  1. I think you're preaching to the choir. He isn't saying children should be left to fry or be run over, he is saying the lawsuit-happy nation we live in perpetuates a fear of helping others, no matter how innocent the intentions or the one needing help.
  2. No, Stan Gable, the head of the Alpha Betas. But he married Betty and decided to raise a family rather than play in the NFL. Of course, he got the clap, raked over the coals in the divorce and is now waiting tables.
  3. Uh, again, how does shoving a woman in a crowd relate to saving a child? I would certainly argue that grabbing anyone to save them from harm must be looked at with a common-sense approach. But what exactly was Johnson saving this woman from by pushing her?
  4. I shouldn't respond to this, but it is obviously not even close to fair to call Hardy a bust. And no one with even the smallest bit of football knowledge would seriously make such an assertion.
  5. Another fine piece by Chris Brown about the "Tone Setter"... When I hear about a high-drafted player not practicing hard, not caring that his play is below expectations, etc., I often wonder how someone could be so disloyal to his team, teammates and himself. Whitner, on the other hand, seems truly dedicated to making the Bills, his teammates and himself better for having spent that high pick on him.
  6. I agree, even though you'd have to go all the way back to 2000 to find a Buffalo-drafted second round bust (Travares Tillman). A second-round pick for the most productive tight end in NFL history is not bad, even if it is only for 2.75 seasons. But I am really hoping he can be had for a third and fifth.
  7. I don't see the correlation here, Cincy. I'm not understanding why people here are defending this a-hole.
  8. There is a report that the Bills offered a third-round pick yesterday... Someone reports Scout.com reports...
  9. The Shockey to Saints trade took abut 13 hours to be reported in the media. The teams are only required to report such moves to the league, which does not release the info until it has approved the trade. Often, such as as in the Jason Taylor trade, one or both teams want to energize their fanbase and release the information before the league does. I think this will do the opposite for KC fans, and the Bills may want to keep this from the Chargers for an extra evening.
  10. Again, do not be surprised if 4 o'clock comes and goes today with no news, only to wake up tomorrow to find out a deal was reached at 10 this morning.
  11. Thanks for finding that!
  12. Those teams all have tougher roads to the Super Bowl than we do. Strength Of Schedule Rankings (remaining games) Team ---- League ---- Conf ---- Div Iggles ---- 10 ---- 4 ---- 2 Jints ---- 20 ---- 10 ---- 4 Bucs ---- 21 ---- 11 ---- 3 Pack ---- 24 ---- 13 ---- 3 Bills ---- 29 ---- 15 ---- 4 Plus, the Bills have a head start on almost all the other teams Records Bills ---- 4-1 Jints ---- 4-1 Bucs ---- 4-2 Iggles ---- 3-3 Pack ---- 3-3 Standings as of today Team ---- League ---- Conf ---- Div Bills ---- 2 ---- 2 ---- 1 Jints ---- 2 ---- 1 ---- 1 Bucs ---- 5 ---- 2 ---- 1 (three-way tie) Pack ---- 15 ---- 8 ---- 1 (three-way tie) Iggles ---- 15 ---- 8 ---- 4
  13. There is no way the Chiefs can trade him to the Jints for anything less than a 3rd, presuming reports that the Bills offered a 3rd are true, no matter how much TG would rather play in NJ. And I am not sure they are willing to go bigger than a 6th. As for the other teams supposedly interested in TG (Bucs, Pack, Iggles), I don't think any of them have as a legitimate chance of reaching the Super Bowl as do the Bills.
  14. TG has done a LOT of work in the past two years to up his profile. I am surprised he hasn't danced with the stars, yet. He's even been on Oprah more than once.
  15. Although the deadline is this afternoon, I wouldn't be surprised that if a deal is struck, it won't be until overnight that it is reported. Such a move will be unpopular among KC fans, and the team gaining TG wouldn't necessarily want to tip off Sunday's opponent any earlier than it has to. It would likely be announced by the league first.
  16. I know this is going to sound a bit stupid, but here is Tony's e-mail address: fanmail@tonygonzalez88.com If you want him in Buffalo blue, it might help if a lot of us drop him a line saying so. The most widely distributed reports right now say TG wants to be a Giant and that the Chiefs' ownership wants Tony to be happy. So, I think it just might make a trade to the Bills more plausible if he suddenly received a few thousand e-mails from Bills fans. Remember how much Takeo said us Bills fans cheering for him when he was a Bengal meant.
  17. If we get TG, it would make for a great game there in KC later in this season.
  18. There should have been a suspension. That's the only real way to deter this crap!
  19. I didn't see #17 yesterday, so I think she was just added, and she is the bet one, so far. But as a group, this is sad.
  20. I want VD now!
  21. Yes, the Bills helped create some rules to make the no-huddle fair and within the spirit of the game. And then the Bills kicked some serious ass playing within those rules, whereas the Bungles went down the drain when their illegitimate gimmicks were outlawed. The Bungles ran more of a hurry-up offense than an a no-huddle. They actually huddled on the line toward their sideline so they could make quick and sometimes hidden substitutions, keeping the defense from its right to substitute.
  22. Five Guys is from the area in which I live now, greater Washington, D.C. They are good, but I really don't think they as good as Tom Wahls or Bill Gray's or Don's. So not to be called a complete homer, I think the best burger on the planet can only be had at J. G. Melon on Third Ave in NYC. I'd also say the burgers at the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park are great! Don't forget In-N-Out burgers out west.
  23. The Bungles are so bad they should trade away anyone and everyone who is going to be a free agent at the end of the year or getting old. It is time they start rebuilding, or just building, as the case it there. Stock up on draft picks and real young guys now.
  24. Has he been traded yet?
  25. I have to presume that was a major consideration when they picked today as the launch date. But I would think they would have been better doing this in late February or so. I am guessing what ever crew did this new site was behind schedule by at least a month or two. I love Chris Brown's blog. I check it right after I hit TBD and right before I check Tim Graham's blog.
