  1. Ummmmmmm.....FJ average 6+ yards a carry, the QB has a 120 QB rating, the offense puts up 26 points and you are calling out the offensive line? Wow....let's look at the priorities. Wood is far from the problem on this team. Give me a defense that can hold a team to 20-24 points a game and then we'll talk
  2. A bust is a Mike Williams type player. Whitner is a starting saefty in this leagueand although not a Troy P or Ed Reed he is a starting safety and will be for a decade....that is NOT a bust. Far from it. M Lynch is NOT a bust. David Carr is a bust, Akili Smith is a bust, J Russell is a bust, Tim Couch is a bust, Harrington is a bust and they were all the 1st or one of the 1st few picks in the draft. Half the top 10 players in EVERY draft are average NFL players. D Whitner has played and started for close to 5 seasons and if/when he goes to another team he will start as well b/c he is a pretty good NFL player. He was the only one making tackles today. When your front 7 is putrid and you have absolutely no pass rush it makes it very tough to be a very good safety. Did he make a TO today?
  3. Agree 100%...Perry Fewell looks like the best HC this team has had in 10 years! The guy got the most out of the team and now the Giants defense looks great their last two games as he gets a handle of that team and his players. Houston's offense and Schaub were overmatched by the Giants' D today. That guy can coach and I think you see it now by how superior his defense was compared with how horrendous this team defense is...with Fewell a DL and LB in the offseason would have left us with a good defense and we have a suitable offense right now that could keep a decent team in games. Why everyone thought te 3-4 was a good idea is beyond me for a team where it creates almost an entire new 6-7 needs and player needs for your defense. Every single player on the front 7 from last year is not suited for the 3-4. We really need 5-6 new players if we continue this ridiculous change......thet is going to take another 2-3 seasons. Think we would be better in a 4-3 with Haynesworth in the middle who wants to play for a team in a 4-3?
  4. I could not agree more with you. I was there too and they were horrible. They literally are horrendous. 80-90% of this board last year seemed so enamored with the 3-4 screaming for a change and as I stated back then there is just no talent for a 3-4 on this team and in so doing creates about 5 more needs on the front 7. The D was not very good last year but kept the Bills in almost every single game last year and if allowed to stay off the field for more than a minute as the Bills were at the top of the league in 3 and outs they would have been even better statistically. They also created turnovers. This team looked twenty times better with Fewell as coach and played with energy and heart. Had we kept our "old" defense (I know we were minus Schobel but he maybe comes back in a 4-3 with some leniency for his scheedule) this offense is fair and 26 points on the Jags wins games for 95% of the league. The Bills are probably 2-3 or 3-2 with even a fair defense. Edwards is WAY over his head and an objective defensive eye could come in and make it better. They are by far keeping this team back. If you looked at our D last year you would say get me a stud DT and get me a stud LB and I'll keep everything else the same. The way we are now makes you think we need a new front 6 of 7.
  5. I agree. And that's why you do not listen to mesage boards and fans as 90% of people here last year said change to a 3-4.
  6. McCargo actually looked like he was making progress his first season or two and you could guarantee him making a tackle behind the line of scrimmage. Then it looks like he just packed it in, lose focus etc..... He is not a 3-4 DE....then again NOBODY on the front 7 should be playing a 3-4. That is the coaches huge misake and Nix. By switching to that formation they created another 5-6 holes to fill. Very bad move I'm sure McCargo will be picked up by someone next year and fight yet again for a roster spot.
  7. I agree with you. He has caught a lot of criticism in Boston but he is a knowledgeable owner and knows how to make money in professional sports. I think he would be able to package some of his business already with the Bills. Also, the NFL would be easier in terms of the TV money already paying essentially all of the players' salaries. Much different than hockey. He certainly is a potential buyer.
  8. Please enlighten me where I am uninformed? By all accounts the Bills will cost $800M roughly now. Toronto according to the NFL thru NBC would have to pay about $500-600M to relocate the franchise. THEN they would have to build a stadium. Toronto real estate is very close to Manhattan prices and in New Jersey a stadium was just built for over $1.2B so $1B is a safe estimate. So I would ask you to correct what is wrong here....also you can enlighten everyone how making less than 1% yearly on a close to $3B investment is a good investment.
  9. The huge positives for the Bills are that we have a stadium already paid for so no debt service on the stadium and a great fan base that will come to the games even for a mediocre and less than mediocre team. Keep in mind if someone from Toronto wants to buy the team they have to shell out close to $3B (YES that is a capital B in Billion) just to buy the team, pay a fee to the NFL to move the franchise from Buffalo to Toronto about 600M, and then build a stadium for 1B. Even at a nice interest rate of 4% per year on just $2B that is $80M a year just on interest for a team that will make you about 10-20M in profit (for a 2.5-3B investment/bad ROI). The taxpayers of Toronto are NOT subsidizing an NFL stadium. One of the best things that happened for the Bills was Toronto not getting the Olympics otherwise they would have had an NFL ready stadium. Same with LA.....the broke state of CA is not shelling out $1B for a new stadium. Kelly likely does have a group ready to finance the purchase of the team and keep it here. The downside is no new stadium but I think we can all handle that with the Bills staying here
  10. New England has not drafted better than the Bills in the past 5 years...they have had very weak drafts actually. The fact they have Tom Brady covers up very poor drafts.
