  1. My father in law is trying to convince me to get a 150 dollar slingbox (?) Basically via the internet I hook it up to my say parents cable box in Buffalo and sync it somehow thru my TV. I can then watch and even control what they watch on that specific receiver at my home here in Virginia....so all the Bills games. Is this possible? Is the stream quality good? Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

This is exactly what do, two seasons and running. It works great! I'd suggest connecting the Slingbox to the router at his house for a better experience.

How is the QUALITY of the streamed content?

The quality is actually very good, especially if you connect the slingbox via Ethernet to the router. I have the app on my galaxy note and cast it right to my tv. It's super easy and very good quality for a streaming video.

  2.

There have been polls. But if you make that poll with your wording "Is TT the "real" problem, or is TT the long term answer," you leave out all the middle ground where the vast majority I'm talking about sit.

I'm speaking for myself, but I believe the vast majority are, at best, "undecided, but somewhat encouraged" as to whether TT is the long term answer, but believe what he's done so far warrants a longer look.

If you think this poll should be created and you think wording is key, you should create that poll. But again, we had something like that as a poll over at BBMB, and it truly was a vocal minority who thought TT was "the real" or even "a big" problem.

Outside of the Seahawks game, I wasn't particularly encouraged by last year's version of TT, and I'm surprised so many are. We need better from that position if we want to become a legitimate contender. I'm in the camp of "I hope it was terrible coaching that made him play as poorly as he did for much of last season, otherwise, we need to use both of those 2018 1st rounders on a top flight QB draft pick".

  3. I've got more analysis coming, as I've now finished the rest of the league, but I do think I've identified why there is such a rift with blaming O vs. blaming D. Part of my analysis was totaling how many times over the past 2 years that the following happened:

Offense Carried: The team won even though the Defense allowed 24+ points

Offensive Letdown: The team lost even though the Defense held the opponent to 23 or less

Defense Carried: The team won even though the Offense scored 23 or fewer points

Defensive Letdown: The team lost even though the Offense score 24+ points

The Bills ranked as follows over the past 32 games:

Offense Carried: 0 times - T-29th most (Tied with Bears, 49ers, Texans)

Offensive Letdown: 3 times - T-6th fewest (Tied with Giants, Seahawks, Colts, Eagles, and Saints)

Defense Carried: 6 times - T-8th most (Tied with Lions & Bears)

    Defensive Letdown: 9 times - 32nd (31st was Chargers with 7)

So the offense has yet to carry a game where the defense has struggled, and the defense has let down our offense more than any other team in the league. Honestly, as sad as that sentence is, it sounds just about right.

YUCK. Thank you for some good analysis, but YUCK. The bright side here is that the those on either side of the argument can read your post and still consider their opinion is still "right".

  4. Well thought out and well reasoned- I think I agree for the most part.

You read it the same way I did - nothing was unexpected because these articles play into what was already his known strength.

It also made me wonder about the rest of his game as he was so much better under pressure and he was under pressure % wise more than any QBs - so his overall QBing the rest of the time was even worse than the average numbers project.

We will see how he does in a new offense with a new staff, but he has to get better in the normal aspects of the game and maybe some of that is designed rolls with out a lot of thought - just get rid of the ball. Time and space is his enemy - he needs to be instinctive and just make plays and that is part of the reason his timing was off, he struggled with throws to the middle of the field, and throwing timing routes to moving receivers. I have stated I do not think a lot of that was coaching - I think a lot of that was TT overthinking.

I'm sure overthinking has something to do with it, but do you think that part of it is that he struggles to see open receivers over the LOS because he's relatively short? I'm interested in seeing if Dennison does any rolling pockets this year to open some passing lanes for TT.

  5. No, get him out of here. I wish we had cut him before this.

    Why?

Let's hope he learns from it moving forward. Question number 3 for any sensible GM during the pre-draft meeting has got to be:

"When you have a car accident, do you typically wander off with or without your pants on?".

It's unreal some of the things that come out of professional sports.

Maybe a better question would be "can you ever envision a scenario where you are driving a car without pants"?

  6. Can we circle back to the original post? I've read it a few times and I'm not clear on what's being reported.

Are you saying that Polian said that A BILLS EXEC TOLD HIM that if Darius screws up he's going to be let go?

TO me it reads that Dareus (who is somehow now a Bills exec), told Polian (who doesn't work for the Bills) that he better ship up or shape out.

Polian told by Bills exec Dareus 'Ship up or Ship out"

    It's FASCINATING.

But for real, I think it's good that the team is telling these guys to get their act together, but agreed that the structure of his contract seems to lead you to believe that he won't actually be shipped out in the short term.

  7. I'm thinking (and hoping) that Shaw is right. Personally, I'm a little worried about how our QB is going to handle an offense that is at least partially timing based. I don't recall seeing many of these throws from TT over the last 2 years, except for some stuff on the sidelines. Maybe cause he struggles to see over the line? I'm hoping that the rolling pocket will open up some passing lanes for him.
