  1. Had the Bills traded Henry prior to the start of the season, they could have gotten a 1st rounder, and no worse than a 2nd rounder and a pick or more later. They also would have had the same record. Now Henry will likely be the backup next year, because his broken leg and history of injuries make him unworthy of a 1st rounder, and maybe even a 2nd rounder. What a shame.
  2. Sorry Simon. If you didn't mean to bash Bledsoe for his "lousy" play today, I apologize. As for my "agenda," it's to cheer for my team, not go on a crusade.
  3. ICE and Simon are right. I mean, how could the Bills NOT score 47-59 points, instead of just 38?! How could Bledsoe just complete 67.6% of his passes instead of 70%? And I'm sure in some alternate universe the Bills' defense gave up MORE than 38 points to the Seahawks, and as a result the Bills lost. No, the 4-60+ yard scoring drives Bledsoe DIDN'T manage to fug up (in addition to the 51 and 15 yard drives) meant nothing because he threw 3 INT's. Bench him and bring in Losman. I'm sure he won't throw an INT ever.
  4. "The best defense is a good offense."-"Mel" the cook on "Alice"
  5. The Pats will see them in the playoffs. As for the earlier meeting, the Pats squeaked by at home with a 3-point win, with a completely healthy team, and thanks to 2 Edge turnovers at the goalline. I wouldn't be counting them as a sure win, unless it snows again.
  6. That's fine. Just do it AFTER the season and BEFORE you're about to get busted for smoking pot. Then it just looks disingenuous and pathetic.
  7. I still have no respect for him. Had he made his decision early enough so that he didn't leave his team in the lurch (even if it WAS the Dolphins ), I'd have some respect for him. Had he been willing to give back the money he owed on his own, I'd have some respect for him. Also had he tried to work out a compromise about limiting his carries, I'd have some respect for him. To me it's apparent that his drug suspension was the reason he retired, and that all he's saying now is just a coverup.
  8. Dilfer didn't come off the bench. He received the majority of snaps in practice that week and started the game since Hasselbeck wasn't healthy enough to practice. Even IF the game is in Bledsoe's hands, the Dols almost beat them with their collection of "talent," if not for Feely throwing the game away at the end. But I'm sure you think Feely is better than Bledsoe.
  9. Yeah, I guess if I were as desperate for championships (and weren't a Yankees fan as well), I'd accept the tripe the Pats have paraded out as "champeenship" football 2 of the past 3 years and make excuses for why my team needs to cheat/get away with stuff to win it all. But hey, that's what makes Pats fans so great. They're a reflection of society and the "fug over your fellow man to win" philosophy that's making this country great! You're real "winners" alright, and it's fitting they became champeens in the Dubya era.
  10. So Rams' WR's cut defensive backs, but when a DB does it to them, it's "going for the knees?" Kind of hard to cut someone and NOT hit their knees. Idiots.
  11. I think Indy now can handle the Pats, assuming it doesn't snow again in Foxboro.
  12. The Chargers will be in a bind. Since Brees is scheduled to become an UFA next year, their only real way of keeping him is making him a FP. The problem with that is it will cost upwards of $8M to keep him for a year. And then when it comes time to shop him for a pick, he'll likely demand that as his average salary, along with a gigantic signing bonus. You think any team will pony that up for a 1-year wonder, plus a 1st rounder? I don't but I guess it's possible.
  13. No he didn't. Both started the same number of games (13), but while Kendall was activated for the last game of the season, he didn't play in it. And prior to last year, Villarrial hadn't missed more than a game since his 2nd year in 1997. Kendall didn't receive a signing bonus. What he DID get though is $9M over his first 3 seasons, with $6M guaranteed. The coaches didn't like his size. And they also thought they had a LG, or at least one worth giving a shot to in Pucillo. Given the above factors, I doubt they viewed Kendall as an ideal fit for them, and probably would have been better served keeping Ruben. It could have been a Ruben type of thing with Kendall, i.e. he needed a change of scenery. But add this to one of the REASONS that made him unattractive to the Bills. I think the Bills realize they have a need at LG now, and may need to address other areas as well. Considering the "skill positions" are pretty much set on offense, and the defense will be returning entirely intact and have some good and promising players on it, the Bills SHOULD be thinking about upgrading the O-line.
  14. Too funny! Manning was making about the same as Brady the past 2 years, and his defense never came CLOSE to what Brady has had, and needed, to win a championship. Put Brady on the Colts and they ALSO likely don't win a championship because of, you guessed it, defense. Who knows, maybe the Colts' offense is good enough to outscore the Patriots, especially of Law and/or Poole can't come back or aren't 100%.
  15. "Too many excuses?" No, they're a bunch of reasons the Bills didn't go after him. The guy is 31, has missed almost 4 full games a year the past 3 years, and was given a load of money by the Jets. Beyond that, at less than 300#, he's a little light by the Bills' standards and his attitude was questionable after Green tossed him off the team. And it's not like he helped the Cards much, while the Jets have had pretty good O-lines for many years now.
  16. Too much money, too much age, too many missed games with injuries. Plus he didn't fit the scheme.
