not easy, and it's much harder when you trip over your feet -

How did it require a change in direction when he was stopped and waiting in the end zone? As for blaming the INTs, you're confusing that play with my MISTAKEN defense of the INT off Clay's hands in the first Jets game last year. -

Are you saying that Clay didn't trip over his feet or stumble on his come back? -

Except that Clay has a long history of not catching well thrown balls -

It was a bad throw because it was short and wobbly. But that also gave Clay plenty of time to come back to, which he would have if not for the stumble. -

It wasn't a good pass, but definitely enough time to come back without diving for it. Once clearer replay is available, you'll see it wasn't a dive but a stumble -

Yup. At first I thought he dove to get to the ball, but on replay he clearly stumbles and loses his footing coming back to the ball. -
Until we sort this officiating we are going nowhere

It didn't impact the replay, but surely follows the script that there wasn't a parity of calls in the last 6 minutes -

That's beside the point of Gase throwing the red flag, which is a clear foul resulting in either a loss of a time out or 15 yard penalty. But why would you start learning the rules when they are in Bills' favor? -

Zay definitely dropped it. But the only reason he dropped it was the clear PI on the CB. -

Nope, no replays on penalties. That was a clear case of no catch, but because it was called a catch and a clear PI, the call should have stood. -

I think that Zay’s was a correct non-catch. But the only reason it wasn’t a clean catch was because the CB was draped all over him well before the ball arrived. If they extended the fins last drive due to a borderline PI call, they had to make Zay’s called catch stand. Especially after the blown hit to the head on previous play. -

And McDermott is inactive, again. He's been lapped on this roster by about half dozen guys, yet the namesake is still on there -

The example of DHL proves that the industry is not monopolistic. If UPS/Fedex were gouging above market rates, there would have been enough profit available for DHL to stay in the market. But their subscale relative to UPS/Fedex meant they didn't earn enough to invest and remain competitive. -

He pulled a nice stunt by getting the courts to rule that Apple engaged in anti-competitive behavior in ebooks. -

You beat my response. DHL is the third option that keeps the others honest. The reality of running a national door to door delivery company isn't cheap. BTW, Amazon is launching its own transportation & logistics division because they have enough volume to justify their spend.
