What correct point you talked about air yards in a previous post and then saw that it actually went against what you were talking about so said the line of scrimmage is what mattered, you have not point whatsoever.

Billions and billions of historical events - large and microscopic - have led up to this sentence right here.

I think this is pretty close. The only player you don't have as at least an either/or who I think has a realistic chance is Tylan Grable. I'm just not sure they will be able to sneak him through to the PS and I don't think they drafted him on a whim, I think they are already bracing themselves for the possibility that Brown is out of their price range after this season if he has a strong year. If he shows anything at all in camp and PS Grable will get claimed if hitting waivers with his experience and his athleticism. So if they want to try and develop him I think the play is put him on the 53, cut Collins (not subject to waivers) and put him on your PS. If a team then comes and picks up Collins for their #53, so be it, you grab a similar vet tackle cut by someone else for the PS. Similar to what they did last year with AJ Klein, where they retained all their young dudes at linebacker in the 53 cutdowns and then stuck AJ on the PS (after a little flirtation with Kirskey as the PS vet).

People need to start bracing themselves for the MASSIVE contract Spencer Brown is about to get from someone.

I think it is a fair idea. Not an Elam guy, but really not a Burks guy so I would definitely hold on to Elam at this point. I am not sure Burks adds anything to the room. He is a bigger slower guy who lacks explosion but is very smooth in his route running and things of that nature. He catches the football. But least with Coleman and even Claypool you have elite athleticism with the size. Burks is so meh to me and I didn’t really like him at draft time but if our regime is intent on adding another giant to the room I would not be against it.

I will continue to drive the Terrace Marshall Jr train right off a cliff if need be. I think he could be had for very little. Maybe a late pick swap.

If Brady thought much of Marshall he’d be a Bill by now.

  4. Thoughts:

    - they were need-shopping, the tape proves it.  BPA is a myth.

    - interesting seeing Laura so involved.  She’s being groomed.

    - my goodness McD is tight - I thought maybe he’d soften up after the Dunne article called him out but he seems even tighter now.  Holy moly he is intense.

LOL.  You think Brandon Beane's "life strategy" is dependent on Chase Claypoole's career outcome in Buffalo?

Claypoole has been a "knucklehead".  He's down to his last chance in his NFL career.  No one is waiting on him, the choice is his.

FTR, I have known many family members and friends who changed their life ways in their middle 20s.  The only one who knows what kind of effort

Chase Claypoole will put in is Chase.

I don't know what Beane's life strategy is - but his football strategy, wrt to the offense, is hoping for best-case outcomes across the board.  Best cases that would exceed what EVERY SINGLE RECEIVER has accomplished in their careers to date.  It's a terrible strategy.

Agree, low risk/high reward type signing.

People keep saying this.  It is NOT low risk.  It is high risk.  Bringing a known loafer into one of the youngest WR rooms in the NFL has plenty of risk.  Hell, even the OC isn’t 40 years old.  Who is the adult who is going to alpha that group?

I do wonder if his basketball experience actually has anything to do with his lack of separation on routes.    Basketball is largely played in close quarters and plays made against contested defense get a lot more "likes" from observers.   It's not even close.   I would often slow down on a breakaway to make the defender try hard and look personally defeated at the basket.   It's part of the fun of that game.   I can't relate to "posterizing" an opponent but uncontested dunks aren't sh!t compared to dunking ON an opponent.   Even if the reality is that the opponent was totally out-leveraged and was just compelled to go thru the motion of attempting to stop the play.

I think there is something to this.  When you watch his highlights, he runs decent routes but he definitely seems to drift towards contact for some reason - like he seems to bend the route toward the defender a bit.  Like he needs to feel the defendant first before he can leverage himself away from his man.  It’s very odd to me and probably can be coached out of him but your basketball theory may help explain why.

  8. Just cannot believe how off-brand this is for McBeane.  Borderline desperate.  Maybe the youngest WR room in the NFL.  Drafted a raw but focused young WR to be the Alpha and they bring in this dog as one of the “vets” in the WR room?  The risk of this going sideways and Claypool becoming a bad influence on Coleman is huge given this guy’s track record.  But more than anything I’m surprised they went for a guy like this, I mean I guess Benjamin was a known loafer and Star too now that I think about it.  Never mind I’ve talked myself out of the point.

    Anyhow this signing is asinine.
