Right on I have some music playing in the background, dogs chillin out on the bed, and I'm having a pretty productive first day...and I can take time to check out what's up on TBD whenever I want

It's gotta be cool having a guy like Mark Cuban as an owner...he's a pretty passionate dude!

Tiger Woods career in serious jeopardy?
ajzepp replied to truth on hold's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Can you imagine how silly that would have sounded just a few years ago? This kid was so much more talented than anyone else in his profession, it was just unfathomable that he wouldn't far surpass Jack in majors. Now the kid is in his mid 30s, and has won what, one major since 2007? What a fall from grace... -
I can't stand Kobe, but I've seen enough ball over the years to know that LeBron isn't even CLOSE to the same player Kobe is. I feel Kobe is overrated, not so much among his contemporaries, but in terms of how he's viewed among past greats. Same goes for Shaq. I don't see how anyone can have Shaq as a top ten player of all time. They guy was amazingly athletic for someone his size, but in terms of basketball skill he was nothing special. But anyway, back to Kobe...at least Kobe is prolific and clutch. I don't think for a second that he makes those around him better as Jordan did, but the guy can hit some clutch shots for sure. And as of right now, LeBron can't hold Kobe's jock.

I'm thinking twice, maybe three times per week should be perfect. I'll have the option of working all my hours at home eventually, but not sure if that would be overkill. That's awesome how that works out with you and your kids...it's great to have a job with flexibility If only you lived a bit closer.... I'll see if I can find out...I wonder if there are actual job listings for home based positions. I had never heard of this type of position in my field until one of my former staffers told me about it, so I'm thinking there are probably lots of opportunities out there...just a matter of finding them. If I come across anything that looks good, I'll either post it here or send you a PM. LOL!

Misery loves company lol. We're only a year removed from the last WC...if they can him now, we'll have plenty of time for the new coach to adjust and make crucial decisions before the next one. There's about a 2% chance it'll actually happen, but I'm gonna keep hoping someone comes to their senses...(talking to YOU Sunil) Wow, Gringo, you weren't kidding about Jozy's goal...it's been a long time since I've seen a US player hit a rocket like this from distance! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GixhRG5PK_Y I didn't see the game cause I don't have FSC in my new place yet, so I appreciate you posting your thoughts about these matches...I keep forgetting the damn tourney is in the US, too...just no excuse for us not dominating. Just based on some of the highlights I've been watching, what is going on with the manner in which we clear the ball out of our end? That is some HALF-ASSED SHIZNIT!! No discipline on this team at all...I don't get it.

Apparently it's quite a cost savings to the employer in cases such as mine, so I wouldnt' be surprised if this sort of thing becomes more common. My dad's last two corporate positions were both work-at-home, and I know a few other peopel who do customer service type of work from home.

LOL, duly noted! Dude, I even work off hours and I still hate the traffic lol. I appreciate the points you made, for sure. In fact, I remember back this past winter when I had to work a day at home d/t the weather...I worked an 8 hr day, but when it was over I felt sort of tired of being in the house. So i can see how that could get a little depressing. Maybe I'll set up shop on the deck when it's a nice day so I can have some fresh air from time to time. Seems like you guys mention the importance of keeping a routine, so will certainly be mindful of that Well I'm sure hoping my experience is more similar to yours than different! I'm the sort of person who can literally be curing existence when I have to get up, get showered, get dressed, rush to work in traffic, and then put on a happy face around others. So what you said in your first sentence is A-OK with me, brother lol. This is great advice...really appreciate it guys!

Once every two months??? Wow...lol That's a big savings considering the price of gas...very nice! That makes sense...I'm gonna try to create a small office space, so hopefully that will work. Nice to see other people getting to sleep in a bit longer, saving gas, and enjoying comforts of making money from hom

Cool, thanks. I think that will be a challenge for me at first, definitely. I really want to transition fully to a home office, so I need to make sure I stay on top of my work...maybe even exceed expectations. You must enjoy not having to worry about a commute, eh? I'm going to enjoy getting rid of that a couple times per week.

I am an RN by profession, but due to a few back injuries and being fed up with getting bit by the elderly, I took at "desk job" in February of last year with one of the largest insurance companies on earth. I do telephonic case management where I spend my day providing health information and working with folks on improving their health. It's not the most exciting thing in the world, but it's a nice break from the hospital and it pays well. Anyway, I was just approved for a "work-at-home" schedule starting tomorrow. It starts off where you get two shifts from home each week, and if your productivity improves then they eventually let you spend all week there. The hardest thing about this job has been adapting to cubicle life, so it will be nice to have a bit of a break from that. I was wondering if there were any other at-home workin folks who could chime in and offer some advice. I'm pretty sure I'm going to love it, but I do have a few coworkers who prefer to just come in to the office.

