Sure, if I was 15 years younger I guess. I feel like a creep even thinking about ladies that young.

What a drag it is getting old!

Things just aren't the same today. I hear every mother say.  (wrong thread???)

  2. Had my left knee done 1 year ago. I was walking (with a walker) day one. Do not mess with your PT. Do it regularly and religiously. You will be very happy if you do.

Depending on the joint which was used, you may experience the "clicking" referred to earlier up-thread. I do. It can be annoying but becomes just background noise after awhile.

I had a complication informally called "patella clunk" or sometimes "patella crunch".  Google it. This can happen in about 4% of patients, again depending on the  joint used.  It usually shows-up 3-6 months after surgery and can be (and in my case, was) eliminated by a scope procedure.

I never took one pain killer afterwards. No drugs, My surgeon uses what I describe as a ball/pump which delivers painkiller directly to the wound via a small tube. IIRC, it lasted about a week before the pain killer was all used up. It's too late now for you to have but for anyone else reading this who may have to get at TKR, I'd HIGHLY recommend that you explore this option with your surgeon/anesthesiologist.

I also had 2 weeks of in-home PT visits by a combo nurse/physical therapist. He checked the incision, removed the staples and the pain pump tube all during this time. He also helped with rehab and exercises during that time.

Hope this helps and Good luck!!!

  3. Believe it or not (and as much as I don't like his writing), I've been listening to Jerry Sullivan on 1270 the Fan the past few weeks. He gets great guests and a lot of them! So his personal air time is a bit limited (at least as compared to the 'GR guys). Show starts at 9:00am. Not a horrible alternative if you want WNY centric sports discussion and more enjoyable than the AM pablum from 'GR. I rarely listen to the PM guys on 550. IMO, Schopp is the worst of all time.

  4. I was at that game and remember that you actually heard Stratton's hit on Lincoln, then the crowd's collective "ohhhhh" and then that momentary silence as he laid on the ground.

    Was awesome!

And I agree that the '64 team probably would have beaten ANY NFL team that season.

Arguably Henry Fonda's best role playing against type. It's a great movie, regardless of genre.

    Agree!

RR Tycoon: " Why'd you kill them? I only told you to scare 'em!"

    Fonda (matter-of-factly): " People scare better when they're die'n"

One of my top 10 all-time movies.

  6. Just my opinion:

Regardless of the numbers situation you've been facing, you should have addressed the issues with this kid as soon as they started. By letting him get away with disrespecting the game, you and his teammates, you inadvertently approved his behavior. Just because he was one of your better players, it shouldn't excuse the fact that he was dishonest and was disregarding his obligations.

I guess I'm saying that by not addressing the bad behavior immediately, it grew to the point where he felt he could blow-off the last game of the season and let his teammates down by forcing a forfeit.

You would have been better confronting him early on. If he walked, he walked. Or maybe, he would have somehow realized his mistakes, grown up a little bit and committed to the team.

  7. 12/22/02. Coldest day of my life. It was so cold that Pinto Kenny couldn’t get the oil hot enough to cook the wings at our tailgate.

Pack fans were great. Stadium was great.

Best memory of that trip was the night before the game when 20 of us had dinner at Brett Favre’s Steakhouse - all decked in our Bills gear. After dinner, our server asked if we wanted to meet Irv Favre who was running the place. We of course said yes. He came over to the table and asked if we were all Bills fans we confirmed that indeed, that was the case. He looked at us, nodded his head and said “well, all I gotta say is that you all came a long way to see your team get their a$$’s kicked”! It was absolute classic.

Oh yeah, Bills got shutout 10-0.

What year did you see them?  I don't remember a snowstorm and I thought I saw them during the summer.  I do remember someone in the crowd yelling "Journey to the Center of the MInd."   Ted yelled back " What do you think this is, AM radio."

Like I mentioned, I'm not sure I'm having a correct recollection of the day. There were a lot of...ummm....fuzzy nights back then. I could just as easily be confusing that show with another night we were there. I do remember that there were very few people attending that night which surprised me.

  9. I actually was there when Ted (Mr. Mellow) Nugent and the Amboy Dukes played. IIRC, there was a snow storm heading in and the place had maybe 100 people for the show. I spent the entire night standing right  in front of TN watching and listening. It was quite the night.

  10. JM & DJ were actually responding to an LA-based Bills fan who called-In and commented on that HE didn't get all of the negativity that he hears on 'GR and reads on-line. This dude made the phone call that I've been wanting to make for a long time.

The Bills actually, really have a shot at making the playoffs. Maybe they will, maybe they won't but all we hear is that it doesn't matter because it will mess-up the draft position. Problem is, we've been conditioned to think that way for well over a decade now. Always worry about next year. There's a whole generation of Bills' fans who have never experienced a true winning team or winning environment.

Next year will come in due time. This year, this Bills team still has a legit shot of putting the 17 years of torture behind us. We should all want that.

  11. I know Irma is very serious stuff and am hoping that all Floridians are safe. Football takes a back seat when it comes to safety and downright survival.

For any Bills fans who made it out and may have ended-up in Mobile AL, (like we did) I just spoke with a local sports bar mgr. who will put the game on for us if I let him know we're coming.

If you are in Mobile and want to see the game on Sunday, please pm me and I'll give you the details.

    Tony.

  12. .... Although I don't see Cersei just abandoning her brother/lover completely. He's also key to leading her army.

Actually, I'm thinking that Jamie is taken captive and while with Tyrion and Dany, finally realizes how truly evil (and insane) his sister really is and more or less, changes sides.

  13. Wine $300 - $400. Good thing now that I and retired I don't eat much.

I better set up a go fund me account.

    Send me wine please.

Yep. Wine is the problem. Not much beer and maybe one, max two, cocktails per week. Darn it but pret' near a bottle of wine (between the little lady and me) with dinner just about every night. Gets very expensive rather quickly. Can you make that a go-fund-us?

  14. This was my clear number 1! Can never hear a helicopter fly by without having "The End" start playing immediately in my head.

This is number my #2 as well - Sergio Leone's "Once upon a time in the West". First time I saw it, I said WTF is goin on:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QML28YQBvyc

Agree with what already has been posted: "JAWS", "Star Wars", "Raiders of the Lost Ark"

I would add, "Once Upon A Time in the West". Not just the opening scene, but the second scene as well.

"The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring".

    Heck, the whole darn movie.
