  1. ...He came back on the line and told me that there would be no charge this year for Sunday Ticket Max. I was a bit taken aback and asked him to confirm which he did. Shortest call I ever had with Directv and great start to a weekend. Hope everyone else does as well or better.

Beware! I went through this exact scenario last year and got into a huge fight with DTV. If I'm wrong then I apologize but I'd bet dollars to donuts that you only are receiving the ST max for free while still paying for the base ST package.

  2. Hey, 16 was generally close enough in those days! My how the times have changed!

For any Atlanta folks who miss Teds, try Barkers Red Hots in Marietta. Only open for lunch during the week. Not just a decent dog, they are a true knock-off with "Crystal Beach fries", Weber's mustard, chili sauce ("Signature Style") and they (at least used to) have Loganberry. Good dogs if you are craving. Little family run joint.

So, I'm gonna be driving thru ATL next month and thought this would be a great stop. Alas... closing for good on June 23rd.

Would you welcome him back? None of our current number two running backs has impressed me....

    1. They guy we drafted this year, Johnathan Williams, I don't even remember a single play he has made.... way to early to call him a bust.
    2. Reggie Bush... nothing
    3. Mike Gillislee... not impressed at all.

At this point, I would even talk with old man Freddie Jackson (I am joking of course).

What if the plan all along was to bring him back after week 4? Just saying.... I would not put it past the GM and Rex. They tell KW "you have an extra month to shed the weight... just do it and you back on the team."

If he spent the last 4 weeks losing weight, getting straight and getting into playing shape, I'd give it a shot. He was a powerful inside runner LY - something that appears to be lacking so far.

    Why three columns?

Like many of us, I've been in front of a screen for years as part of my job. Much of that time is with Outlook as the primary screen. I set-up Outlook to have PST files on the left side, Calendar on the right and current emails in the middle (main) area. I guess it's just how my brain works. I can scan upcoming stuff for the day or week on the right and have quick access to files as needed on the left.

So (again, this is just my thought), with 3 columns, I can see all of the current news in the middle section; links to forums, etc. on one side and links to other stuff like Sabres Space, OTW, etc. on the other. This way, the user doesn't have to scroll all the way down to see all of the links like we currently do on TBD. I often find myself losing interest as I scroll down the center section of TBD's daily articles so I may miss some links on the right that could interest me. If they were further up on the left side, it's possible I'd see pay more attention to them.

Would also be cool to always have the schedule on top of one of the columns and that would also be possible with 3.

Finally, I have to believe the vast majority of screens are now wide format so why not take advantage and have content on both sides of the main area?

  5. Do you mind enlightening a non book reader?

The prologue provides a lot of in-depth information about wargs. The chapter is seen through the eyes of a particularly powerful warg, Varamyr. At one point, Varamyr recalls meeting JS who he confirms is a strong yet untrained warg who still fights his ability rather than embrace it.

Couple this with JS's last word being "Ghost" and as many have suggested, JS returning as having warged into his dire wolf becomes a very strong possibility at some point in the future.

  6. For those of you who are book readers, I'd recommend a re-read of the prologue in ADWD.

About 2/3 through, it provides some interesting info on JS that you may have forgotten. I certainly did. Actually, the entire chapter, when read again, is a lot more relevant after all of the events in the book are concluded.

    100%, LB.

Kit has a deal for two more seasons, he signed it in October of '14. He's also on the shooting schedule for season 6. Despite what EW says, he's not gone from the show.

In an earlier post, I stated that I indeed believe that JS is coming back in some form. I quoted the EW interview with Harrington as it created some doubt for me.

So to that end and from the same interview: Harrington: "....And as far as the salary thing goes, that angered me when that story came out. I don’t know where it came from, but it was inaccurate in many ways. It’s going to put questions into your head and into fans’ heads that things are not what they are. Quite honestly, I have never been told the future of things in this show, but this is the one time I have. They sat me down and said, “This is how it is.”

  8. well since they are probably already filming the fall season episodes ...... he may already know

Didn't see the return of Varys! nice

    Arya's revenge was SWEET!!!!

I will be deeply disappointed if that was the end of Jon. I too think the red witch will save Jon Snow. maybe this is his out of the Brotherhood and he can become part of the Dragon Army foreshadowed by his reclaiming Winterfell and saving Sansa.

