Alright, so hear me out. When we drafted Dorian Williams, i was like “cool, we got our guy!” But was surprised to hear that they think of him more like an olb.

Does anyone else think they may try to shift Milano to the middle and have Dorian take his spot?

There is no need to hear you out. This question has been asked and answered by the media to the coaches and GM multiple times and has been shut down by both parties repeatedly. McBeane have ALREADY TOLD US multiple times who will be competing for MLB.

  2. The media loves to pick a darling and then immediately move on to the next and dump the old team if they fail. I've been seeing most people hop off the bandwagon and listing us between 4-5 in the conference and a lot of people saying we might not even win the division. If Rogers wins a couple games to start the season be prepared for everyone to slobber all over the Jets and pick them to win the division.

  3. I don't think we deserved the hype last year with a rookie OC. I wasn't impressed with Dorsey either. Our success on offense was too reliant on asking Josh to put the team on his back. Our D is weak sauce at MLB and DE without Von. I don't trust our RT. We have a tougher schedule both in and out of the division. I think we are a good team, but I don't think SB hype is warranted preseason. Gonna need to see how everything comes together the first 4-5 games before I set any expectations this year. If we come out and start smashing people running 12 personnel I'm all aboard the hype train.

If that is the case, then we made a poor 3rd round choice.  SB teams need to make their draft count,

I've considered it a poor pick since it was made. They love throwing 2-3 mid-level players at a position and seeing who stinks the least.

I want to sign or trade Oliver. I don’t want to have him play out his contract and become a UFA.

    I’m very clear about that.

You've made that abundantly clear in multiple threads. I disagree. This thread is also about Poona, not Oliver.

What if they were able to sign Yannick Ngakoue? If they can keep Ed and sign Yannick, ok.

We absolutely could sign him and keep Oliver, depending on how much he costs we would just need to restructure Tre White, Dawkins and if we need a little more, re-sign Daquan Jones. We can also sign FAs to multi-year deals with void years to make their cap hits lower this year or just outright sign them for a mult-year contract. I think Ngakoue is probably a little rich for Beane's tastes though, I would be looking more at Houston or Clark.

Yes I know. They could also extend Oliver. I don’t get the logic here. How is a player too good to trade but not good enough to extend?

His value to us is higher than his trade value in the last year of his deal, pretty straightforward. There is also the very realistic possibility that they HAVE offered him an extension and he is looking for more money. Just because we haven't heard anything doesn't mean you should make assumptions.

Sure. Especially if you’re not getting any offers of a 3rd round pick or better. I like that cap space though. I think they’re going to extend Jones at some point creating some space.

We have plenty of ways to create cap space without making the Dline worse.

It’s a valid question.  Their DL was meh last year, but they just switched over to a 3-4 last year … a DL full of 4-3 guys definitely didn’t excel in the new scheme.

In their previous 4-3, Poona was a beast.

They also were forced to play him at DE, which isn't his position, due to injuries.

Stunned they got him but what a huge signing. Now let’s reel in DHop. I wonder what we have offered AZ, if anything yet. Would a 3rd and 6th do it?

If they land DHop with all the other pieces they’ve added, the burden fully shifts to McDermott and Dorsey to game plan and utilize all the weapons they have.

Cardinals refuse to eat any of his money. They told him they would only trade him if he agreed to take a pay cut. There is NO reason for a 31 year old WR to take a pay cut. He is back in AZ to earn his money and I don't blame him for it.

Genuinely asking, why do you feel that way? Seems like this is a defensive player that the Bills had their eye on since the early stages of free agency. Either way I like the deal.

Because it's what he wants and that's literally it. If we signed a punter he would be saying it was a precursor to shedding salary to sign Nuk.

  11. They want interchangeable LBs. It was pretty obvious who the mike was at all times last year - it was the 6'5 guy standing in the middle. You can do this, but you need to get bigger on the Dline. That's why we have about 42 guys who are around 6' 220 vying for the job, the D is changing.

Vorhees would be on the PUP all season.  This would be a future looking pick.

Future of what? He was at best a 2nd rd pick this year, we signed Edwards and McGovern and drafted Torrence to go along with Bates and Boettger. We have 5 players at the position. Our roster isn't good enough to sign players who don't even have the option to play this year IMO. Draft a projection and see if they can step up.

Smallest LB Corp in league, poor pass rush and overall poor front 7.  They won't get off the field on 3rd down and they are slow.  They haven't upgraded anywhere on defense.  Not physical enough.

I'm not confident in the front 7 outside of Milano at all.  They are not physical at all

Agreed, but I prefer to think of it as a glass half full and I believe the lack of a pick on the Dline means we're extending Daquan and signing a vet DE like Mathis, Ngokue, Houston or Clark. From comments made in the draft press conferences I think they want to run 2 similarly sized LBs this year to help disguise coverages. I think the improvement on D this year if any is going to come from McDermott's attacking scheme vs Frazier's scheme.

  14. I actually heard a take on a podcast recently that I hadn't thought about and it made me change my mind about this trade being a possibility this year. Take went like this: Steve Bidwill is one of the stingiest owners in the league (charges players for drinks and meals) and their team is not winning anything this year. They said just from a dollars and cents perspective they didn't believe there was any chance that he would want to fork over this type of cash on a player if he could avoid it. I found that interesting and wanted to share.

  15. This thread is hilarious. 90% of the posters admit they don't know the player but heard he drops passes so they it's a waste. Hey, maybe the scouting staff who had him in for a visit and gets paid for talent evaluations know a bit more than you as you wipe the cheeto dust of your keyboard while vehemently hating the pick before watching him at all.
