The punter is a silly overreaction. Crossman? That’s another story!  How is he still there? Castillo is paid to take the heat off of Crossman?

I'm with you.  Crossman is like a cockroach.  Just keeps on getting jobs even though he puts out below average quality.

There what is? There's a lot of quality posters from BBMB that are now on here. Take your 38k posts and cram 'em up your @SS. I don't really care if you have clout on a freakin message board. Go insult somebody who cares.

Alas, you are not one of them.  And I HATE it when I agree with Joe.  It makes me feel all dirty.

What? The Bills were down 3 scores the entire 2nd half. All they needed was a touchdown and they would've been right back in it. They played like they were down 30 to nothing the entire game. If you agree with the play calling then I don't know what to say.

Then that would be an extreme injustice to the veterans on this team like Lorax or Kyle who are trying to build off the momentum of last year.

Are you kidding me? LOL I've hated the Daboll signing as soon as it happened and 1 out of 4 games is not going to change my stance. If he can start putting together multiple games of competent offense opposed to getting blown out 75% of the time then maybe he'll earn my respect. Allen is what he is which is a Rookie who is going to be up and down regardless of the play calling. It's up to Daboll to make it easier on him which he most certainly isn't calling f*#@ing 5 wide sets on 3rd and manageables with a rookie QB, crap offensive line, and even crappier recievers. RUN THE BALL ! if you can't see that this isn't the problem then i'll be back to say I told you so when he gets fired.

Where did you empty your septic tank before joining TSW?  And does this mean you promise to leave until then?

I was hopeful that Allen wouldn’t be afraid to pull the trigger even when his receivers aren’t getting much separation. If the WR can’t come down with an accurate and well-placed ball, then that’s on the WR. If Allen holds the ball too long and gets sacked, that’s on him.

Right now Allen’s tentativeness is the most frustrating part. As a result he’s just a taller, slower version of Tuh’Rod.

That's what you see?   I think his issue is the opposite.  It's the hero ball that worries me.  And faith that our low end WRs can catch a ball that you just chuck up in the air.

The fact of the matter is that Allen may very well not be the guy.

For all the excuses, Allen did not look the part. There was an errant throw early in the game that I could have sworn I saw Aaron Rodgers literally shaking his head at. Now it could have been a coincidence that Rodgers and a teammate were laughing about something else, but it was BAD. I believe it was intended for Clay.

Allen is going to be the guy this season, but there's a very real chance we struck out on this pick. If that's the case, the sooner the regime accepts it, the better. We did a pretty good job of cutting our losses with Manuel.

He may or may not, but you would have to be a complete Shmeab to make that decision so soon.

His problem is not that he is scared or rattled.

His problem is that he wants to MAKE PLAYS, he knows that his line and WRs suck so he is trying to play backyard football miracle ball to make plays. If he knew he had longer than 1.8 seconds to throw the ball or he had a WR that would go up and catch the ball,  I would think he would be more willing to step up in the pocket

I agree.  I like that he wants to do it all, but he needs to be a LOT more careful with that hero ball stuff.

My post was not synonymous to simply stating "Allen sucks" as you present it.

I meant very specifically that yes, Allen lost composure in the game yesterday.  He was rattled.

You'll also notice that I complimented Allen by suggesting he has shown poise previously, which he has.

It was not on display in Green Bay, however.

I think he was referring to most of your posts from May - August.

Quarterbacks can't be ruined, for the 1,000th time.

This has now been brought up in about 6 different threads.

Josh Allen will rise to the level of his own ability, and stop there.

How high that is remains to be seen.

Just because you say something 1000 times doesn't make it true.  Any people manager will tell you that all people develop differently.  Some need to be coddled a bit before they can succeed, some need to brought along slowly, and some do better with just getting their butts dumped in the fire.  Personally, I think Allen will be the latter.

I generally think that is true, and EJ certainly wasn't ruined. But David Carr..... he might be the one example of a guy that was ruined. He got beaten up so bad his first year and a half he spent the rest of his career escaping from non existant pressure from clean pockets. I don't know David Carr would have been great.... but I know that he never had a chance the way his rookie year in Houston went.

    True.

As someone who isn’t from Buffalo. I have to say I love visiting up there. I have a second property a little past windham in a small town, and there is truly nothing to do there. That’s where me, and my family hunt. The closest shopping mall is in Albany. I currently live on Long Island 20 minutes from the Hamptons and it’s nothing special.

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the board, we got a chap predicting playoffs for the Brownies now that they're 1-1-1

Maybe folks should hold off on the canonizations and annointings all round.

What we need on this board is to memorialize all of these wild and hair brained predictions in some kind of accountability grid/matrix, where they all can be held up for ridicule after they fabulously fall flat on their face.  So we can say, "HA HA HA, you stink you turkey"!  And it would also give the guy who claims "I've been saying since the draft that Foles was going to cut Wentz's break lines" a way to PROVE he knew what was going to happen.

I'll give you another sobering thought.

Josh in no way shows signs of ever playing on the level of Rivers, who will likely end up in the HOF.

Some have suggested Allen projects out to be a Matt Stafford type, if things go well.

Matt Stafford?  That's what everyone is so excited about around here?

What the hell has that guy ever done?

What is it about Allen that gets your fur up so badly??

Marv Levy said something long ago to the effect of if you listen to the fans, you'll wind up sitting next to them in the stands.  The writer of that article didn't consider that apparently.

This.  I was set up to fail multiple times in the military and learned better through adversity than having an easy or only slightly challenging situation.  I think Allen's been dealing with plenty of adversity, professionally speaking, since he was a kid. Getting to a D-1 school, succeeding there without a top supporting cast, and then being drafted demonstrates this. He's got a bigger challenge now, and while it's not under ideal circumstances, it's not a fait accompli that he'll fail because his predecessors did.

Besides, the idea that he'll fail because Manuel, Edwards, and Losman did is just Bills fans conditioned to pessimism. It's a defensive mechanism if things go wrong and we want to say we're right. I've got more faith in that kid that anyone Buffalo's drafted at QB in a long time.

I feel like I am in the upside down....
