When I watch it, there's no doubt in my mind that Spielberg was the major creative influence on the film.

Me too. I'm a die-hard Spielberg fan though, so I thought I was biased. The only ones I didn't really care for were Temple of Doom, Hook, Always, and Artificial Intelligence: AI. BTW, The Unfinished Journey was not really a movie, it was a 20 minute short produced for the millennium New Year's Eve celebration.

I'm not saying that the space programs should be completely stopped, but it's so damn expensive, that if they only cut 10% or so, you'd still save BILLIONS of dollars. I simply think at least some of that money could be put to better use here, on earth.
