  1. There are about 10 distinct reasons that NFL players visit and sign with teams in FA, and the Bills offer a lot of them to a lot of different players, including (if the money is right) a couple of the top 3.

A lot of players, especially older ones, want to play for a contender. That is the only reason they wouldn't come here. Some guys, sure, like the big cities, which MAY rule some of them out.

Kelly, I generally agree with your posts. You're better than this one. The "only" reasons not to come here are to play for a contender or to go to a big city? I love Buffalo, but there are literally dozens of more convincing reasons not to go there: lack of commercial viability, no time in the media spotlight, weather, unproven head coach, weird owner/CEO combo, longest active playoff drought, facilities and stadium that rank in the lower 20% of the league; on defense- no lb corps, on offense- no qb.

My point is, there are PLENTY of reasons NOT to come to Buffalo. I'm struggling to find many reasons FOR coming here at this point.

  2. The following teams are without franchise QBs: Arizona, Buffalo, Jacksonville, and Kansas City. The QB this year is viewed as average at best. Alot like the 2007 draft lead by JaMarcus Russell. That draft had no QB that has sustained success as a starter. In the 2011 draft Gabbert was viewed as a possible franchise QB but the questions about him prior to his draft have proven to be true as a pro. Cassell has shown that he is a quality back up and not a starter. Arizona and Buffalo will trake QBs this year. Next year Philadephia, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Oakland, Cleveland and NY Jets maybe in the market for a new starting QB, Those teams will be in position to draft a better QB than wasting a pick this year.

I actually agree with this point. Looks like much better QB prospects this year. If we don't get Geno at 8 I hope we go BPA 1-2 and take a QB in the 3rd

  3. Whoa, slow down OP. Exactly who am I required to respect? Athletes should be thought of as stocks. They are commodities to be bought low and sold high. Emotionally investing in anything other than a team is ridiculous. The moment Levitre left town I stopped caring about him altogether and I certainly never owed him any regard or consideration. He got paid to play a game to entertain me, now he entertains other people.

  4. We have holes in key positions and we have a lot of holes. We have holes at QB, WR, TE, OG (most likely losing Levitre), Safety, Corner, MLB, and OLB. Outside of Gilmore, we have no real depth at the position. Brooks has shown a lot of promise during the preseason but we haven't seen much of him. Aaron Williams and McKelvin are liabilities so I definitely see a need at this position.

This board is going to melt when we let levitre walk and draft warmack to replace him

  5. I think most of us would like to have him back. I think the OP is trying to find out if we want him back compared to what it would cost. My guess is it would be somewhere in the 5-6 million per year range to keep him. Something like 3 years 16-18 million, with 6 million guaranteed.

At that price point I'm on the fense with a slight lean towards letting him go.

Do you guys think my projection is high?

    I do. I'd estimate him getting a 3 year at under 10.

  6. I am hoping the Bills take Nassib at 8. For two reasons:

1.) because that would signify to me that Marrone and Hackett truly believe he can be the man and that would be exciting.

2.) because this board would be so hilarious with all of the hissy fits and doom and gloom. All the self proclaimed experts guaranteeing that he will suck and they are done with the Bills.

At 8? When he has a 3rd rd grade? I wouldn't trust you to serve me fries.
