  1. I heard Stevie's WGR interview and that "over the top" "in your face" celebration was all about the Bills being openly mocked by the Jets in their first game. He said the Jets thought they were "soft," he even mentioned their head coach and the other Jet players. Here's my thread on the topic... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/138119-jets-were-openly-mocking-the-bills/page__p__2303932#entry2303932 I'm not all that upset at him for doing this, it's just that the crazy stuff needs to start being a thing of the past. Make your game winning TD catch be your answer to the "lowbrow" Jets. I really hope he doesn't stop the TD celebrations though. Just keep it within the rules.
  2. It showed a serious lack of focus and selfishness (I'm sure there are a ton of jokes right here), this after the team had been blown out the previous couple of games. Johnson and Nelson have both been dropping easy passes and should clear the air with their teammates regarding their after TD "look at me" national attention grabbing behavior.
  3. I think Stevie and Nelson should both address the team and apologize for their selfish acts the last few weeks. Both were planned, awkward and came during the most crucial point in the season. Just clear the air, chalk it up to misguided youthful exuberance, promise it will never happen again, and let's have the players and fans enjoy the rest of the season. These guys need to drop the kid stuff and become real leaders on this team. Let the front page news be about this team making the playoffs for the first time since the MCM which now actually looks ancient on video.
  4. I think the really ironic part of this is that Stevie would have been the toast of the NFL if he had just done a silly, yet tasteful dance and caught the easy TD ball from Fitzpatrick at the end of the game. His yearning for instant attention robbed him of his finest moment and arrival on the scene as one of the best NFL receivers in the game. Let's hope this "teaching" moment motivates him to drop the "Ocho Cinco" act for good and truly become one of the greatest pros this team has ever seen. C'mon man, you're better than this Stevie.
  5. Then Chan has to go. Bring back Perry Fewell as our HC. We have the blueprint on offense already.
  6. I hope that they keep Smith in at the #2. I think he's got a legit shot at nailing down the job for the long term. The guy's got long arms like Burress which really helps out a QB in keeping the ball out of harms way.
  7. Exactly, Costas needs to have some perspective here. This whole thing has been ridiculously blown out of proportion. BTW, I think Bills fans have been conditioned to always have a person to really hate after a loss. It's the Jerry Sullivanication effect. Did Johnson's drop and celebration penalty have an effect on the final outcome? Sure it did, but so did no running game on offense and no pass rush on defense. But Bills fans don't want to hear or talk about that. They need a "Super Villain" to turn their anger towards. I like Stevie's quirks and off beat personality. I enjoyed his celebration dance. Even more, I love the way he plays. If the Bills don't sign him long term I will be a very very angry fan.
  8. Yes, because God's KARMA is surely with the guy who actually SHOT himself in the leg in a NYC nightclub and NOT on the guy playfully mocking him in a TD dance! This thread is so stupid beyond belief and I won't blame Stevie at all when he leaves for the Pats and who's Brady and Belichick will surely love, love, LOVE the tape they saw of him owning the un-touchable Revis. Bills fans have officially lost their minds.
  9. No it didn't. It was only a fifteen yard penalty and our kicker whiffed the ball. Stevie Johnson just made himself a huge payday today with how he schooled Revis. You guys are simply too misguided to notice how great a game this guy had. Johnson's a legitimate "free spirit" and I thought that shooting himself in the leg was one of the most creative TD dances ever. I thought that backing it up with doing the Jet flying dance and crash landing was even funnier. I'm glad he did it. It's called confidence and attitude and it's something this team lacked the previous three weeks. I'm perfectly ok with him doing this once or twice a season. He's an artist who happens to play football and play it very well. The Bills need a lot more players with Johnson's ultra-confident attitude.