  11. Buffalo guy, went to Syracuse and lives and coaches in Florida
  12. I think the one plus for Maybin is that he is so young. He is only like 21 yrs old and has a lot of growing and maturing to do naturally. You would like to see some flashes but overall he still looks lost and overmatched.
  13. Evans with a great QB is a pro bowl WR....but we don't have that nor will we in the next decaade. Why create yet another hole for who Steve Johnson to be your number one WR? Really? That's who you want. He had one bad game......the guy has been a gamer his whole career and consider his QBs. All perrennial back-ups at best!! Who is the WR in the ENTIRE NFL with the most yards per catch (those with over 300 receptions)? Yep, Evans....you do not get there without being a good player
  14. Agreed...when everyone was yelling for a 3-4 and 3-4 coach etc.....last year, my response was always why? We have NO personnel for the 3-4 and this team currently is the least capable team in the league for a 3-4. Why not go back to a 4-3. We at least had a defense last year that created turnovers. This defense is putrid. It is not getting any better this year or next year without about 4 more players for the front 7. KW is a good DT in a 4-3....he is NOT a NT
  15. You could not have paid all of them at the same time and retained all of them. I would be happy to have retained Spikes and Fletcher and most of all Pat Williams. We were not going to retain Clements at that contract the niners gave him and the niners agree they way over valued his play....but I think he was worth more to the Bills and hurt the Bills more than he helped the niners. This goes to the point of all the idiots who want to trade Evans right now. Why? To create yet another need and another bad spot on your team? We have had good players....we need to keep more of them. Why Kelsay? I am still trying to figure that one out. Sign him for $1M next year if your feel you need to but $24M?????
  16. Anything less than a 2nd is a steal for Green Bay. Odds are less than 50% we get someone better than Lynch in the 2nd round next year if you use history as your guide. Lynch has a lot of value for our team.
  17. I'm shocked there is a college QB who is not nearly as good as some made him out to be. When the money is there....take it. Maybe this will make Luck declare for the draft seeing how Luck has turned from a top 10 pick to a 3rd or 4th rounder in the span of 7-8 months. Seems like a nice kid but this year combined with the fact his total record is horrible are major red flags
  18. Thanks...that is encouraging. You want someone who has played a lot and had to read defenses, played against decent competition and made good choices. And as history as a guide QBs weare talking about now have a way of plummeting later on (Clausen and McCoy, B Brohm, etc...). I'll have to keep an eye out for these guys.
  19. Yes...b/c that's what I said. It is single handedly the MOST important but not the only important piece. But face it if the Falcons have Chris Redman as their QB they are horrible. How come the Bills changed one player and they looked like a completely different team in a whole 7 days? Point being we would be a playoff team if we had Peyton Manning as our QB. Indy would be horrendous with Trent Edwards with all of the rest of the team the same. There is a reason Indy has OL that were undrafted free agents and guys who played in the arena league etc...They have an aawesome QB. I know Ralph is goofy at times but if I could have Ralph and Peyton Manning or Blank and T Edwards/Chris Redmon you'd be an idiot to pick the Blank team. And it does take luck at times. How about T Couch being the best QB your year to pick a QB. How about J Russell the best college QB your year you have a top 3 pick. It happens at times...now if you pick R Leaf over P Manning then you have a major problem
  20. Love the 3-4....great switch for probably the worst personnel group in the NFL to run it
  21. It's very easy...they were all BAD QBs. That is why none of them ever did anything of substance in the NFL. They were horrible for the Bills and horrible for their other teams. It was NOT the Bills have a bad OL, WRs don't get open, the OC is bad, blah, blah, blah..... If the guys were any good they would have played in the NFL again and done something. They haven't and won't. It is that simple! D Jauron did not ruin Trent. He is just not a good QB in the NFL.
  22. It would make no difference if he was owner if we didn't have a QB. The point is it's 90% plus about the player's and most importantly the QB. Why haven't we made the playoffs in 10 years? B/c we have no QB. Blank looked like a buffoon with the whole Petrino fiasco and lucked out they bottomed out the right year and got Matt Ryan. Lucky they didn't bottom out in '06 to have the great QB draft class of '07 with J Russell, Brady Quinn, J Beck, D Stanton and Trent Edwards. My simple point is that it matters a heck of a lot more who your QB is than who the owner is.....Ralph has certainly paid for free agents L Milloy, Spikes, S Adams etc...on those teams that had great defenses but horrible QB play. He has paid players tens of millions of dollars and WILL pay. Once we finally find a QB we'll be okay.
  23. So Trent Edwards is a horrible QB, we get rid of them and our coach and GM are stupid? Is that correct? What does that make the coach and/or GM who picks up Edwards? Will they go after that coach and GM? Where was the outcry from National Media against Wisenhunt and Arizona GM after releasing the former Heisman winner Leinhart right after the preseason?
