Just heard on radio here in Sacramento that the Cards are trying to send Hopkins and a 3rd rounder to Tennessee for the 11th overall.
Hopkins and the THIRD PICK for 11 and other stuff.

Would think it's Lamar
It's Lamar, national media guys started posting about a resolution to negotiations coming soon a few minutes after this poorly worded tweet by the local guy was posted.

Am I reading that trade correctly? We moved up from 59 to 41 AND they gave you 147 and 228?🤔
I traded a 2024 rd3 pick too. Figured we'd be getting a comp pick anyway so I didn't mind. Not sure why it didn't show up.

I've developed this fantasy in my head of the Bills drafting Bryan Bresee or Mazi Smith at pick 27, then immediately trading away Oliver and trading for DeAndre Hopkins. In one fell swoop we free up $10.7 million so that Hopkins becomes affordable and draft Oliver's replacement. Defense gets marginally worse but cheaper, and the offense gets a high impact player. I'd take that outcome right now if I could.
I'd rather take Keanu Benton in the 2nd.

I listen to Sirius XM NFL. On Moving The Chains today with Pat Kirwin and Jim Miller they discussed the sale of the Commanders. Then the topic turned to potenital sale of other teams and Pat Kirwin mentioned Seattle and BUFFALO. WHAT? Kirwin said he heard of that possibility. Maybe it's a wild rumor but this is the first I've heard anything like this. It's only been 7 years since the Pegula's purchased the Bills. The only thing that I could think that would prompt Mr. Pegula to sell the team of was the health of Kim Pegula ... but I am speculating. Has anyone else heard of this? Assuming there is any truth to this, what assurances does the county have that the new owner would keep the Bills in WNY (for new stadium)?
Yeah, he wants to build a new stadium and then leave it empty as a prank...

Only guys I’m banging the table for in the 1st or 2nd.
Bold 1st round1 - JSN - 6'1
2 - Zay Flowers - 5'9
3 - Jordan Addison - 5'11
4 - Quentin Johnson - 6'3
5 - Jonathan Mingo - 6'2
6 - Josh Downs - 5'9
7 - Tank Dell - 5'8
If they are under 6' tall I don't want them. Anyone other than JSN is a no for me in the first.
1 - JSN - 6'1 1st
2 - Quentin Johnston - 6'3 2nd
3 - Jonathan Mingo - 6'2 3rd
Not a single one of these guys is rated as a 1st year starter on the NFL's website and even though those ranking stink, I believe they are correct in this group ranking. People are talking themselves into liking avg WRs and pushing to draft them above their value because the position is thin. This draft is full of smurfs and we already have Deonte Harty, so who are they pushing for a starting position? Are Flowers or Downs supposed to start in place of Gabe or Shakir? Or are we "drafting for the future" in the first 2 rounds? Because QB is the only position you draft in those rounds and then sit.

This draft is FULL of short WRs, I don't want another smurf. Draft analysts pumping up short shifty guys without world class speed is just famine mentality. You can improve the passing and running game with a top end TE, I'd rather have one of the top 3 guys.

I like Keanu Benton, Gervon Dexter and Zach Pickens, in the 2nd - 4th

Great analysis!
Agree on all of this. Re: dime defense...yes, I would keep Milano on the field and roll with an extra safety/CB (perhaps Benford or draft pick). It's a deep and talented class at corner, could be worth consideration.
But my $ isn't on them switching to Dime, outside of team specific matchups (ie: occasionally against KC). I do like Bernard on passing downs, basically a big safety/big dime defense. He's versatile to blitz/instinctive, but lacks the size and strentght to be a 3 down player (IMO)
Rapp would likely be the extra DB in on Dime packages

They'd save 19.45m by designating him a Post 6/1 cut:
They have 20, but they're going to cut into that by half for their high Draft picks and their Practice Squad. And what they need more than anything is help in the trenches.
If they're interested in guys like Leonard Floyd, Frank Clark, Yanick Ngakoue, Isaiah Wynn, Dalton Risner, etc. and/or want to trade for players at other positions, they can do a lot with that extra 19.45 to rebuild their team.
And if he wants out and is going to be a malcontent on a rebuilding team, would you rather spend 30m in cap space to keep an unhappy player or save 19.45? Seems a no brainer regardless of their cap situation.
You're constructing a narrative and really butchering numbers to back up what you want to happen. Almost nothing in the above post is factually correct. If you want to present a real argument I'd be happy to listen to it, but the above is just hogwash.
You do realize that the draft doesn't really cost more than 3-5 because the later rounds don't slot in as top 51 salaries right? Practice squad players only count against the cap if they slot in the top 51, these guys are making 200k, you're just cutting 10M because it supports what you want, there is no 10M allocated for the draft "and practice squad." You can sign 2 of the above listed players and set the guaranteed money to minimize cap hits with the cap as is.
Please link any article stating Hopkins is currently or plans to be a malcontent? Wanting to leave and poisoning a team are two completely different things. I understand you want him on this team, I do too. But your posts boil down to wishful thinking and a lack of actual facts.

I disagree. I think it's legit. I don't think any team in the league is willing to take on that contract for a 31 year old WR. It's more about his contract than the trade compensation.
And now that the league has all sort of agreed they aren't paying the price, they've all realized that the team is going to have to cut him if they want any sort of savings. And if they do, they'll be able to get him for a MUCH cheaper price than his current contract and for no compensation.
They need cap savings in the form of cutting their WR1 why? They have 20M in cap space they aren't spending as is. They currently have the 8th most cap space in the league. The only reason to move him is to pick up some draft capital if you want to reboot.
