  1. Look I know everybody thinks I am stupid and whining but I'm simply not buying what they are selling. I really don't know if any ufa's or rfa's would improve the team and quite frankly I'm sick of this team needing so much to compete. Until this year I had season tickets since 1998 and this team has not stopped the run since Pat Williams left, has not had a serviceable LT since Fina, QB since Kelly (maybe Flutie or Bledsoe count for a year)...and every year I buy in and support the team so they don't move but I've heard the same Sh*& for too long I just want to see something different. IMO this is not different. I hope all of the rookies turn it around but now this is past pathetic.

    Yes

  2. Isn't it ironic that we by passed Colt McCoy deep in the draft, but we take some unknown, inexperienced RB that Indy discarded named Colt Simpson. "No offense O.J.".....

Wasn't there a free agent offensive tackle available not too long ago....Levi Jones or something like that? So instead

we draft a small time QB in the 7th round Levi Brown..."No offense Jim"....

Then didn't we just pick up a RB named Mendenhall? Well, yeah I know we did...but isn't the other one the one that

matters? We picked up another unknown!

    ...

It starts at the top..and as long as they hire coaches and staff on the cheap and avoid QB's in the first two rounds...they won't ever make it back to the playoffs! I see people predicting great things...that they are building towards..but it's all a

facade. Even when they bring a player along like Peters, they repeatedly have shown that they are not willing to pay what it takes to keep him. That is a fact and history continually repeats itself. The top teams keep most of their superstars..Indy will retire a Colt and Brady will spend several years on the Patriots unless he gets plagued by injuries. Good teams keep their stars, the Bills like the Bisons is a good place to watch some young players develop and if they become a desirable

player move on to a "real" NFL Franchise!!!! I hate to say all this, but it's the way it is and I'm a diehard supporter of da

Bills regardless of the product they put on the field every year. But, I'm not going to call a pile of sh*t a pile of Gold !!!!!

How original. You took the basic mantra of the doom and gloomers on this board "we suck, the front office sucks, our draft sucks, Ralph sucks" and managed to expand it into a self congratulatory 700 word diatribe. You were that kid in class who reminded the teacher he hadn't given out homework.

  3. I have been thinking about our OT situation and trying to understand why Buddy and Chan would want to trade for a very good LOT in Gaither that will need to be extended for very big money when all reports are that while he is very talented, he does not work extremely hard. This before he gets big money. The guys has made 5th rounder money for 4 years. Will he bust his butt to win after he gets a huge deal? Maybe.

Make sense that you would trade away a highly conveted 2nd rounder for Gaither given you like to build through the draft? Maybe, but probaby not.

Now, would you be willing to call and talk to Ozzie Newson and maybe float a low ball offer to start? Maybe, and it would make sense if....

you really would rather trade for Jammal Brown and give him an extension. All reports I have read (not many so please weigh in if you have heard otherwise) is that he is a good run and pass blocker. Have not heard if he was a hard worker and a tough player (Chan likes and wants those). Anyway, assuming the Bills might want them, wouldn't it make sense to trade him for a guy they love and have been pumping up multiple times, but does not really fit their defensive scheme? Yes, it does make sense. Kyle Williams. New Orleans was close to trading for B Cofield of th NYG's on draft and have been rumored to be interested in Haynesowrth. They want a DT. Now, while Williams is not as big as those guys, we know Gregg Williams loves productive migh motor defensive linemen. He fits for NO.

So, maybe some like... Jamal Brown for Kyle Williams and a 4th.

As soon as I just sold myself on this idea I looked up Jammal Brown's age is he was 29 back in March. If he stays healthy for 4-5 more years and plays at a pro blowl level, then it make sense. It could be that he is started breaking down last year and will an injury issue for a bunch more in his career. I think I like this option better then Gaither. Just my humble opinion.

    Peace. Go Bills!

You know what would make this team stronger? Trading away our best d-lineman. That's the ticket!

  4. If we end up getting either Gaither or Brown for the left side how much of a disaster are we?

Levitre: Started all 16 and was NFL all rookie team

Hangartner: was solid and stared all 16 games (PS this is one center not overpaid for what he can do only making 10 mil over 4 yrs, hell not much more than fowler made)

Wood: this guy is nasty as long as he comes back healthy

RT: only "weak spot"..who knows maybe green can be good enough

anyways we have two young guys in the interior who can get the job done and if you add a stud LT this line is going to be a lot better than just a disaster...

    +1

Coach Tuesday's analysis is terrible. The inside of our line is set and it's a darn good one too if Wood can return to form. We are very weak at T. Nonetheless, a trade a a legitimate starter turns what would have been a below average starter (Bell/Wang) into a pretty decent backup. The OL is 2 players away from being a strength. 1 player away from being respectable.

  5. 2nd round pick is too high to give up for him.

Ridiculous. I'm so sick of asinine comments like this one. The draft is just one of 3 ways to add someone to your team- 1) Free Agency 2) Trades 3) The Draft. Rookies are unproven commodities, but we get so excited about them because we hope somehow they can become all pros at their position.

Gaither is a pro bowler. At best, our second rd draft pick would be the 33rd ROOKIE taken next year. Your position is that Gaither, who has proven he can be a dominant left tackle, is worth less then the OPPORTUNITY to draft the 33rd best player available in the draft? Gaither has shown he can be a top 8 tackle in this league. There is no guarantee that ANY of the tackles available next year could be that good, let alone one taken in the 2nd round.

  6. I'd like to know if Edwards and Fitz were given the opportunity to participate and turned it down, or whether they just extended the opportunity to Brohm alone? If it's the latter, then that's a clear indication of who they want to win the job.

Only 1st and second year players are allowed to attend. It's right there in the article.

  7. Don Banks is the kind of writer, IMO, who looks at the transactions lists for teams and if recognizes names added off the bat it's good and if he recognizes names that have been let go off the bat it's bad. No further analysis needed.

That's what most of these guys do. Seems about par for the course. Interesting that when touted acquisitions like Adalius Thomas don't pan out, the same writers who slammed us for not getting them ignore the issue entirely.

  8. Can we ban that moron for screwing up a good thing? Tim's opinions are one of the main things that brought me back to this site after a lengthy layoff. He will be missed. The incoherent ramblings of a buffoon on the other hand, will not.

  9. Chris Brown is that guy from high school who wanted to hang out with the football guys so much that he "joined" the team by becoming the equipment manager. Nobody on the team talks to him, but he gets to tell his friend the lunch lady how him and the guys have to go on a road trip or stay late for practice.

  10. LINK:http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/23022/clayton-raiders-preparing-to-cut-russell

Now I know Russell was maybe the worst QB in the league for the Raiders, but he does have a cannon, and is young.

So with that in mind, any chance we (the bills) or you as a Bills fan, has interest is Russell?

Keep in mind, Russell did play for the Raiders. I am not making excuses for the young man, but it is hard to develope into a superstar, or even a good player when the Raiders draft you. No matter how good or talented you were supposed to be. (i.e. Huff, Gallary, McFadden, etc)

I am not under the dillusion that russell is the answer for the Bills, but if he were cheap and easily signed, would you remotely be interested?

    My answer: probably not

I knew it was just a matter of time before someone suggested this insanity. Terrible

  11. I think they like to get the goat of Chris Berman by picking on the Bills.

I also like how he irresponsibly reported we were "heartbroken" about not getting Tebow. Nix comes out and flat out calls that incorrect and nothing from Schefter. I have been harassing him on twitter ever since to make a retraction. The one thing I hate about ESPN is they claim to be journalists, but in reality they hold themselves to no code of journalistic conduct. You are wrong about something you print a retraction.
