  1. If there's ever been a collection of more meaningless and arbitrary data, I'd like to know what it is.
  2. Wow, even I was annoyed by this. Not sure why they would want to create such a glut at DB. Surely there must have been a developmental lineman or QB or TE. Ryan Purvis, BC TE? How about a kicker to keep Rian Lindell motivated?
  3. There's our SLB depth http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80f8832d
  4. Cribbs, you mention Maybin as a RDE - the nice thing about him is that he was equally productive from the left side, so he offers a lot of flexibility - They'll probably move him around a lot. I'd also expect to see him actually line up to one side of Schobel in 3rd and long situations.
  5. Gosselin had a 2nd round grade on him - ranked only two behind Everette Brown, who so many here were screaming for in the 1st. I only point this out because Gosselin's top 100 has been the most accurate ranking of players, in both predictive value and production hindsight, for years. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...100.7dd05b.html
  6. I'm with you on this one. I've said it probably half a dozen times - he's really impressive - hope Modrak and Co. agree.
  7. OOookaaayy....well, nobody is FORCING you to keep following them.
  8. I think we need to get back into the 3rd to get a TE that can impact this year. Will we trade Roscoe? Kelsay? A surprise trade? Give up value next year? I really hope to see us draft James Casey. Incredible hands, giant frame, huge leaper, smart guy. Versatile.
  9. This can't be accurate, though. I mean, McShay might spend his entire waking hours looking at film and talking to scouts and interviewing players, but he's only one guy. And on the Stadium Wall, there are at least twenty-eight guys on their couches with a bag of chips in their lap and they all say that our draft was a joke and our front office is an embarrassment for their selections. And twenty-eight is more than one. Therefore....
  10. I don't know about that - he was rated between the #1 and #3 DE on the boards I read, and that's including Jackson who is only a fit in the 34. PFW and Gosselin ranked him the #1 43 DE.
  11. I'm hoping the Bills can get TE James Casey - unbelievably versatile - great hands. But I don't think he'll be around in the 4th round. Maybe they'll package Roscoe, who knows...
  12. In case it hasn't already been posted, PFW ranks Levitre as the #1 guard in the draft. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr...9/OffGuards.htm
  13. #1 guard on PFW's board http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr...9/OffGuards.htm
  14. In case it hasn't been posted already yet, PFW ranks Maybin the #1 overall DE http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr...009/DefEnds.htm
  15. I'm starting to become inured to stupidity, there's just so much of it around here. Butler to the bench? Did you pay attention at all last year? He was very good, and he has a new contract. He's our RG.
  16. No, you're a joke. And those like you who think you know what you're talking about beyond being a reader of mocks. Every year, EVERY YEAR, Big Names that people here clamor for drop deep into the draft - for reasons that professional scouts know and understand. These are just NAMES to you. One critical thing that people forget every year: Teams rank players to fit their scheme. Mock drafts do not.
  17. Will you guys let the kids play first and stop pretending that you know better...please?
  18. interesting take on him predicts that he'll replace the non-playmaking Simpson at FS. Jairus Byrd CB/S Oregon STRENGTHS Jairus is a very smart CB. He has good size, is very quick and shows an excellent burst to the ball. He looks to be a great zone coverage CB with the intelligence, quickness and athletic abilities to be a solid man-to-man cover CB. He is a strong tackler and could be moved very easily to impact at the free safety position. He shows leadership skills through his play on the field. Jairus is an excellent red zone cover CB because of his quickness, burst, size and hands to make the interception. NEEDS TO IMPROVE Jairus is smart and plays with a big cushion to keep the play in front of him. I don't think he can cover those quick and fast WR's in the NFL if they get behind him. That's why I'm thinking he could be an excellent cover free safety or your #2 CB, but I'm not convinced he is a #1 CB who can cover any size or style WR. TALENT BOARD ROUND 2 Jairus might be a perfect fit as a free safety. He is a ball hawk and loves the play in front of him. He has excellent instincts and is very smart. I think that because of his intelligence, Jairus could play mind games with a lot of QB's at the next level and have a whole lot of fun. He is a solid tackler and I just bet that if he was moved to safety, he would impact and get more interceptions than if he stays at the CB position. Don't get me wrong -- he is a good CB; however, it looks like (from the way he plays for his college team) that he needs to be in a zone coverage defense to impact. I love this kid's potential to impact in the red zone. The truth is that I like Jairus better as a CB/S than I like the kid from Ohio St because Jairus is a better tackler in the open field. In my opinion, both players' cover skills are about the same, but Jairus beats Malcolm Jenkins out in my mind because he is a better tackler in the open field. Grade: 2nd round
  19. I'd love to see the Bills draft TE James Casey here. That Butler kid the Patriots just snagged...his highlights are impressive. Dang. Surprised they took Brace, though. Not because he's not worth the pick, I'm sure he is - but they have Wilfork. Leverage perhaps for his upcoming free agency?
  20. In case you haven't seen it yet. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80f92f66
  21. Waaaa! Why won't they give up value to trade up and take a name that I'm familiar with? Dammit!
  22. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...100.7dd05b.html had Maybin at 12, Wood at 32. It's interesting how Gosselin always hits within 5 or 10 value slots. His sources clearly trust him.
