I think hashtag's point is that the players themselves were pretty good - hence pointing out that all of them are still active NFL players. The Bills also have a few good examples of correctly prioritizing positions, but poorly identifying players: Aaron Maybin, Mike Williams, JP Losman, and Erik Flowers come to mind as 1st-round picks at big ticket positions who didn't make it. All were out of the league very quickly after leaving the Bills. (I'm one of the last 3-4 EJ semi-believers, but even I'll admit that he's probably going to be on this list in a year or two.) If you want to include DT as a big ticket position (debatable), then you could add Torrell Troup and John McCargo in as well. And since hashtag included WR in the list as well, let's also include James Hardy. Great positional priority for all of these, and all (ostensibly) filled a need to boot, they just weren't good enough players.

In this instance I think that Bado absolutely has a point

If you are going to be a good team you have to draft well with your 1st round picks......we have went through so many years of bad 1st round picks it got to the point where you cringe when someone was drafted.......

They have been better especially when Whaley took over (I know I know that is debatable) lets just pretend for a second that Sammy Watkins is the player that we are seeing making Grimes and Revis look silly......Marcel...yes....Gilmore....yes......Darby....yes....this does not even take into account 2nd round players which have also been hits....Glenn...yes......Woods...yes......Darby....yes....Kiko....yes

but....you can see the transition...you draft better...the team becomes more talented.....the team has a winning record.

  2.

    Ridiculous.

I never rooted against CJ or Stevie or Mike Williams etc..

Good example was Fitz......I was the first on TSW to identify that he couldn't accurately throw deep.....much to the denial of TSW.........and that teams were going to start squatting on the throws he could make.

I loved me some Fitz....would have been a great story......but when the jig is up, it's up.

This is a hobby to me and as such I like to understand what I am watching and it isn't always good.

I've seen McCoy pass on the tough yards in Philly...and even got a look at it early with the Bills.....I've heard that he needs to be motivated........his ypc numbers have been average 2 of the last 3 years.....he has had a ****-ton of carries in such a short time...he's got the mileage of an older back......and he has personality issues and was just given a 5 year contract with 2/3 guaranteed to assuage his displeasure at being traded to Buffalo.

There is just A LOT to be concerned about with Shady and the bottom line is that he is 14th in the NFL in rushing and hammy and shoulder injuries are very possibly just signs of wear and tear.

But by all means play your "you aren't as big a fan as me card".

    Thank you...I will

  3.

All I can tell you guys is that I wouldn't get too hardened in your positions because I'm rarely wrong.

    It's a long, long list.

The LIKELIHOOD is that the McCoy deal will end very badly....far short of it's length......and you guys will be left looking crazy on TSW rationalizing how it was worth $28M-$30M for two years of what he ends up doing.

I HOPE I am wrong.......I love watching him play well and the Bills subsequently win......there are no trophies for being right on TSW......but step back for a moment and tell me this......if you were told last spring that McCoy would be 14th in the NFL in rushing after 9 games would you be happy with that?

Because that's the way it goes with high mileage backs......one minute they look like they still got it......then something happens and in the end the results aren't there.

Bills fans saw it with Thurman Thomas. Once he went into decline we were always told he was thisclose to being back to his old self. Then he'd show flashes......and then it would be gone again.

So basically you are hoping for a bills player to fail.....but not really

    But you are

  4.

    Cornerstone?

As in the foundation of the current team?

The only player left is Eric Wood.........and it cost them perennial All Pro LT Jason Peters to get that pick.

    LOL

Jairus Byrd was an All Pro with the Bills.

    Levitre was an excellent guard.

    Wood.....well, he's been a starter.

Three long term starters is a pretty good draft.

    Technically.

It was less a bad draft than an example of how NOT to use your early picks.

Rule of thumb: if you draft a guy early and he plays at or above expectations.....and he pans out and you won't pay him market rate as a free agent because you don't value that position.....then it was a poor use of a pick.

Early rounds aren't for JAGs like Eric Wood, undersize OG's or cornebacks that are too slow so they have to be converted to safety.

Early rounds you need to be getting prototypes at positions that are worthy of paying market value too if they pan out.

Are you talking about Miller and Aaron Williams?

  5. Who's covering Gronkowski?...

The only way we have a chance is our D-line getting to Brady early and often and rattle him.

This certainly isn't the week for Rex to get cute with the exotic blitz schemes. Our front four, when healthy, are more than formidable, especially if they're all back and healthy, just let them do what they do well. It also helps that the New England offensive line is hurting and in makeshift situation.

