Curious, is that what you see when you look at this team?
I'm confused. My post refers strictly to our lack of cap space. We're at 6 mil with draft picks to sign and a GM who doesn't like to spend all the way to the cap.
Could more money be freed up? Yeah, there's some moves that *could* be made. But he's done a number of cuts and restructures already and I'm not counting on more until it happens.

Bills are in good cap shape. They have the ability to create some real space if needed. It isn’t a big limiting factor for them this season.
We have 6 million and have to pay draft picks. Not to mention, Beane doesn't like spending all the way to 0. Is there more ways he could come up with space? Yes. But that doesn't mean it's going to happen and I don't count on it until it does.
See: keeping Murphy last season and just skimming a couple mil off Addison and keeping him this season.

We've got to be in double digits with the signings and close to 200 million in cap space spent in under 6 hours. Bill's desperate and it's showing. Between the signings and the players returning from COVID - that's a *lot* of moving parts. May pay off in the long run but I don't see it all coming together this season.

Tight End market is insane today. Hunter Henry gonna bank.

If I was Diggs’ agent, I would say hi to the Bills 😆
If Agholar is 26 over 2 - Diggs should be at least 75 😂

You're a lot of fun at parties I bet.
Just ignore any threads that say the words rumor in the title and then you won't have to read about it. We get to talk about it in our rumor thread and you get to be in other substantiated threads talking about the same crap we have been talking about all off season because we ran out of new stuff outside of unsubstantiated rumors after the first week of the offseason.
If wanting to talk about credible information and shutting down obvious fake news on a place I go to for Bills news makes me no fun - I'm cool with that.
If we're just running with whatever because "nothing's going on", why not go balls to the wall? I've got a couple hundred Twitter followers - should I start a "rumor" we're in the market for Christian McCaffery?

Rumors are just that.. rumors. If they could be substantiated they wouldn't be a rumor. Why can't you let everyone have their fun and play the way if game.
Because it's ridiculous when you have a million people running around talking about it like it's a legitimate thing. Seeing comments about other RB's in separate threads saying "if the Hunt trade doesn't happen..."
Makes no sense from a cap or "process" standpoint to begin with. And it's all based on a guy who had 200 followers to start the day. It's misinformation of the highest degree until you hear it from someone, anyone, that actually matters.
-
What's his pitch?
"Hey man - if you get no real money offers and are willing to take a huge discount bc we're broke as a joke - you should come here!"

IMO this should be locked. Unsubstantiated rumor from a Twitter nobody that everyone's running away with like it came from Schefter.

I’m sorry is there a problem?
I can't speak for the guy - but I imagine the "dude" is in reference to taking the Kareem Hunt "rumor" seriously. Only one guy has mentioned it on Twitter and he's unverified and has less followers than some Bills fans I know. Not to mention, it doesn't make sense from a cap or "process" standpoint. Seems about as fake as it gets.

Will cost way too much coin
I'm not so sure. James Conner, Kenyan Drake, Chris Carson, Leonard Fournette, James White, Todd Gurley, Mike Davis, Matt Breida, and Malcolm Brown are all on the market as well. Not everyone's going to get top dollar.

11 pages for a "rumor" posted from an unverified account with 1700 followers.
I know Bills fans with more followers than that 😑

How often do these rumors from no name accounts come true?
Practically never.

I don't like this. He consistently put us in good field position. I don't think it's as simple as everyone thinks to put someone back there and have the kind of Pro Bowl production he had. Here's hoping tho.
-
On one hand - super cool to bring all 3 back. On the other - Beane said at the year end press conference that "this is not a Super Bowl Championship team yet". Using pretty much all of the cap to keep things the same instead of making improvements - it's hard to picture us taking that next step in overcoming KC in the AFC. Especially picking 30th each Round.

We didn't run out of money. Beane can easily make room if he felt it was a necessity by restructuring a contract like Dawkins to free up $10 million. Likely we will do that if he finds a guard in FA he wants.
The issue is with the cap held down and all the guards on the market, there are 5 or 6 guards better than Mongo who will all be getting around the same contract as Mongo. Why do anything until we see if we can get one of those guards first?
Yes, we aren't completely broke. But at 7.65 under, draft picks, and RFA's like Wallace, Bojorquez, and Boettger to sign - you're probably not fitting Feliciano in unless, like you said, he does more restructures. Which I'm not counting on until it happens. Just because something makes sense to us doesn't mean it's going to happen. See: Trent Murphy last season
-
Feliciano's a great Guard. But you pay your Right Tackle before you pay a Guard. And you pay your best Linebacker before you pay a Guard. And then you run out of money and the Guard is the odd man out. Sucks - but that's business.

So we have around 5M after draft picks are signed. Still need to resign Bojo, which will probably cost 2M. Matakavich is only 3.5M or so, a restructure can’t save us too much money. Unless we restructure a couple of our stars (Tre, Diggs, Dawkins, Poyer), we’re strapped and talk of a Jonnu Smith or Carl Lawson/Hendrickson is just that. Talk.
I agree. Unless some other moves are made, Milano and Williams will be our biggest splashes in FA.

This has to be the number before the Milano and Williams deals, right? Slightly confusing because he lists others as the number before certain deals, but not us.
Assuming this is the number after all the restructures before subtracting the cap hits of Milano (8 mil per spotrac) and Williams (6.15 per spotrac) - it looks like we're probably actually sitting at 7.65 under.

As a Rochesterian, there's nothing I'd like more than for Training Camp to happen at Fisher. And I expect a little more normalcy this season. But I don't see the league opening training camp to the general public as even a remote possibility. Even if they do, I imagine it would be extremely limited and requiring tickets that will go to sponsors and the like from the VIP tents.
-
I voted for Make an Offer but don't get into a bidding war.
I was thinking that maybe instead of making offers to McKenzie as WR4 and Roberts as KR - we make an offer to Cordarralle Patterson to be both. Probably a crazy idea, but just a thought.

Agreed. Maybe this is indeed the plan.
Two problems with @appoo's plan. First, we don't have Kenny Stills under a futures contract like Kumerow and Duke. We'd have to re-sign him.
Second, Addison took a paycut to stay. It's not out of the realm of possibility that he's released after Training Camp after everything's said and done (like Murphy should have been). But if he were to be cut before then - they wouldn't have restructured him today.
Poyer recruiting...

That you'd have to take a discount because we're (at the moment) essentially broke? That's not even a debate - it's fact.
