  1. How appropriate, I just changed my sig this morning.
  2. It's not that I don't want to watch and support them, I just refuse to waste time in my life watching crap. I'll never refuse to watch a game, in fact I get mad if something else comes up during a game. But if they are playing like a Pee-Wee football team, I won't waste time watching it. If the Eagles and Patriots were on the other channel and the Bills were getting blown out, I'd be changing the channel in favor of some great football. I wasn't all that upset when they didn't sell out (I got a lot accomplished with them on the radio instead) and I've taken more then one nap during a game this year. My company also has a raffle for two tickets to every home game. I didn't put in for this weeks because I have a lot to do today. Things I would have reworked for a good team that shows up to play every week.
  3. Can we get a list of the word substitutes used on the board posted somewhere permanetly? They are being changed quicker then I can pick them up, and I'm a regular. Others who don't visit that often must get completely lost with them. When did KzooMike get the honor of ignoran+ ????
  4. If you can try to find a place with a package price based on guest range, not per plate. I'm getting married next summer and we got a great deal at the Wydham hotel. Beautiful place with great food for much cheaper then the per plate places.
  5. This first step of self defense is removing yourself from the situation. Ask yourself, could he have removed himself? YES. He could have walked to the middle of the court or went to the locker room if he felt threatened. Just because you feel threatened it does not give you the right to attack. If he tried to remove himself and it didn't stop then he would have every right to defend himself. He became the aggresor though, there was nothing defensive about it. If the guy was 2 feet from him it would have been one thing, but the guy was 20 feet, give or take.
  6. Your whole arguement assumes that Artest had to go into the stands in order to prevent any further bodily harm to himself. Your case would hold no water in court.
  7. It's amazing how some people perceive self defense, like it gives them a free pass to attack anyone who has attacked them. WRONG. These people are confusing defending their ego with actual self defense. While self defense is usually a judgement call, there are certian questions any prosecutor, judge and jury would ask to determine self defense. There are escalating steps that must be followed by all. Straight from one of my criminal justice textbooks from college "You become the aggressor if 1) you were an active participant in the creation and escalation of the conflict, (e.g. you were in an argument that turned into an extended punch out). 2) you did not stop attacking after the immediate threat had passed (e.g. he was trying to disengage or had fallen and you kept on attacking) or 3) your response was excessive beyond the threat offered to you (e.g. you knife someone who just punched you)." Artest is guilty of all three. 1. He was not part of the creation, but was part of the escalation. The "attack" on him stopped and could have easily removed himself from the situation. 2. The immediate threat was the cup of beer, there were no following threats. Additional threats were created by his actions. 3. He ran into the crowd to attack an individual from a thrown cup, not a equal response. People need to stop confusing pride and ego with self-defense. Nobody is impressed by chest thumping anymore. You're a bigger man if you stop a fight, not continue one.
  8. Doesn't matter if you don't agree, thats what the law states. Go test out your theory on the street, see where you end up.
  9. What JO did was self defense, what Artest did was not. Clear difference between the two.
  10. Wrong. My best friend is a NY state trooper, he was at my apartment tonight. The average guy would have been in the back of his cruiser with cuffs for the same response. Try again to rationalize.
  11. Then you would get thrown in jail, because attacking someone who threw a beer on you and did nothing further isn't considered self defense, it's considered assault on both parties. Enjoy your stay, like Artest should. Your blind loyalty is a bit much when it fogs reality.
  12. While I agree that Moulds should stay, there was probably a better way to address that.
  13. First off, anyone who thinks that was great stuff is as much of an idiot as the fans and players involved. I'm no fan of the NBA but I am a fan of sports, and this was a disgrace to all involved. Any player that threw a punch in the stands should be suspended for the year and charged with assault. Anything less would be a joke. Players can NOT go into the stands for any reason. If you feel threatened, head to the locker room. There is no excuse, especially when it was a plastic cup you got hit with. Guy throws a plastic cup at me, if I were to respond with a punch I would be thrown in jail. You are expected to try and difuse the situation, not elevate it. Equal punishment for all. On the court between players is one thing, in the stands should be considered in public, not part of a sporting event. The fans that threw the cups and came on the court should also be charged with assault and/or inciting a riot. You don't get a free pass to do stupid stevestojan at a sporting event. You still need to abide by the law. Everyone involved needs to be made an example of. It's the only way to prevent this from becoming a more common thing in the future. Let these people off easy and you open pandoras box. This was a sad day for sports. If you took any pleasure in watching this you are part of the problem, not the solution. This was not sports, this was criminal.
  14. 1 more year of this twit. Can't end soon enough.
  15. Go with Dell. I've always been a builder of my own and was planning on it this last time. I priced the parts and compared them to Dell. It was cheaper in the end to go with Dell and I just didn't want to deal with the hassle or time of another build. Only took one week from order to delivery. Ordered the Dimension 8400 with a 17 inch flat panel for just over $1000. This computer screams. Been playing Doom 3 without a hitch. A lot of people complain about Dells service but if you know the least bit about computers chances are you can repair any problems yourself. All tech support is overseas now anyway.
  16. Did you know Toby Keith is a registered Democrat? Suprised the hell out of me. Carlin rocks. Saw him three years ago. His show is a bit political but he rips everything stupid. By no means a conservative bashing liveral love-fest.
  17. Just received the policy for my fiancees ring insurance in the mail. Get a load of this. Perils Excluded 5-D. The discharge of a nuclear weapon even if it is accidental Is this something they really need to state? Are they really worried that if a ring is damaged in a nuclear event, the owner will really be around to make a claim? And what lawyer came up with the fact that a nuclear event isn't enough, we need to throw in accidental!
  18. 92% 11 miles I tried to give California to Mexico but they wouldn't take it.