Brady's gonna get the ball out quick, so I'd play press coverage all night long! If the D-line fails to get to Brady, they need to get their hands up.

Oh, and it'll also help us if the officials don't hold the Patriots hands up and down the field, like ya know, what seemingly happens every single time we play these dbags...

Fair to say with basically no offensive weapons that we can bracket Gronk?

  6. Ouch! I have been trying for years to forget about that disastrous pick! I think that today, RTs are becoming more important week by week. That said, in those days for a RT to be selected at #4, I would want him to be as good as Erik Williams (imo the best RT ever) or Bob Brown. Did they project Williams to LT at some point. Probably but he weighed at least 350 and had a bad ankle.

    Unbelievable. :(

I know how you don't care as much as I do about 1st round picks but choices like that actually cripple a franchise.

Throw Maybin in there as well......

    Just very very bad picks

  7.

Interesting. I'm not going to pay for that, but it's interesting to know where I can find it.

BTW, are you talking about the Q rating? (Not A list, etc., right?)

Yeah I dont have my subscription right now either (I used to do a lot of research on it for managers, agents, productions people have done for meetings etc, etc_

Its called a "star meter" rating....that in itself doesnt give you a great list but if you set the star meter rating between say......1 and 100 then start going through their actual work.......you can come up with a good list.

Oh I thought we were just making jokes.

You really think the Eagles are going to average around 60-70 yards rushing in the last 7 games?

I've been making light of the "top 3 RB" absolute we've been fed wrt McCoy.

    He's not.

But if the spread between the top RB and whatever McCoy is is going to be 500 plus yards then maybe "top 3" isn't really a great point of reference. Are running backs who finish within 500 yards of McCoy deserving to be lumped into a class with him?

    LOL

  9. 3-10 (7 man rush) at 6:14 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LBdRQ6hwXs

Tyrod makes the correct call to bring Clay into the backfield to block, but does not throw his hot read (Hogan), who you can see starting to come open.

Which Tyrod had no chance of stepping into any kind of throw he sees 52 come completely untouched into the backfield open and starts to scramble.

    3-10 (7 man rush) at 11:37 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LBdRQ6hwXs

Tyrod identifies the blitz, and shifts his formation to accommodate, but once again does not throw his hot read (Watkins), who you can see starting to come open.

Are you sure this is the correct time of the game for the play you are describing? All I see at that moment is Rex Ryan's face then the next play is a good pass to McCoy... :)

NOTE: Please understand that I am not trying to argue with you here.....you took the time to post these and I want to see what your seeing.

  10. Once again another QB a ton of posters wanted that is not working out fir their team

And a small crew here are bitching about Tyrod Taylor....do you see JUST HOW HARD IT IS TO FIND THESE GUYS

P.S. That is why that crew are not offering up solutions other then "drafting X QB but I dont know which one"......tear down the guy that is actually playing well for us....but dont offer a alternative (mostly because there really isnt one)

  11. Rhonda needed this break. To be perfectly honest she looked a little out of shape for this fight at the weigh in.

She has done a ton for representing female MMA fighting and if she never came back to the sport and went into the entertainment industry should would have no regrets.

I always go back to the story I heard on the radio about Rhonda Rousey on my way into work a while back

    - There was this military ball and a marine who had the huge crush on Rhonda Rousey and wanted to ask her to the ball but never thought she would do it

    - Somehow the news linked back to Rhonda about this

    - Rhonda got in contact with him and told him as long as she was not in the middle of training for a fight and if he would get dates for her crew (all female) to the ball as well

I thought that was pretty cool

  12. If I'm Rex I'm playing the pass on every down, let them run the ball. Double Gronk with a safety and LB, put Darby on Amindola and Gilmore on the other guy (can't recall his name). Make Brady go to his second read and blitz every play.. Easier said than done though.. But I'd rather see 150 yards passing and 200 rushing than 400 passing and 90 rushing..

They would have absolutely no problem killing us on the ground with that huge running back of theirs

What needs to happen is they HAVE to send pressure.....and our DB's (which now include McKelvin) have to hold up in pass pro

and our offense needs to score points

  13. What if by some completely unforseen chance we actually beat the patriots this next Monday night?

    - They are not just down Decker....they also lost another one of their important WR's in a previous weak.

    - Big last minute victory over the Giants in a game that they absolutely should have lost

    - We scored points on these guys in the first game

    - Healthiest we have been all season

    - Watkins gaining momentum

    - D played pretty darn well at crucial times against the jets

Yes....probably might not win.....but what if we DID?

    EDIT: Guys sorry...I meant

    Edelman

And Dion Lewis is the other WR they lost earlier
