  1. It's genetic. Everyone is stupid during their teenage years, if not longer (and in certain cases, MUCH longer). Sorry Smoker2Buffalo. You may be the exception.
  2. What NFL team cares how a player spends his money, as long as it's not on drugs or gambling (maybe it was for legal-age hookers? )? And as for the gas station thing, Travis owned-up to it and the girl admitted she lied about her age. A lot of players have done far worse things, and I doubt the politicians who wrote the statutory rape laws had a girl like her in mind when they wrote/passed it.
  3. Don't know how much he's been doing that the past 2 years, seeing as the Bills were tied for 2nd in yards per rush last year and tied for 4th in 2003.
  4. I agree she did something stupid. I mean there were 120 other kids, probably half girls, who didn't end up dead. But saying she should have known better isn't really realistic, when you're talking about a stupid (they all are) 18-year old.
  5. True. I think once the games all sell-out, the Bills will be releasing all their high-priced players to save on money.
  6. Here ya go. Surprise! http://www.projo.com/patriots/content/proj...ts.2038f13.html Not at all. He even spent most of the off-season in Buffalo and is in the best shape of his career. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20050...?tbd1071049.asp
  7. Hub Arkush? Pretty good source. As for Gandy, I've said it in other threads, but he had lousy coaching. He won't have that in Buffalo. The injuries are a concern, but the Bills have a pretty good training staff, and I doubt he'll be any more injured than Jonas, while a fraction of the cost.
  8. A player can hold-out anytime he wants. There are no rules for holding-out. Not unless Rosensleaze put out a manual.
  9. Like I told you the first time you said this, maybe if OJ had made the situation clear to Nicole, she might still be alive today.
  10. In a few months...
  11. Please everyone who is a Bills fan, buy as many tickets as you can, so that we don't have to hear half the stadium cheering for the opposing team, namely the Pats and Steelers. That's just wrong! I'll do my part next year, even though I don't live in the area.
  12. We were talking about "overplaying his hand" in player negotiations, bastid! Handled it badly? How? By not giving him away for a lousy 5th round pick in a weak draft? If that's your criteria, he's received offers of a 4th round pick for Travis right now, but is holding-out for a 3rd rounder. And with 4 teams still interested, as per Lenny P and others, he should be able to get that, and possibly more. I don't think he'll be traded either, just saying that he won't fetch as much as you would think he should. Oh and it seems Harrison is unhappy with his contract as well, but has been practicing with the team. Wonder if he'll eventually hold-out as well?
  13. I don't know. Maybe because McNally knows what he's doing and it's the first time since Jim Ringo that the Bills have had GOOD coaching AND continuity there? ...with a lousy OL coach, Bob Wylie. Ever heard of him? He was the OL coach of the Cards last year and thought Kendall was expendable. Enough said. Definitely an upgrade. As I said before, he's a beast in the running game and gave up fewer sacks last year than the combo of Tucker and Smith. He's improving annually, but admittedly I'd rather have a better player here. Here's hoping McNally gets Preston up to speed quickly. Forget the salary cap hit. That's water under the bridge and we can't do anything about it now. Harping on how MW won't live up to his salary won't get you anywhere. Just be glad he started to dominate towards the end of last season and that he's in-shape, motivated, and is being tutored by McNally. Again who were they all coached by? No one of significance. Coaching plays a BIG part in things. Just look at the Pats for proof of that. The Bills didn't draft for depth, true: they added it in FA. They added several guys with experience, and starting experience at that, not untested rookies from a weak draft. With a perceived hole at LT, the Bills didn't go after Shelton and won't be pursuing Verba. Doesn't sound like they're all that worried about LT. I guess we'll see, but I have more optimism for the O-line than you do.
  14. I addressed this in the 'Another Jamie Nails" thread, but Nails a) was a never-was as he never saw the field with the Bills and had one halfway decent season with the Dolphins before getting hurt and his career being over and b) Anderson has always been the weight he is now and was a dominating run-blocker with the Ravens, helping to open lanes for Jamal Lewis.
  15. As opposed to the "open doors?" Again, Anderson yielded fewer sacks than Tucker and Smith did. He also had fewer holding penalties (although more false starts, but if I had to take one, I'd take a false start since it's 5 yards and not 10).
  16. It takes at least 3/4's (24) of the (32) owners to pass something. If it's less than 8 owners who intend to "cook the books," and that's what it seems like, a resolution to call for an audit for anyone seemingly overstating debts will pass.
  17. I suspected as much when Butler refused to discuss a contract during that last season. And that last draft was so putrid, compared to the other drafts Butler has had, that I can only think he intentionally screwed the pooch that year. I mean, Erik Flowers and Travares Tillman with your first 2 picks?!
  18. Anderson has always been that big and was still a dominating run blocker. If he lost weight, he'd be a better pass blocker as well as possibly being able to pull on running plays. That would be a bonus, but I won't hold my breath waiting for it to happen. As for Mularkey's comments on the OTA's, did you mean he "couldn't be happier?"
  19. Compared to Tucker/Smith last year? Hardly.
  20. I'd hit her too. Though I'd make her remove a couple of layers of makeup first.
  21. They won't have a choice. The NFL isn't run by the minority like them: it's run by the majority. They are all part of a larger entity and they NEED that entity to make gobs of money. And I'm sure they've all disclosed their debt-loads in the past, i.e. when it wasn't to their advantage to cook the books, and any major deviation from that will trigger an audit.
  22. She's said that to me a couple times, and I've told her the reason I know she hasn't cheated is because she's still alive.
  23. BTW, the same guy as above wrote this correction, for Fox Sports today: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/3678374 "There are four teams still talking trade with Buffalo for running back Travis Henry and none of them are the Houston Texans, a team that I incorrectly mentioned in the past." So not only did he get the team wrong (Titans, not Texans), he also got wrong how many teams were interested (4, not 1).
  24. If the Bills felt LT needed addressing (and reports that the Bills "haven't considered" bringing-in recently-released LT Ross Verba seem to indicate that they don't think it does) and Shelton only wanted a 1-year deal, why not give it to him and then look for a LT next year? And they could have offered the minimum, heard what Cleveland was offering, and upped the offer, but again this would require that they really wanted him in the first place. Pissed off at what? That they didn't want to trade away a player who made the Pro Bowl at his position for him and his $3M a year salary, when he was going to be released anyway? And money has a way of smoothing-over hurt feelings. As I mentioned above, if Shelton were better than what the Bills have, the smart thing would have been to give him the 1-year deal he was seeking, and then move-on next year with the above scenario.
