The coaching staff should at the very least make Kelsay play with the 2nd teamers. If he fails to make some sort of an impact in that situation, then YOU KNOW the $6M man must go...

OK here is another anti Kelsey thread...
I have been really impressed by Copeland Bryan this preseason. He seems to play like his job is one the line.... well it is lol
I would like to see him play with the first unit to see if he can handle the play against the other teams first O-line to judge where he really is.
Now I wish Maybin had been to training camp because if he could handle the starting job it would be Maybin, Schobel as your DE's and Bryan and Ellis as your backups. The way Bryan is playing maybe he should start and have Maybin come off the bench.
Maybe this is a year early but why not??
I don't see how keeping Kelsey for another year helps this team. They did try to move him this offseason .
It would not be a shock to me if he is cut frankly. Right now I think Denney or Kelsey will be cut. I think Bryan and Ellis have shown enough promise to keep on the active roster.
There are always surprise cuts and I think your are going to see it this year from the DE and TE positions
Stupar I think has earned a roster spot as well. BTW
Copeland Bryan did get really good all of a sudden. Besides going against 2nd and 3rd stringers, how is he able to look so effective? Is he on the juice?!
Too answer your wishes: everybody would also like to see Nic Harris supplant Keith Ellison and Stupar/Nelson given a chance to supplant Schouman, but it probably wont happen with this coaching staff...

If Hangartner's performance this past game in the pivot is what we have to look forward to with 3-4 defenses this year, then this line needs to formulate soon. I know that having two rookies playing next to each other isn't ideal, but they are both intelligent and I believe they would be able to handle the responsibilities. Wood would be solid in the middle! Kent Hull part deux...

And also D Bell?
D. Bell got some playing time at LT with the starters and more than held his own. Perhaps the coaching staff wants to see if he is ready to move up sooner rather than later. It would of course jumble the OL once again, but if Bell can continue to hold his own against the other team's starters, my OL would look like this:
LT: D. Bell
LG: Andy Levitre
C: Eric Wood
RG: Brad Butler
RT: Langston Walker
Hangartner reprises his Carolina Panther role as first man off of the bench at G, C

I noticed that Tim Graham gave him props in his thoughts on the game. He had been very underwhelming in the preseason so far. Did he step it up last night or what? It's looking more and more like we're going to have to count on this guy to make plays this year. For those who got the game live...how did he look?
McCargo was active, which was nice to see. He also blew up Puke Preston on a GB fumble (unfortunately Puke recovered the fumble).

There is A LOT of blame to go around with this team, but I would not put it on Evans. He cannot throw the ball to himself people. Insert Evans into Indy's offense and watch Peyton Manning make him a bonafide star...
-
i dont know but the announcers were complimenting the play of our new center the whole time he was in there.
the rookies will struggle early primarily livitire however i believe they will be very good.
butler will be a very good RT and walker is better than peters was the last 2 years.
peters by the way is getting ripped in philly. once again he is hurt and the coaching staff keeps making excuses for his piss poor play.
believe it or not their last excuse which affected his play was the snap count. are you freaking kidding me.
give this line some time. we still have 2 more games. they will only improve as time goes on.
Really?! I must have missed those accolades. But what I did see is Hangartner get bowled over by Raji twice... There was a reason why he couldnt hold a starting position in Carolina; this year, we'll see why (unfortunately)...

In: Stupar, Omon, Nic Harris
Out: KELSAY (please!!), Cary Harris, Youboty, Shouman
Should be out and banished from the NFL: Dicky J
Charlie Coiner (Tight End coach) called Schouman the best TE on the roster, so either he was blowing smoke or Schouman isn't going anywhere. I also wouldn't cut Youboty. "You can never have enough CBs on your team" Cary Harris and Kelsay can clean out their locker tonight for all I care... Nic Harris should be practicing with the 1st team tomorrow. I hope that Maybin really turns some heads, because we have absolutely NO pressure coming from the DEs. Schobel is old, slow, and ineffective at this stage in his career...
-
#54 Harris is a player. He is in on every play. Rest of the backups look pretty bad last series.
He has stood out every game. It's time to get him some reps with the 1st stringers
-
Cary Harris is terrible
-
Well, statistically, a rookie doesn't know everything and might make a mistake that could cost you a chance to make a kick at the end of the game. A veteran is less likely to make the same mistake. It's a no-brainer really. You always play the veteran, even when he has 1/10th the talent.
Here, here! This defines Dick Jauron's philosophy
-
Stupar dropped one. Cut him now.
He is a productive player, it will happen. Just be patient...
-
Copeland Bryan needs to be playing more than Chris Kelsay
NO, we will remain status quo - Chris Kelsay is your starting DE, Schouman will remain the starter at TE, and Ellison will remain the starter at OLB
-
How has Copeland Bryan all of a sudden become a good pass rusher? Is he on the juice?!
-
Pretty bad, Edwards looked bad too, defensive pressure was bad. Teams still run at Kelsay pretty sucessfully. Needless to say there is still work to do. I would be stoked if I was a Packer fan; Rogers looks real impressive.
And to think that Rogers would have fell right to us in the draft if we hadn't mortgaged the future for JP Losman the year before. Oh well, it's all hindsight
-
I seriously want to see what Stupar can do with the first team.
No, we will be status quo - Schouman will remain the starting TE and Ellison will remain the starting OLB
-
Hey---just saw DJ clapping and saying "let's go".
He's ready to go home. Can you blame him?!
-
harris and byrd should be starters pretty soon
Harris I agree with, but I wasnt even aware that Byrd was on the field! He has to start making some plays before he can join Whitner or Scott as a starter. Noticed that I said "or Scott"...
-
hey...there is a familiar PBP byte from the announcer when the Bills are on defense:
"He drops back to pass...he has all the time in the world..."
Yet we felt the need to draft 3 more DBs this year, despite obvious problems in the trenches...
-
I would also like to see Nic Harris run with the 1's starting with the next practice
-
Weren't Arians and Gilbride the OC on Superbowl winners?
I know that Gilbride was OC for the Giants the year they shocked the Patriots* He called a great game too. Players have to start being held accountable. Our QB play has been terrible since Flutie's 1st season...
-
You're assuming Schonert found the press box in time for the game.
Im not placing blame on the OC. Blame falls squarely on the QB play, secondly on the OL play. We can keep running OCs in and out of here, but until we get another capable QB, it wouldnt matter if Ted Marchibroda came back to lead the offense.
-
Puke Preston just got pwned by McCargo
-
You know your team has poor leadership when your most vocal player on D (Donte Whitner)...complains on his facebook about fans ripping him on message boards. But hey, at least he knows Jauron is always there for him if he needs a shoulder to cry on.
Donte Whitner is merely a body on the field, nothing more. Again, Haloti Ngata would have looked better than great in Bills colors.

It's actually been around for a few days now. The full name is Trentative Checkwards. A beat reporter made it up, or something like that.