Really? I guess I must have missed those moments...glad to know he's not as worthless as I thought lol. I'm not sure it was the way LeBron was guarded that led to his suckage, though. Not saying Marion didn't do a good job, but LeBron was sucking plenty on his own.

lol So true. I honestly was really impressed with him when he came out of HS and I learned more about him. A few years ago it seemed like he was doing things on the court that I haven't seen since I don't know when...Magic Johnson? I liked him. Then you had the game when he seemed to "quit", followed eventually by "the decision", and his big "F-U" to Cleveland fans. I don't root for any Cleveland teams, but they are our blue-collar Great Lakes bothers, and I thought the way he bolted for Miami was pretty lame. Not that he doesn't have the right to play where he wants, but he could have done it in a more respectful manner than he did. Then all of a sudden you have him, Wade, and Bosh coming down on some platform out of the air, smoke everywhere, like Apollo Creed in Rocky IV. They acted like a championship was a given...not just one, but many. A dynasty. Well, the Mavs took one look at the dynasty and took a big 3-point crap on it! I quote it all the time cause I love it...but I'll never forget Curtis Martin when he was with the Pats, and during an interview about Deion Sanders getting lit up on a punt return, Curtis quoted scripture and said, "He who humbles himself shall be exalted...and he who exalts himself shall be humbled." Haha, I love that...

Exactly...to take nothing away from the Central American teams that are stepping it up, there's simply no excuse for this team to be regressing. Intelligence and strategy is exactly what's missing. That pattern you speak of is courtesy of Mr. Bradley, because I've seen him explain it in an interview before. They purposely play a "counterpunch" type of game, and it's complete crap. It makes no sense to waste an entire HALF of the match assessing what the other team is doing, and then hope to figure it out and come from behind in the second. It's absolutely ridiculous and it's time to change that crap. As I said in the other thread, I don't expect them to play like Barca. Nobody does. But the way Barca models their attack should be emulated, particularly the way nearly EVERY single pass has a distinct purpose and thought behind it. Further, when the shot is there, you have got to know when to take it. This is one of my criticisms of Donovan, but I think he's improved in this area quite a bit. The US team would get an opportunity in the box, but they'd continue to pass it like a bunch of morons. Nobody would ever take the shot. Some of these young guys are devoid of that trigger-shy mentality, thankfully. They just don't seem to ever really feel confident with what they're doing on offense, and I think that speaks to coaching more than anything. Ugh... I really thought they had turned the corner with that Confederations Cup win over Spain a while back...guess not.

Boy, it's a good thing we kept Bradley around... I know it's beating a dead horse, but for fux sake you have legit coaches with plenty of international success WANTING to coach here. Nothing against Bradley personally, I"m sure he's a great guy. But come one...if the powers that be for mens soccer in this country are serious about us taking the next step, then we need to upgrade the pedigree at the helm. I just don't get it...

PFW: Bills hope to give Evans bigger role
ajzepp replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Until they get on the field, of COURSE it's all talk about potential. What else is there to go on? That doesn't just apply to the Bills, it applies to lots of teams. Obviously we don't know what we have with several of these guys until they get on the field and start trying to make plays. It's also obvious that there are too many questions marks right now to "assume" anything about the offense. On the other hand, that is Chan's forte and given our lack of talent I think it's pretty clear they had some success last year in terms of showing improvement. Fitzpatrick has only been a starter when the player in front of him was out of commission. Who knows how he'll respond by being the #1 guy heading into camp and the start of the season. Who knows if CJ will prove to be a legit NFL caliber threat? Yes, there are lots of questions on offense... -
Congrats to the Mavs! I don't really have anything against LeBron personally, but all the hype they themselves created over the course of the season caused me to really want to see them crash and burn. As for last night's game, I honestly think Jason Terry should have won the MVP for the series. When Dirk was going through a cold stretch, Terry kept that team scoring and he was CLUTCH time and time again. On the other hand, how did that Marion guy ever make the team? I've seen him miss like four layups in the last few games and make some totally boneheaded turnovers....oh well, they won in spite of him. I"m really glad for J.Kidd, Dirk, J.Terry and the boys...I loved the comments of the coach after the game. He's like, "we're an old school team...we can't jump, and we're not fast, but we trusted the pass and each other". That's a great quote...I want to see them make another run next year. In fact, I'd love to see a finals between them and the Celtics ...and then after that, it should be just about time for my Sixers to make another run at the title

I think we'll have a very clear picture of what we have at the WR position about half way through this season. We need to see if Stevie really is coming into his own as a legit player, we need to see Easley in game action, and we need to figure out the future of guys like Roscoe and Evans. The fact that we still have guys like Roosevelt and Jones to get some playing time just speaks to how potentially deep this group really is. -

Yep, and with Fitzy being as young as he is, if he turns into a solid, reliable starter then we will be able to use our top pick next year on a position other than QB. The more I think about it, Fitzy is far and away the most important "what if?" factor on this team. I love the kid's attitude and his willingness to fling it all over the field, so I'm really rooting for him to take a step up and grab the reigns of this team for the next 3-5 years

That will be the thinking until Fitzy makes the pro bowl this season
