    It’s pre scripted Ravens/9ers.

besides this isn’t a good stat - it means we don’t even lose to the team that makes the SB

Yeah but if the curse holds Sunday, those KC fans get a fleeting moment of happiness from beating the Bills in these epic battles and then crash and burn just like 31 other teams. I kinda like that.  They’re not getting another Lombardi off beating Buffalo.

Also, seeing that video of the fans screaming at Gabe Davis didn't sit right with me either. Yeah, we all have our gripes about the guy, but have some respect and some class. It was just a bad look.

I really want to go at it with the morons that are shouting out to Gabe Davis or who get into it with Bills players on social media.  Pisses me off.   That video clip has been posted all over various social media and other fans message boards. Just makes the entire Bills fan base look like absolute losers.

  3. We did lose the ability to be explosive and i blame everyone BUT Josh Allen.

All that being said, the game plan appeared to be to protect the depleted defense, holding the football and keeping Mahomes on the bench as long as possible.  It came within a whisker of working.  We had the ball at the end, with the chance to win.  This didn't come down to Mahomes magic.  We were calling the shots, and it failed.  That hurts.

    I watched Josh last night.

This is going to come out wrong and be taken to mean what I’m not intending but:

He seemed too chill about losing. He said the right things. He gave the right answers. He wasn’t happy but he seemed resigned to it. Like a beaten person.

Remember the anger on here for Mahomes’ act after the first loss. It KILLED him to lose against Josh/Bills in the end of a close game. He wasn’t supposed to lose!  Mahomes and Kelcie and Reid were NOT losing this game.

I think Josh is at the point of, What else can I do. Record breaking performances and they still beat us.

I had a thread during the win streak about Josh and the Bills maintaining a "refuse to lose" mentality.  It was great to see.  But they went up against the ultimate refuse to lose tandem in Mahomes/Andy Reid.  It sucks, but they are the standard until they're not.  We are so close though.

  5. Allen has done everything imaginable.  He's the entire heartbeat of the team and is responsible for everything good.  But he's known for not beating Mahomes or Burrow when it matters, in consecutive seasons in the playoffs at home, which sucks.

There were a million reasons why we lost this game.  And Josh willed this team to get as close to victory as we did.  Diggs drop, Sherfield drop, bad 1st down playcalling, defensive struggles, missed kick, etc.

But nothing will sit with me more from this game than the throw to Shakir in the end zone with a wide open Diggs streaking underneath.  Even if we hit that pass and take the lead, you give the chiefs 1:40 and two TOs against a defense that hasn’t really stopped them.  The Diggs pass runs the clock, shortens the kick if needed, but most importantly moves the chains.

    Totally heartbroken…

This.  And it really wasn't hard to break it down in the real time moment.  At 2nd and 9 from the KC 27 at the two minute warning, the first down was MORE important than the TD right there.  It's hard to say that, but it was.  The Chiefs were allowing the middle of the field to some extent.  Take it, you have two plays to get 9 yards and they weren't really stopping the Bills short stuff on that drive.  Get the 9 yards, make them take the timeouts or bleed the clock.  Make it so Buffalo is either going to get a lead TD with little time left or at worst, kick the FG from closer in for a nearly a guaranteed OT.   The time was the key thing...to leave KC with almost no clock left for a comeback TD or a GW FG.  Buffalo really blew that and McDermott/Brady must be sick about it.

Right now, it feels like Mahomes is Jordon to Allen's Ewing. Those Knicks teams could never get past the Bulls. Seeing the same thing here with the Chiefs and Bills.

Ha, nice.  I made a similar comparison yesterday in a different post but said Mahomes is Jordan and Allen is Karl Malone.  Dude made the playoffs every year, would have had a couple Championships if not for Jordan.  Just could never get past the Bulls. Malone is a Hall of Famer but never got a ring.

Nope.  Our offense has been Super Bowl-worthy going on four years now.  The thing that has held us back in the playoffs is our defense.  Our defense has been absolutely pathetic in every single game we've been eliminated in over the past four years.  Yes, Mahomes and Burrow are two of the game's best, but we provided almost zero resistance against them in those games.

