  1. Right before they kicked it over to the game after talking about the redskins for 5 minutes he Eisen asks Faulk if he has anything to say about the Bills. Faulk responds with a verse annoyed "nope".

Eisen then laughs and says "They love you in Western NY"

Faulk says "They'll see what kind of a team they have"

Complete dick. At least pretend to be a journalist.

  2. Stub Hub has $4 tickets to that game. Yes it's pre-season but aren't you curious to see what we look like in a game situation? I'm super tempted to drive the 8-9 hours to the game, though I would get to see it delayed on NFL Network.

    PTR

I saw that. I am more inclined to get the lower level ones, which are only $45 FOR 11TH row. But the site says you have to pick it up at the "last minute service center." Has anyone used this service before?

  3. If going to the game, hope to see some of you there. Feel free to come tailgate with us in the Orange Lot. Bills Flag will be flying high on a dodge ram pickup. Hope to get there around 3:00 as I think that is when the lot opens.

It is preseason tailgating so it is our run through for me and my friends larger tailgate at the Ralph in October.

    I'll stop by. Drink preference?

  4. I'm surprise there is a journalist who actually does research. Saying a 6-10 team that lost only one 2 starters and was a fumble away from splitting the divison will be teh worst team in the NFL is just stupid. That's why, Gosselin is one of the best in the business. He actually knows football.

Correct. Nowhere was this more apparent to me than on draft day when Corey Chavous gave the Bills draft and A and everyone else was giving us Ds for not taking a tackle. You saw a difference then not because of the grade, but because Corey was the only person to realize that we addressed many of our other positions of need and he didnt think there was a top-tier tackle available when we picked. I don't even call it hating on Buffalo, people in the media just don't care about the Bills. It's kind of like, no matter how many crazy FAs Oakland brings in, you still know theyre gonna suck. I feel like we have been relegated to the children's table in the eyes of the media and they just don't really care enough to do any research on this team.

  5. You got it.

And I question TE's accuracy downfield. I'm not saying he isn't accurate, but I haven't seen enough of it to be sure he is.

He has good accuracy. What he does not have is good decision-making. Even a very accurate passer will look like a fool if he reads the defense wrong and throws a perfectly positioned ball into the path of a defender he never saw. He had some issues with decision-making before that big hit he took against phoenix 2 years ago and ever since then we a;; know he just takes the cheap way out and checks down rather than even bothering to make a tough decision to throw downfield when he is pressured. In short, I think Trent has good accuracy short and long, but his pocket presence is terrible and the latter influences the former.

  6. I agree on both accounts. Sure, he took a couple of games "off," but that hardly contributed to any losses. I'd say 14/16 games, he acted professionally and played pretty well. Everyone knows his hands aren't the best. His hands were terrible in Dallas, too!! But again ... his hands didn't lose any Bills games. If everyone else on the team worked as hard as T.O., we'd be perennial playoff contenders. The guy's work ethic is insane.

However .. it is, indeed, time to get younger at that position. As badly as I feel for Evans, in the long run, the development of the young guys is going to do a lot more for him and for the team.

I wish T.O. nothing but the best. Mason is an idiot.

    Go Bills!

I agree completely. He made the most of his limited opportunities in our festering turd of an offense, comported himself with class and restraint off the field and didn't lose his cool when we tanked. I haven't heard a single negative thing about him from the FO either.

  7. I was surprised when the Bills recently added Torbor to the roster... and then moved him to ROLB. Then, with him getting first team reps in mini camp, it spoke volumes... at least to me.

This may or may not be a clear signal that Maybin may not cut it.

If so, I can't think of a bigger bust that the Bills have drafted in the first round than him. Erik Flowers and John McCargo would be close seconds. The Bills did get some production out of the likes of Patulski, Harmon, Gant, Hunter, Miller, Bell, and Losman. But, I can't remember any of the Bills being drafted as high as #11 and getting virtually nothing, in terms of production. At #8, Whitner certainly hasn't shown he was deserving of that, but he has given the Bills moderate production.

He's been in the league ONE YEAR!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous thought.

I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberrys.

  8. Even if this were the last year of his contract, trading Lynch for a 4th is worth much less then getting a years production out of him; especially considering we have 2 other solid backs to minimize pressure on him and allow him to stay fresh and be productive.

The fact remains Lynch has TWO more years left on his contract and his salary is VERY reasonable. At that rate, you hold on to the guy and get 2 solid years of solid production out of him. The only way you trade him is if someone makes you an offer that outweighs the benefit of keeping a good running back for 2 more years and that would be a 2nd rd pick.

Forget the whole "so and so was a late rd pick and he turned into a hall of famer", we don't get that lucky and banking on finding a diamond in the rough in the 3rd or later is foolish. 3rd rd picks are likely to develop into decent starters and in some outlying cases, could be really good. 1st and 2nd rd picks are the money picks. Lynch, though coming off a rough year due in large part to his suspension, has 2 years to audition for a new job and I believe he should be well above average and he has the ability to be a real threat. Like I said, absent a 2nd rd pick, Lynch can whine all he wants but he is going to ride out his contract with us

  9. Chris Brown is not an actual journalist. His "analysis" and "predictions" are wrong about 90% of the time. The only thing Brown has is access as a member of the organization and he consistently wastes his access by refusing to ask real questions.

