  1. ....and Chad Pennington....and the lovefest for Eric Mangini.
  2. I know you didn't ask me, but I'll answer... I'm "wedded" to cable because it's much less of a hassle than a dish (not to mention there's no way I'll get it if the wife has any say).
  3. They'll be showing the Fins-Colts. I yelled at CBS6 about this and got the following response from Sports Director Doug Sherman: So, the locals are blaming this on the big boys. I've never had any problems with Doug Sherman and have always thought he's been a good broadcaster/news guy, so I'd tend to believe him that this isn't the fault of the local station. I asked him if there's an address to which we can write scathing, expletive-laden messages to CBS (OK, I didn't say anything about the expletives to Doug Sherman)...if he gets back to me, I'll provide it here. I don't know what we gotta do to get the Bills some more coverage here. My theory is that the NFL is trying to encourage people to get the Sunday Ticket. Won't happen with me as long as it's on a dish.....
  4. Actually, it is. The red covers Albany (it's about 30 miles from the Massachusetts border - the red section looks like it's almost out to Utica) and my cable box this morning told me that the Albany CBS station is showing Miami vs Indy.
  5. We should also worry about what the hell CBS thinks is the appropriate market for certain games and quit whining about "not in HD" games. Albany, NY is getting Miami vs Indy instead of Buffalo vs Baltimore at 4:15 on Sunday.
  6. Add in the fact that he let particular players leave (Winfield, Pat Williams, et al) and then tried to address the OL by signing low-end, mediocre free agents and hoped McNally could whip them into shape.
  7. "Brad in NM" = Mort himself
  8. Great....another game we won't be able to watch.
  9. I think they'll have at least 1 national game next year, regardless of the Ravens outcome. Knowing our luck, it'll be at New England on a Sunday night where Mr. Bruschi returns from a mosquito bite.
  10. And what encourages me is that this nucleus of young players started winning and got a taste of pressure/playoff-style football. One would hope that would make them hungry for next season. Hopefully, the difference between this nucleus and the nucleus of 2004 is the coaching.
  11. Just watch....the Giants offense will score about 45 points this week and Coughlin will be praised for the move and rewarded with an extension. Then reality will set in during Week 5 of 2007 when Gilbride calls a pass on 3rd & 1 and it's picked off & returned for a TD.
  12. Hard to argue with that play as the turning point. If we want to talk about the most exciting play, my vote also goes with Parrish's punt return vs Jacksonville.
  13. Sweet! When does this site get updated during the week?
  14. Yes. We can't catch the Jets or Broncos, who both currently are 9-6.
  15. The "primary" flex game is the Packers-Bears game moving to 8:15pm, so the NFL adjusts a few others so the appropriate networks can get the games they want in the time slot they want.... My guess is that they're trying to spread out the games that have some playoff implications between 1:00 and 4:15. This one has some playoff implications based on Baltimore going for a 1st round bye against Indy, who also had their game moved to 4:15. Once I saw this change, I was hoping I'd be able to see the game from Albany...but I don't know who has the doubleheader this week.
  16. We could very well see it this way, but I think the usual units will start and probably play the first half - maybe more. If the game is a blowout either way, I'd really like to see Nall get some reps. The Ravens are still playing for a first-round bye (they just need a win to get it), so it's not like they'll be sitting everyone, either.
  17. Grr.....my bad. Still, wouldn't be a bad idea to keep the 12 days notice.
  18. Flame away towards me if you will, but I have to say that the throw traveled directly along the 25-yard line. Because the official never called it as a forward pass (IMO, he was scared to do so), the play stood.
  19. OK, but the link says that they have to make the announcement no sooner than 12 days in advance. Considering it's 9 days until December 31st, I would have thought the announcement would have been made by now.
  20. I'm pretty sure WTMM doesn't carry the Bills anymore. But they are definitely on both 103.5 and 103.9 FM in Albany.
  21. I never really understood the blackout rule, anyway.....does the NFL lose money if they broadcast the game to the local market that's not sold out? It's not like CBS isn't going to send their crew to the game, so what point does it prove?
  22. I don't know if I'd call it "arrogant"...but it probably wouldn't have been a bad idea to do this. This is the once-every-6-year occurrence where Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday, so many people have Christmas shopping/parties/celebrations as their priority and would rather watch the games while sitting next to the fire.
  23. This really isn't parity. Parity is when a lot of the teams are evenly-matched, which usually results in their records being very similar. If there was parity in the AFC, you'd probably see the division leaders somewhere no higher than 10-4 or 9-5 and the last place teams around 6-8 or 5-9. What we're seeing in the AFC is more of your classic statistical bell curve - some teams at the top end, some at the bottom, and the majority in between.
  24. Nah....all he needs is someone to create www.voteforkellyholcomb.com and he'll be the AFC's starting QB.
  25. And some of you guys need to remember that not everyone can physically get a dish or afford one.
