And yet, the Rams won the 2021 superbowl with Rapp starting 17 games.

Go Figgur how such a stupid team with such bad personnel evaluation that the "average fan" can do better pulled that off.

Honestly, do you ever logically think through what you're posting here?

He's quoting the article, isn't he?

The exorbitant price was talked about yesterday. No way AZ gets another team to absorb all that salary and gets premium picks ala CMC as well. They will have to come down from that or keep a disgruntled player at a high cost.

Situation is what many here have been saying for a while - Rookie GM trying to play hardball with his pie in the sky wishes and other teams just sitting around waiting for him to admit he's being ridiculous. McCaffrey is 26, Hopkins is 30 and coming off an injury and a PED pop, even getting a 3rd for Hopkins would be above market rate for him right now because of his salary. McCaffrey had his contract restructured last season before the trade and his salary was $690,000; Hopkins has a base salary of $19.45M and $14.915M over the next 2 seasons, this is clearly a salary dump - He shouldn't be had for more than a 4th without AZ eating significant money, to think otherwise is ignorant by them.

This is like people selling a house and trying to charge you a premium because they spent money wiring the house for audio and wifi - I don't care about your add-ons, the house value is determined by the comp market, not your feelings.

That doesn't make sense and is actually opposite. A roster rebuild would actually favor Beane and McDermott playing more of their own draft picks.

Isn't that the job of the coaching staff to teach them?

The Chiefs' rookies had no problem getting playing time.

This isn't Madden, you can't expect to draft 7-8 guys in a draft and have them all start; you have to bring in vets and supplement with rookies. Once you have a roster that is set you would expect to be bringing along your later round draft picks into starting positions while the Rd 1-3 can battle for their positions as starters.

Agree.  Beane said he's not against more restructures, but gave the hint he doesn't want to do anymore.

This is why this deal could be VERY VERY complex to get negotiated, due to cap issues.  And would require us to kick alot of cap to future years.

Just extend DaQuan Jones and Micah Hyde 1 year each and drop their cap for this year, should give us another 8-9M with those two extensions.

We have not done the best job in the draft, however the parameters of the 5 year period don't really fit well for this team during that time period. McBeane were in the process of completely rebuilding the roster 5 years ago. 2018 team above; there are only 2 starters on Offense and 5 starters on defense from that team currently on the roster and we drafted exactly 5 of those.

I don't think Hopkins is holding anything up. Seems to be all on Arizona's end. Today I've seen three things that point to this -

This video from a Bills Beat Reporter in Rochester stating the people he's asked have said that we're interested "at the right price". If it were the right price right now, it would be consummated:

This article from Bleacher Report stating Arizona is waiting for leverage over needy teams - which they wouldn't be saying if the offers they were getting met their demands:

    https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10069916-report-cardinals-broncos-waiting-for-leverage-in-deandre-hopkins-jerry-jeudy-trade

And lastly, the most recent thing, a tweet from a KC beat reporter saying KC is out as is the rest of the league. Which reads to me like teams started calling over the past couple days, but didn't like what Arizona was asking:

Both of these were posted like 10 pages ago

Years ago, I used to work in a Christian bookstore. Old folks would come in and ask for a large print, compact Bible. I'd tell them, you can have the tiny Bible or the large print, but you can't have both. Seems to me the Cardinals wanting not to retain any salary and also receive higher draft picks is the equivalent. No one is going for that, so compromise or maybe carry an expensive disgruntled WR on your roster for the year.

They have a 1st time GM I believe. He's probably puffing his chest out trying to act like people aren't going to take advantage of him. We may get screwed by his lack of experience and another GM who just wants to make a splash.