  10. I think the Pittsburgh drop was much worse than this one. This was a well thrown ball that came at him pretty fast. He is starting to get a rep though. He no longer has any cache left in this area. I for one think that he proved that he's a #1 receiver after today. I have faith that he'll become one of the core nucleus of Bills players who bring us back to the promise land in the next couple of years. A side note, since the Bills paid Fitzpatrick his money and gave him an extension, there's no way Stevie Johnson's going anywhere. Those two are joined at the hip and will be in Buffalo for the long haul. They're like peanut butter and jelly.
  11. These guys aren't robots. You've got to look at what he did the whole against the best CB since Deion Sanders. He owned him. Revis, one of the best cover corners in the history of the NFL, couldn't cover Johnson. And you guys want to cry about one dropped pass???? Wow, just wow. He was open on that second to last play in the endzone, he was open all day long against one of the best CB ever, that's money.
  12. Puulease. Nobody has EVER owned Derrell Revis until today. Johnson being open in the endzone on one of the last plays and his owning Revis all day more than made up for that bad drop and his celebration penalty. My take is that the Bills had a major chip on their shoulder because of the Jets' "in your face" showboating in the last game a few weeks ago. Johnson clearly had this "in your face "comeback planned for the Jets. I'm not really that upset about him doing that. I kind of like the "eye for an eye" attitude. The kicker needs to kick the fricken ball. I've never seen a kicker miss the ball before on a kickoff. This thread is ridiculous. Stevie Johnson played a great game today. I can forgive him his couple of "my bads" today.
  13. I agree, I'd halfback option them all day. I'm a big Fitzpatrick fan, but the line is too shaky and this game calls for a different approach.
  14. Was Williams fired too soon? Jauron? With regards to Phillips, what has he ever done in this league to not justify the Bills firing him? Seriously. The problem is that the Bills are picking the wrong guys. They aren't picking head coaching material, they're picking coordinator types who think they're head coaching material and who'll take the job because it's the only team who will hire them. The Bills had a good young head coach and let him go in Perry Fewell. NFL players need a younger guy who know how they tick and will push their buttons. The Bills are picking cerebral guys who think the players will motivate themselves individually. Sorry, but that doesn't cut it today. Just look at what Jim Harbaugh has done with his team. Jim Harbaugh is today's standard bearer for who and what players want in their head coach. A guy who is passionate and wants it just as much as the guys on the field. I think that if Gailey's team doesn't show some fight in this last half of the season, the Bills should fire him immediately and hire back Fewell. This young guy who's full of passion would be the perfect fit for our young team. He's coming back from a couple of years in the Giant organization who know about what it takes to win Superbowls. It hurts to say it, but Gailey is just too old school and too cerebral.
  15. That's nothing. There's not a snowballs chance in you-know-what when America hears this little nugget from Newt's past... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ian-fletcher/gingrich-trade_b_1112582.html "Gingrich has been openly contemptuous of American sovereignty when it comes to trade. He said, in testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee in June 1994, 'I am just saying that we need to be honest about the fact that we are transferring from the United States at a practical level significant authority to a new organization.' "
  16. Instead of becoming a stronger candidate, he's been looking weaker. The way he handled the accusations was fumbling, the fumbles in interviews about China and Libya. He just seems as if he's unsure of himself. It's a disappointing change from the beginning of his campaign where he appeared so solid. He could get me back, but he needs to do a lot of re-convincing before that happens. I do really like the guy a lot. I lean towards the side that thinks the accusations are false or have been blown out of proportion. But you can't look unsteady when facing challenges. Maybe he can make a comeback though. It obvious that there's going to be someone eventually chosen as the anti-Romney candidate. Right now it's Newt, but that will no doubt probably change once his baggage hits the tarmac.
  17. Her rise to power is a compelling story, her unique personality is compelling, her opinions about our country and our president are compelling, the very visceral anger she induced on the left is compelling. As far as commanding, she went against the republican establishment in Alaska and won. She certainly has commanded the majority of non-Obama political attention over these last three years. The MSM got what they wanted. They can live with Mr. Romney, they couldn't live with the possibility of a Palin presidency. The things I don't like about her is that she quit her job, she chickened out for the 2012 race and her delivery is much too thick on the folksy, "gosh darn it" side. But putting that aside, she's got so much more going for her than the current crop of GOP hopefuls.
