I'm not saying that we can't enjoy it. I just think it's too easy to go overboard with predictions after only one week.

I love optimism. Although as a born and bred Buffalo Bills fan I've had little, other than those four years in the early 90s which all ended in severe pessimism. But we all need to calm down and enjoy our WEEK 1 win. We've been hear before (see '03 with win v. Pats and '06 with win v. Texans) and a strong week 1 win doesn't always lead to the playoffs. In fact, I can hardly remember the playoffs as a Bills fan (actually, I do, but I'm pretending not to). So, I will enjoy this day with all of you. I will rejoice in Brady's knee being f-ed up. And I will praise our off-season pickups on defense, our new offense, and our typically dominant special teams. But I will also be very cautious (as a Bills fan I need to be) and not too cocky, and (as the cliche goes..) take one game at a time. Is it too late to say Superbowl bound? Yes. But it's not too late to say: The Bills are back, baby!

Royal is not out of the woods yet. He made that terrible play at the end of the half not getting out of bounds and still can't break a tackle. He goes down on ever first hit, a la Pete Metzalars.

I agree with all points. Especially Stroud. Our d-line is completely different with him in there. Amazing how much of a difference once player can make. Love Spencer Johnson too!! The talent level on our Special Teams is amazing.

If by update you mean the same sh-- we've known for 3 months. Thanks. I would love to be employed for ESPN. Has Tony Dungy ever said anything negative about any team? He's a classy guy. Did you expect him to say No? Or something like: "Not really. They won't surprise anyone. They are terrible."

Good comments. I agree with both sides. It was something I was just thinking about this morning. I think that we need to make the playoffs, in any way possible, to increase the national exposure to the team. We have been out of the spotlight now for almost 15 years.

I know we all strive and hope for the Bills winning the Super Bowl every year, but would this scenario - a Wild Card birth and first round loss - be acceptable this year? Thoughts?

I wish people really knew how true this statement is. I was at the 'Downer for two separate bachelor parties back in the late 90s or early 2000s, and both times we saw EM.