True, they've struggled badly.  The reason Cincinnati beat KC and got to a SB is because the Bengals defense forced Mahomes into the worst half of his playoff life.

You need offense, and with Allen the Bills will have good offense.  Josh Allen's career playoff stats are better than his regular season stats in a lot of area.  He elevates his game.  The D and special teams unfortunately shrinks,,,in part due to schemes, coaching, injuries, playing against world class QBs....Pick a reason, they shrink against Mahomes and Burrow.  But truthfully, Mahomes just might be the best ever and does it to a lot of teams.

    ya i seen that.  heartbreaking

WRs that don’t catch that with their hands have lost confidence or something. As a WR Diggs should be putting his two hands up and snatching the ball out of the air, not waiting for it to come into his body.  But he shoulda caught it anyway. Just a terrible job there by Diggs all around.

if anyone can explain bleeding the clock on the front side of two mins and then going for the end zone inside— I’d be all ears

to me it amounts to “let’s ensure only one possession happens after ours.” That’s worst case possible for 0 (as we saw), 3 or 7 (full drives with no pressure from the clock and unlikely to give Josh the ball back)

either you finish the drive between 2-3 mins and hope to get the last touch, or you bleed the clock, target the first down out of the warning and let the clock pressure the chiefs while you take shots

then they should throw it at 2:20 instead of sitting on the ball

After the Two min warning the correct sequence should have been getting the first down and continue bleeding it. If the very last resort was a Bass FG attempt it would be likely from 10 yards closer and possibly the last play to ensure the kick would send it to OT and not give KC a final possession.

Not a good look for Gabe engaging negatively with fans

    He's good as gone.

    And that's ok with me

Bad look for Gabe but bad look for the fan(s) too.  I’m really sick of some of the “mafia” getting into it with Bills players either on the sidelines or social media.  A bunch of a-holes. Just cheer for the team or argue on message boards. No need to make the entire fan base look like fools to everyone and piss off the players.

  12. Yep, this time we had exactly what we wanted.  Home crowd behind them, Ball on the 27, Two minutes remaining, 2nd down and 9.  This part wasn’t about Mahomes magic or anything.

This should have been get the 9 yards, get the first down, milk the clock down as far as you could giving proper chance to get the late TD.  If a FG was needed it should have been from closer in and with virtually no time left to ensure OT.

It was a weird moment but the time on the clock was more important than getting a TD with basically two mins remaining.  That would’ve given KC a great chance to go down against the depleted D and win at the end in even more heart breaking fashion.

  13. When Butker kicks it seemed like a heavy ball that powers through.

When Bass kicks it’s like a wiffle ball in the wind.  ugh.

We need a good kicker and to be kicking in a stadium that isn't horribly engineered for the elements.

Agreed, we are a dome team as assembled.  Can’t kick in the elements or track downfield passes properly and catch the ball.

  14. The Chiefs are the same as how I viewed the Patriots.  The damage is done.  They cannot do anything else to impress anyone more than they already have.  If they get 3, 4, 5 Lombardi's? It doesn't even matter anymore.  So if they get another I don't care one iota.

The Ravens already have a couple SB's as well, so another isn't going to elevate them in my eyes.  They are already in the exclusive club, twice.  But it would be kind of annoying if Lamar gets one.

So for the AFC, I'm just going to enjoy watching one of these fan bases go home sad and depressed.  That will make me happy.

I like the Detroit story a lot, but i would be a little jealous if they get the trophy in their first great season.   That would be like Allen getting it the season a few years ago when we lost at KC in the AFC Championship.  But I would be happy for Detroit even though they have Championships in other sports.

San Francisco has plenty of Lombardi's on the mantle.  One more wouldn't bother me or affect me whatsoever.

Yep I get it but from a leadership standpoint if Josh really focused in this summer and worked out like crazy he would set the standard for the team. When the team sees him out golfing they probably think well he's not working out maybe I don't have to either

Mentally, Josh probably needs to get away from the game. My gosh, did he account for 50 TDs again? I think he’s the first QB to do that and not make a SB.  And he’s done it twice!  while playing some golf in the offseason.
