  1. http://espn.go.com/olympics/swimming/story/_/id/8279078/filing-shows-ryan-lochte-trademarked-phrase-jeah

This is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard in my life. Lochte has trademarked the rap saying "jeah". Just the worst.

I wanted to like this guy since he was somewhat local, even if he hasn't lived near Rochester in years...but as the olympics went on I found myself cheering for Phelps instead.

  2.

Good information..any wat to tell which is which? i'm thinking this http://www.sears.com/craftsman-42-in-21hp-briggs-stratton-hydrostatic-turn/p-07128851000P?prdNo=9&ViewAll=true might be a husky and the $1150. 42 inch i looked at today is an mtd.

Yep, that's the one I own. Tears through my 0.7 acres. I have some small hills that it does fine with, if you have any larger hills you may want something with a little more power. I can feel it struggle a little when I turn into the steepest part of my yard.

The only thing that concerns me with it is when you oversteer with the turn tight and hit a bump or depression, i'm always afraid something in the steering assembly is going to break. Hasn't happened yet so it may be stronger than I think.

Whatever mower you end up with go hydrostatic, shifting on the fly is so much nicer.

  3. I bought a craftsman last spring, has treated me well. More features than a big box deere for a lower price. Turn-tight is nice to have, don't have to swing wide as often.

My only concern would be Sears ceasing to exist as a company if it doesn't turn things around.

BTW, most Craftsman mowers are made by Husqvarna, I believe the very low ends are MTD.

  4. You wow pretty easy. What's wrong with keeping it amateur?

The wow was more towards the national disgrace. Even saying the NBA guys are all about exposure is a stretch. These guys don't need exposure, they could easily enjoy their summer off and live the high life.

I'm the last person to defend NBA players, I never watch, only college ball for me. But the olympics are about the best athletes in the world, so why shouldn't they play? They look like they're actually enjoying it too, unlike the selfish punks from 2004.

Then how did we win the 1980 hockey gold? And why is it so much more memorable to us than a NBA players win? I know the communist bloc cheated, it was a cold war thing. But they are gone, Make it amateur again.

Do you really think China would keep it amateur?

  5. Seeing all those smaller countries got me wondering in terms of percentage of athletes in regards to total population, who sent the most? Turns out it's the Cook Islands. Someone else already ran the data....

The US didn't even make the top 10, top 50, or top 100, ending up at #134.

The US couldn't make the top 10, 50, etc.....we send more people home in qualifying that could beat alot of these athletes from the smaller countries.

  6.

Looks great to me. I watch in through a built-in app on my Samsung TV and on my iPad. Only have quality issues when connectivity is low.

Thats the same thing I'm doing. The picture quality is fine, it just looks like the smooth motion or whatever its called is enabled that adds the extra frames making it look like a home movie.

  7. i thought Daniels' character's soliloquy to begin the premier was awesome. But i lean left.......

I lean right, and I thought it was awesome too. This show seems to be calling everyone out, at least so far anyway. Hope it stays that way and doesn't turn into a left sucks or right sucks type of show. We both suck.

  8. This "Includes", meaning that said job encompasses more than one aspect in addition to the aspects I mentioned. 3rd grade english language lesson aside, she has as much authority to tell the principal/assistant principal/any disciplinarian of her choice as the bus driver does....which is to say, a lot. I have ridden the school bus before amazingly enough. Not only does she have that authority, she is also able to force said children to separate from their clique and move to different parts of the bus until the problem can be rectified more thoroughly. Don't give me the "she was a helpless martyr to ruthless 12 year old" routine. If she was that helpless, like I said in my prior post, she should have been given the proverbial boot. And I still havent ruled out that she may have lambasted those kids all year and only backed into her corner when ganged up on. Elderly people can be just as brutal, if not more brutal, than children can be.

You've ridden a bus, wow. I'm glad that makes you an expert on school policy. You know, even more so than someone who's wife has worked in said school district. Looks like I have no choice but to take my ball and go home defeated, the internet scholars have beat me.

  9.

This includes punishing wrongdoers, and keeping miscreants in their seats, and in line.

Wrong. Her job is to keep the kids safe and allow the driver to focus on the road. The kids weren't doing anything to harm each other or distract the driver. She has zero authority to punish anyone. The only action that can be taken while on the bus is to have the kids change seats or require they sit down if standing. If they refuse the drivers only option is to pull over and have the kid removed from the bus.
