As mad as I am, I think this was a BIG
JimBob2232 replied to 4everBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. It was a very good call by Mularkey. HOWEVER, that was a FG that would be made by 90% of the kickers in this league. If we had any other NFL kicker, less perhaps shayne graham, we kick that FG and this game goes into OT. I dont know if cutting Lindell NOW is a good move, but it should have been done 4 months ago -
Okay, so I dont want to jump down Lindells throat here...but we need a reliable kicker. This isnt based on just todays game, but ever since christie left, there has been a huge lack of emphasis on the kicking game. Having a reliable kicker, we would have not punted late in this game. Having a good kicker, we would have made the 42 yard FG earlier in the game. Kickers are one of the most important players on the team, and todays loss is due to the lack of the front office to realize this. Now, we played a good game. The offense looked pretty good, defense didnt lose a step. I dont blame this game on clements. Sure he made a mistake, but one mistake does not cost us a game. Untimely penalties and the lack of finding a decent kicker in the offseason did. Also remember to give credit to jacksonville. That was one hell of a drive for them. I think they will be very good this year (I predicted Wildcard for them), so try not to get too down based alone on this game. One more thing to point out. Its a LONG season. Last year we were 2-0, and dominating. The bandwagon got overcrowded, and many of you were putting in for vacation time to go see the bills in New Orleans. This year we are 0-1, played a very good game, with an unfortunate outcome. It is important to not lose sight of the big picture.

This is the 2ND GAME of the nfl season. It is the only game on saturday. They could market this thing and make a killing...

Will a 1st Rd drafted QB finally win an SB in 04?
JimBob2232 replied to Fake-Fat Sunny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With Manning, McNabb, Cullpepper, Vick, Bledsoe, Pennington and Leftwich, this will be broken in short order..dont worry -
Why is the game not being shown on saturday on sunday ticket? This is my big gripe here

WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP.. ESPN POWER RANKINGS
JimBob2232 replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMO this list is all hosed up. Detroit is better than #25, the cardinals will no longer be the worst team in the league, the giants are better than 28, the texans should be better than 26. The broncos are a strech at 10, the Aints at 13? This list is too much based on last season than it is on this current season. It doesnt matter though. We can be #32 in the rankings for all I care, as long as we are 10-6 I will be happy. -
either way. Seven WRs, when you are only using one is VERY excessive
-
Yeah, WR is skeptical, but you have enough depth that you should get a productive season out of some of them. I am high on calico, but he is very much a questionmark. McNair is the kind of backup QB i like to have in my leagues, not a starter...but he will suffice. I dont think you win your division, but you wont be a bottom feeder either. soemwhere in the 3-6 range is my guess.
-
Burress is okay, but you dont have a single WR who will even be the #1 guy on his team! (except boldin who will be out for a while) Green should be allright, but by looking at the rest of your team, it appears you stretched to get him in round 3. I like Barlow and Portis...Westbrook is decent depth. TE leaves alot to be desired. I think you are going to be in trouble this season.
-
Well, a defense is a defense as far as i'm concerned. Unless you have one of the top defenses in the league (and it changes almost unpredictably each year), its not worth any more than your last couple picks, IMO. Vicks affinity for the ole injury bug does scare me, but he is still a very good QB and leftwich is great depth behind him. Though they both have week 9 byes. I was suprised by the rbs left as well. I picked #5 in the draft. and grabbed green, after Payton went extremely early. When it came back to me, vick was there. I was shocked that after picking taylor, henry was still around on my next pick, and i couldnt let him slip by, especially since vick, green and taylor all share the same bye week

12 TEAM LEAGUE QUARTERBACKS Micheal Vick Byron Leftwich RUNNING BACKS Ahman Green Fred Taylor Travis Henry Tiki Barber WIDE RECIEVER Donte Stallworth Roy Williams Peerless Price Chris Chambers Muhsin Muhammad TIGHT ENDS Freddie Jones LJ Smith KICKER John Kasay DEFENSE St. Louis Only Issue I see, is week 9 with the byes...also I would have liked a better defense, kicker and possibly better WRs. Let me know what you think

This dude is still around? My all-time least favorite bill.

Chargers trying to trade Flutie to Buffalo

Gildon for Flutie? Hmmm... -
Nor did I...but Best Buy is giving them away to new customers....so what the heck!

Great guys. Thanks for your help. One more quick question. Can directv tivo system make its daily "phone call" over the directv satillite, or does it still need to be connected to a land line/intenet?
-
I currently have a stand alone TiVo unit. I was wondering if anyone knew how compatable these tivo brand units are with DirecTV. I know it was miserable with Digital cable, because you had to use the infared ports, etc. Also, does directv come into the house on standard co-axial cable? or do they actually have to run special wiring? I am going to be getting NFL ST. Best I can tell, right now you can get 4 months of the premium package free, free install, and I think a free DVR (via BB), if you sign up for NFL ST. Any other input would be appreciated Thanks