How many screen shots of Ceirci walk of shame are being posted on the web? The mute Mountain is the brother and not the hound as some have speculated (seen by Breanne and Pod on the island with the walking missionary.

Did Breanne off Stannis? and will she also find and rescue Sansa and Reek?

Does the prince have an antidote for poison to save Myrcella?

The article that I read didn't actually say he would or would not return next season.

Do not forget ----- There is power in Kings blood! and we say plenty of it.

Entertainment Weekly: "...So let me ask you: Is Jon really dead?"

Harrington: "This is my understanding of it. I had a sit-down with Dan and David, we did the Tony Soprano walk [letting an actor know they’re being whacked]. And they said, “Look, you’re gone, it’s done.” "...Quite honestly, I have never been told the future of things in this show, but this is the one time I have. They sat me down and said, “This is how it is.” If anything in the future is not like that, then I don’t know about it – it’s only in David and Dan and George’s heads. But I’ve been told I’m dead. I’m dead. I’m not coming back next season. So that’s all I can tell you, really.

  9.

Yeah, I think you said it well. Most of the storylines at least resemble what we know in the books (except for Stannis and Sansa, of course), which is an improvement. Interesting how they merged Sansa and Jeyne Poole there at the end, with the dive into the snow. As for Melisandre, I agree, I think she'll be the one to bring JS back, though there's no foreshadowing of it like there is in the books. If there was some Ghost reference at the end, I would be more confident in that.

I read an interview with Kit Harrington (actor who plays JS) after my original post last night and he states emphatically that he will not be back in season six. My wife equates that to killing-off Dr. "McDreamy" in her (not my!!!) Grey's Anatomy. And I do know several female GoT fans that watch the show primarily for Snow. That's got to have them po'd.

Anyway, even knowing from book 5 that the Black Brothers were going to off JS "for the Watch", I always thought that GRRM would have a device to bring him back. Now, I'm not so sure. Yes, he could have warged into Ghost and there are other possibilities too but we may have really seen the last of Snow. If so, R+L=J becomes moot.

  10. Well, although I'm not completely thrilled on how they got there, I'm really happy that the show runners got the main story-line back into alignment with the books. With the strong exception with the Stannis arc.

We really don't know a lot about what's going to happen next. I'm among those who believe that Melisandre will bring JS back to life very early next season. I'm also really hoping that GRRM actually does get book six completed by he end of the year.

Unfortunately, I also believe that it will primarily a bridge to the final book.

Speaking of Stannis, I think that after last week, he had to have everything fall apart this week or the fan masses would have revolted and I loved that Brienne was the one to finish him off.

  11. I need a little help here from those who are up to date on both the HBO series and the book. IF YOU ARE NOT UP TO DATE, YOU MAY NOT WANT TO READ ON.

    Anyway....

I decided to checkout the latest teaser chapter of WoW released by GRRM and something hit me as I read the first couple of paragraphs: In the HBO series, Sansa's marriage to Ramsey is not legal. "Why?" you may ask? Because she is still married to Tyrion (Unless I missed the divorce somewhere).

Was this fact overlooked by fans due to the outrage of Sansa's wedding night? I can't believe that the showrunners simply overlooked this.

And by the way, honest question: Does Dany have greyscale now? Jorah held her hand for a good while.

Great point. She should if the show is true to the story.

As for Stannis, this has been leading up to sacrificing his daughter for a couple of weeks now. It wasn't surprising to me but sure was disgusting. As I read on another site: he's a fanatic as is his wife and Melisandre. And fanaticism doesn't have boundaries.

  13. First " Hardhome" and now "Dance of Dragons". Two great episodes with hopefully an outstanding finale next week. I was really discouraged the first few weeks but these last two were worth the wait.

Just one thing bothers me: where the heck are the great Unsullied warriors to protect Dany. I mean really...I get that they had to make it kind of desperate for Drogon's dramatic return but the Unsullied have been pretty ordinary, twice now.

  14. Back in the sixties, when someone abandoned their ideals for money, we used to call it "selling out".

If GRRM signed-off on this crap that I've watched the last three weeks, then it proves what I've thought for a number of years: he has no clue where to take this story and is allowing the HBO team to take it wherever they want just to cash a check.

The worst three hours of this series ever IMO.
