  1. Wolfe has my vote. Just get Matt Cassel off my screen
  2. Grew up a Sabres fan, but also became a Hurricanes fan after I moved to NC. Started going to Hurricanes games when they moved here - coincided with my kids being born and we went to games with them from the time they were babies. Became a big family thing - and me and my kids went to Game 7 when they won the cup in '06. My kids were 8 years old - I kept telling them "Don't ever forget this - Game 7 for The Cup!" πŸ˜› Never experienced a sporting event like that game - entire crowd stood the entire game and the tension was crazy. I had always rooted for all three local college teams while I lived here, but became a big UNC fan once my daughter went there 6 years ago - so celebrated their championship as well.
  3. Funny - I spent like an hour after the episode reading interviews Mando gave to different outlets about the episode which all got released right after - all covered pretty much the same ground - couple more of the better ones https://www.tvguide.com/news/michael-mando-better-call-saul-nacho-varga-season-6-episode-3-interview/ https://collider.com/better-call-saul-season-6-michael-mando-interview/ - Crazy that every person in the last scene (besides Nacho) dies in BB. I held out hope throughout the episode some miracle would happen but as soon as I saw who was there in the last scene I knew it was over - no one there could die because they all make it to BB - Mando talks about how the day before was when Nacho and Mike go in opposite directions - Mike truly breaks bad while Nacho breaks good - I held out hope Nacho would make it too because of the reference Saul makes in the deset in BB to Nacho and Lalo - in one of the articles it was teased they may explain exactly what Saul was referring to later on (how cool is it that a couple throwaway lines in a scene would be such a touchstone to a whole world/prequel the writers/creaters didn't even know would exist) - Over a few days in the last week I went through every Mike/Nacho/Gus scene in every episode (skipping everything else). It's amazing to see the intricate construction of the storylines weaved and coming together - all having to culminate in the BB timeline - I was thinking throughout the episode that one of Nacho or Kim could go - but surely the creators couldn't kill both, could they? Whatever the result is for Kim it seems like it will almost certainly be devestating - even if she survives and it is just their relationship ending it seems it will still be heartbreaking. At this point I feel like if she got killed or sent to jail it would be a jolt to Jimmy who wouldn't continue down the Saul path - but who knows
  4. Stevie Johnson! A friend of mine announced a pick a number of years ago - I actually can't remember how he got that honor. Of course since it was a Bills selection they were in commercial when he did it πŸ˜›
  5. It's kind of crazy to think about all the moves Beane made well in advance to get the draft capital to be able to make moves - then the determination and moves before and during the draft to be in the position to get the guy they wanted
  6. Wow just watched the Miller PC - what an impressive guy. You get the sense that what he brings in intangibles and leadership will be extremely valuable along with what he brings on the field. Love the "I’m an open book and I’m going to force some of my chapters on them" quote in reference to the young guys Also love his answer to the rotation question - I'll do what they say - but I need to be in the game to affect it - when it's crunch time I need to be in the game - I HAVE to be in the game. Humble and hungry - "No one's going to respect you unless you come in and perform - come in here and work...I'm here to earn my teammates trust and respect...you gotta come out here and sweat, you gotta come out here and bleed" Also big props to the cafeteria ladies, maintenance workers, and janitors - shouted out multiple times. Partially joking - but it does speak to the quality of an organization from top to bottom when a new HOF player is praising people from the GM down to the janitors in a PC. Thought it was interesting at the end he admitted "When I was on the plane coming here to sign my contract I was like, brah I'm coming here to tell them like I'm going back to LA". You could tell the whole awkward "Von's first day in Bufalo" clip that he really wasn't comfortable yet and still had doubts - nice to see that is all behind him and he is fully bought in and happy/excited to be here now.
  7. He was also on GMFB this morning. Apparently he was a pee wee football phenom and had highlights that went viral. Told the story after one game the ref asked for his autograph when he was 8 yo πŸ˜›
  8. "Bills Win!" and "Mac Jones Sucks"
  9. My son got Britt's autograph (along with the Allen family) at TC
  10. Old enough to remember when Mario Williams contract was a big deal - that stuff is ground up and in the freezer now
  11. Excellent uses of Sunny meme - stevewin approves
  12. I feel like the laugh emoji should now and always be part of the QBs name Mac Jones
  13. It's fine to say "the cap can be manipulated" but all the people saying the cap isn't real are delusional. Players constantly have to be let go or not re-signed because of the cap. How is that not real?
  14. Reunited with McKissic
  15. Wow - don't let anyone ever yell you that what a coach/gm says at a PC doesn't matter
  16. When does the "Marquel Lee's First 24 Hours as a Buffalo Bill" video drop?
  17. Mac Jones can hold Josh's jock strap - well actually, he can't
  18. That's what I thought - all business. I also got the sense he was still recovering from the stress of the previous 24 hrs - and as normal with anyone after a big move to a new place probably still had a bit of doubt/apprehension. It felt to me like he had to manufacture some of the little excitement he showed. I'm sure that will change once he gets around all the players.
  19. I think the term rebuild is too nice, I prefer to think of it as just sucking for years
  20. stevewin approves this message
  21. Funny - coincidentally yours is the first post after the Bills PR release where he says in reference to Minnesota Miracle that one of the top moments of his life was giving his life to JC
  22. Wow finally got to watching - that really was a great PC. Some things I thought were interesting - Saying how things are different now with FA signings - used to be you typically brought a guy in first so both could get a first hand sense of fit - but now that doesn't happen as much now. They let Von walk around and talk to staff/coaches to let him be sure it was the right fit for him before finalizing - The comment regarding Von on it being tough decision to move from a familiar situation - he told Von he knows what that's like, he was in Carolina for 19 years and when he told his kids they were moving to Buffalo they cried 😒 - Said his son is a freshman at Alabama and they still talk about Levi Wallace in the football offices - success as walk-on etc - Josh and Diggs involved in recruiting Von - the excitement of players when they found out he was coming - Tre gave him a big hug when he saw him he was so excited "Guys (players) just like fans get excited" - Sounded like Cole approached them about moving on - was kind of surprised Beane actually put the Covid thing right out there, but not like it wasn't a known thing - Mentioning Star wasn't the same after Covid - and the challenge of coming back after a year off on top of it. He basically said Phillips becoming available sealed Star's fate. Mentioned that he knows fans were somewhat critical of Star's performance /roles. One thing Beane seems to really be in touch with and not afraid to mention occasionally is the fan perception of players - not that if affects his decision making but find it interesting he seems to keep his finger on that pulse fwiw - Didn't seem concerned about Bates - basically let the process run it's course. You know he has a plan B if Bates signs elsewhere - could also be fairly confident they will be able to match any offer if it comes - Didn't seem like they were working too hard on keeping Jerry - told him and agent at combine "keep an open door/communication but nothing beyond that" - Saffold was another guy on their radar for years - sounds like also a good locker room addition "leader/pro" - said Spencer Brown was impressed just the short time they got to meet - former teams rave about him - Mentioned Josh was excited Morse was back - Main focus first day of FA was "Let's get 1/2 DT's" - not a deep position in draft - Up against the cap now - for rest of FA "Shopping please come to us for as cheap as you can right now" πŸ˜› "Sell opportunity. Come here and we'll help you improve your value for next year" Definitely an impressive guy - continues to make you feel like we are in good hands
