  1. Is it possible that this entire situation is nothing more than a carefully orchestrated charade? Is it possible that Merriman has been playing possum? I've got to believe Gailey had this game circled on his calendar. Could this be an instance of brilliant gamesmanship?

I dunno if you're nuts… I was kind of thinking the same thing. Not so much as a charade but more in-line with not turning him loose in the first 2 weeks. I believe (or maybe it's just "hope") that the Bills will have a strong pass rush game-planned for Brady and that SM will figure quite prominently in that scheme.

  2. ...God, but they remind me of the '70's teams that were sooo bad for sooo long.

At least the red helmies represent our Super Bowl years and have a little glory behind them. Seen the roadies and now the "homeies". Negatory for me.

    GO BILLS!!!

  4. I lived in MSP for over 25 years but am a Buffalo native. Not much in the way of tailgating (there's a little in a very few scattered lots) so yes, most parties are at local bars and restaurants. Try to get to Brits right around 9:00am if you can. It's a popular gameday spot. I'm told that Bills fans will have a separate area but there's no telling how big it is.

    Hope to see you there.

Hey All. I need to correct my previous post: the pregame party is at the Local - not Brits. Still on the Nicolet Mall (about a block away form Brits). Doors do open at 9:00am. I apologize for the error.

  5. Are you a Minneapolis native?

Its doesn't seem like there is tailgating there.

Is it true that the tailgating takes place at a bar?

    Sounds like I'll be there.

  6. Yeah, something is fishy there.

I'd tell Ken to keep doing it, and until the police or a Bills official actually says otherwise, tell this effin crackpot to cram it with walnuts.

For the sake of accuracy: I was standing right there when what looked to me like cops (they had "Sheriff" on the back of their jackets) told Ken to "shut it down in 15 minutes". I could be wrong as senility is slowly taking over  but I don't think I am.

  7. I think I heard Lori say that they shut down some of Pinto Kenny's festivities as well.

The NFL wonders why no one wants to go to the games anymore?

They certainly did. I was there talking with Ken about the upcoming Bills/Vikes game in December when the Sheriff(s) came up to us and told Ken to "shut it down in 15 minutes" All Ken could say was "ok".

Don't know his future plans but this party has been a standard for years - one we always visit on gamedays when in town. And I've never seen anyone get out of hand there.

As someone stated: Too bad that No Fun League now stretches beyond the field.

  8. 30 Years ago on this day, we beat the Miami Dolphins for the first time in 10 years (20 straight games) 4 takeaways by Jeff Nixon,3 interceptions and a fumble recovery! :worthy:

I was there. It was a beautiful day and nobody left the stadium. Crowd was chanting "We beat Miami" as the clock ran down. Fans rushed the field, tore down the goal posts and passed them up and down the stands at Rich. One upright got delivered to Ralph - passed right up to his box. He had it cut-up and a local radio station had a promotion giving away pieces of the goalposts.

Younger fans have no idea how torturous those 10 years were. The Bills lost in every conceivable manner. And Phish players just laughed. Zero for the 70s is the one major reason why I'll always hate the phish and more than any other team.

Ive been to some great games and experienced some dramatic sports wins for my favorite teams throughout the years but this game is top 3 of all time for me.

  9. I love cheese but find the selection available in local stores unacceptable. [i had no idea the French made cheese till I visited WNY in 2003 and went to Wegman's] I have decided to spurge and order some raw milk X sharp Cheddar and real provolone. Any other ideas?

Aged Gouda (not the regular stuff). Distinctive taste, IMO. Rich, creamy flavor yet dry and rather sharp. $$$

Also, a good Asiago is great by itself or with a little Vino.

    <_<

  10. This stupid :worthy: thread is still going on? Can someone google for me the longest thread ever? I am too lazy to do it myself and I have a big test coming up so I need the answers quick! DON'T JUST STAND THERE , LETS GO!!!