  10. Look I know everybody thinks I am stupid and whining but I'm simply not buying what they are selling. I really don't know if any ufa's or rfa's would improve the team and quite frankly I'm sick of this team needing so much to compete. Until this year I had season tickets since 1998 and this team has not stopped the run since Pat Williams left, has not had a serviceable LT since Fina, QB since Kelly (maybe Flutie or Bledsoe count for a year)...and every year I buy in and support the team so they don't move but I've heard the same Sh*& for too long I just want to see something different. IMO this is not different. I hope all of the rookies turn it around but now this is past pathetic.

    Yes

  11. Isn't it ironic that we by passed Colt McCoy deep in the draft, but we take some unknown, inexperienced RB that Indy discarded named Colt Simpson. "No offense O.J.".....

Wasn't there a free agent offensive tackle available not too long ago....Levi Jones or something like that? So instead

we draft a small time QB in the 7th round Levi Brown..."No offense Jim"....

Then didn't we just pick up a RB named Mendenhall? Well, yeah I know we did...but isn't the other one the one that

matters? We picked up another unknown!

    ...

It starts at the top..and as long as they hire coaches and staff on the cheap and avoid QB's in the first two rounds...they won't ever make it back to the playoffs! I see people predicting great things...that they are building towards..but it's all a

facade. Even when they bring a player along like Peters, they repeatedly have shown that they are not willing to pay what it takes to keep him. That is a fact and history continually repeats itself. The top teams keep most of their superstars..Indy will retire a Colt and Brady will spend several years on the Patriots unless he gets plagued by injuries. Good teams keep their stars, the Bills like the Bisons is a good place to watch some young players develop and if they become a desirable

player move on to a "real" NFL Franchise!!!! I hate to say all this, but it's the way it is and I'm a diehard supporter of da

Bills regardless of the product they put on the field every year. But, I'm not going to call a pile of sh*t a pile of Gold !!!!!

How original. You took the basic mantra of the doom and gloomers on this board "we suck, the front office sucks, our draft sucks, Ralph sucks" and managed to expand it into a self congratulatory 700 word diatribe. You were that kid in class who reminded the teacher he hadn't given out homework.

  12. I have been thinking about our OT situation and trying to understand why Buddy and Chan would want to trade for a very good LOT in Gaither that will need to be extended for very big money when all reports are that while he is very talented, he does not work extremely hard. This before he gets big money. The guys has made 5th rounder money for 4 years. Will he bust his butt to win after he gets a huge deal? Maybe.

Make sense that you would trade away a highly conveted 2nd rounder for Gaither given you like to build through the draft? Maybe, but probaby not.

Now, would you be willing to call and talk to Ozzie Newson and maybe float a low ball offer to start? Maybe, and it would make sense if....

you really would rather trade for Jammal Brown and give him an extension. All reports I have read (not many so please weigh in if you have heard otherwise) is that he is a good run and pass blocker. Have not heard if he was a hard worker and a tough player (Chan likes and wants those). Anyway, assuming the Bills might want them, wouldn't it make sense to trade him for a guy they love and have been pumping up multiple times, but does not really fit their defensive scheme? Yes, it does make sense. Kyle Williams. New Orleans was close to trading for B Cofield of th NYG's on draft and have been rumored to be interested in Haynesowrth. They want a DT. Now, while Williams is not as big as those guys, we know Gregg Williams loves productive migh motor defensive linemen. He fits for NO.

So, maybe some like... Jamal Brown for Kyle Williams and a 4th.

As soon as I just sold myself on this idea I looked up Jammal Brown's age is he was 29 back in March. If he stays healthy for 4-5 more years and plays at a pro blowl level, then it make sense. It could be that he is started breaking down last year and will an injury issue for a bunch more in his career. I think I like this option better then Gaither. Just my humble opinion.

    Peace. Go Bills!

You know what would make this team stronger? Trading away our best d-lineman. That's the ticket!

  13. If we end up getting either Gaither or Brown for the left side how much of a disaster are we?

Levitre: Started all 16 and was NFL all rookie team

Hangartner: was solid and stared all 16 games (PS this is one center not overpaid for what he can do only making 10 mil over 4 yrs, hell not much more than fowler made)

Wood: this guy is nasty as long as he comes back healthy

RT: only "weak spot"..who knows maybe green can be good enough

anyways we have two young guys in the interior who can get the job done and if you add a stud LT this line is going to be a lot better than just a disaster...

    +1

Coach Tuesday's analysis is terrible. The inside of our line is set and it's a darn good one too if Wood can return to form. We are very weak at T. Nonetheless, a trade a a legitimate starter turns what would have been a below average starter (Bell/Wang) into a pretty decent backup. The OL is 2 players away from being a strength. 1 player away from being respectable.

  14. 2nd round pick is too high to give up for him.

Ridiculous. I'm so sick of asinine comments like this one. The draft is just one of 3 ways to add someone to your team- 1) Free Agency 2) Trades 3) The Draft. Rookies are unproven commodities, but we get so excited about them because we hope somehow they can become all pros at their position.

Gaither is a pro bowler. At best, our second rd draft pick would be the 33rd ROOKIE taken next year. Your position is that Gaither, who has proven he can be a dominant left tackle, is worth less then the OPPORTUNITY to draft the 33rd best player available in the draft? Gaither has shown he can be a top 8 tackle in this league. There is no guarantee that ANY of the tackles available next year could be that good, let alone one taken in the 2nd round.

  15. I'd like to know if Edwards and Fitz were given the opportunity to participate and turned it down, or whether they just extended the opportunity to Brohm alone? If it's the latter, then that's a clear indication of who they want to win the job.

Only 1st and second year players are allowed to attend. It's right there in the article.