  18. He's only here to make personal attacks. He's an ideological pacifist which makes him supportive of the far left agenda as far as I'm concerned.
  19. Not only good, I think Palin would make a great president. Romney and Huntsman are literally like wall paper to me. There's not one thing I can find that's commanding or compelling about them.
  20. Until he fumbled, I was supporting Herman Cain for president a few weeks ago. I want Perry Fewell as our head coach right now over Chan Gailey. But I'm clearly a racist because I said a mean thing about your hero? You're the Janeane Garofalo of the PPP board. It's true. You just keep feeling good protecting and supporting the liberal run government plantation.
  21. After watching it, I've come to the conclusion that Chan's main problem as a head coach, and with this team in particular, is that he has no connection to them. It sounds like he has no idea of what they're thinking, how they're feeling, what motivates them. Nor does it sound like he cares. Name me one Superbowl winning head coach in the modern NFL (say last twenty years) who did not have an emotional connection to his team? This is the reason why we'e getting blown out by the likes of the Miami Dolphins. Injuries will lose you football games, having players perceive that you don't care about them will get you blown out of the building. I know people here don't want to believe this and will be angry at me for dissing Chan, but NFL players are passionate by nature. If they feel you are cold and uncaring they will shut it down. I know that Chan cares, but I think he's just the type of guy who keep that sort of stuff bottled up inside. It's why he was made to be a coordinator and not an NFL head coach.
  22. Here's something that's not a "talking point". It's an updated 30 minute 1995 documentary on Newt Gingrich... http://www.jbs.org/commentary/the-real-newt-gingrich While this is a group known for their conspiracy theories, facts are facts. Newt is not the "conservative" thinker the media portrays him to be. Far from it. Funny thing about 1995, the national debt was at 5 trillion dollars. If the national debt triples again over the next 16 years the national debt will be 45 trillion in 2027. What will become of this country in 16 years with that much debt? Seriously. When will it end? Who will have the leadership to stop it? Newt's been front and center as a national career politician and he's clearly part of what got us here. But you just keep on believing that Palin's non-substantive "talking points" are the problem. Sorry, but we've already tried the arrogant bloviator in chief. We need a person who will do what they say they will do whether that's in talking points or in a 100 page thesis. I like how Newt showed his true colors just last night talking about heartless Americans who don't believe in amnesty. Have you ever seen his "green energy" commercial he did with Pelosi? But he's so darn good with words!
  23. Chicago, like Detroit, has been run by far left policies since forever. The "progressive" DC leaders are bringing America down the same destructive path. Do I blame Obama for this specific inhuman act? No. But Obama's Chicago "community organizing" presidential credentials have always been a joke and America is clearly running down the dark liberal path of places like Chicago and Detroit. Increasing endless handouts and entitlements only leads to the dehumanization and the destruction of a culture. Not only is there no shame, there's actual gleefulness in causing serious physical pain to the weakest among us.
  24. This is truly one of the sickest things I've ever seen... http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/11/23/teen-surrenders-in-attack-on-homeless-man-at-cta-stop/ Obama really did a bang up job there with the Chicago "community". I can see why he thought he did such a great job that he deserved to be president. This country is going down the tubes fast.
  25. Trump and Palin are full fledged "brands" now. Everything that could be known about them has been brought out in public and beaten to death. I know Trump has had a few wives, but the public views him as America's CEO, and those extra marriages while living his life in the private sector are merely footnotes to a long career in the public eye. The MSM has nothing on him that's scandalous. What's Palin's biggest scandal? That 20 years ago she might have had sex with Michigan's Rice before she was married? Now that's a stretch!
