  1. They are doing it right. You know for all the Nix bashing, Whaley is the guy that runs Free agency to a majoritive extent. He scouts potential FA's then makes recomendations to Nix on who to bring in....which has been pretty much no one so far and I agree.

Peppers? Overhyped. Takes many plays off and is in it for the money only. He was going to the highest bidder which was Chicago. Funny, Washington didn't go after him....hummm....

Dansby? A 'good' ILB that doesn't rush the passer. He is so good Arizona just flat out let him walk. Nuff said.

Vanden bosch (sp). Pure 4-3 DE and he was going to play with his old DC so no one else had a shot.

Kampman? Sucked in the 3-4 in Green Bay, a pure 4-3 DE. Went straight to Jacksonville who sucks as well.

So tell me again, who was it exactly we were supposed to go out and get? I may be wrong but hasn't Buffalo signed a FA on the first day of FA every year from 04-09? What is our record over that time again?

So not only Nix doesn't feel there are any FA's that are going to make a drastic difference, Whaley who has spent a decade with one of the best teams in the NFL when it comes to finding talent, doesn't think so either.

Bottom line no matter how much Bills fans and local media B word and whine and complain, they are doing it right. They are cutting the underproducing fat, and they are not going to go out and just sign someone to appease the fanbase and I love it. I love the fact Nix and company are saying screw the whining fans and worthless media, we have a plan and are sticking to it!

If there isn't anyone out there that can really help your team in FA then dont' sign anyone. I feel when things calm down and some of these guys finally understand their true market value, we will sign a couple guys. But in the end this team is going to be built through the DRAFT first and formost.

    Who's Whaley?

  2. Buddy Nix said that if a player "did it High School, and did it in college he is probably going to do it in the NFL"

What player jumps out at you from this statetment? Jimmy Clausen. He was the #1 QB from high school, and started three years at Notre Dame.

If Jimy Clausen is within reach of Buffalo , i reall think he will be a Bill!

God I hope not...he's not a good quarterback and its not an improvement.

  3. Direct quote from the overview on pike today: "Showed decent arm strength, but was very inconsistent, longer passes fluttered, overall an inconsistent showing"

No the weight gain didnt do anything for me, Bradford coming in at 236 was nice to see, but since he won't be around #9, its a moot point.

I liked everything about this dude all year except for his unbelievable inconsistency. But he's raw, has the stature we needs, and if CG is the QB's genius he's touted to be, we should be ok with this guy.

  4. Going after a fading HOF back when the team is in the beginning stages of rebuilding a devastated franchise is absurd. The Bills presently have two backs who can adequately play the position. Why would LT want to go to a franchise which has little chance to make the playoffs and has OL and qb deficiencies?

John C....Dead on. That is the most dead on statement on this board this morning.

  5. From buffalobills.com

Despite a bitter parting after the 2005 season in Philadelphia, Terrell Owens and Donovan McNabb have apparently reconciled.

Owens, who is due to appear on the YES Network program Centerstage with host Michael Kay this Sunday, spoke about how he has patched things up with McNabb.

The New York Post quoted Owens from his appearance as saying the following.

“I can honestly say I appreciate those years and Donovan and I are friends and, actually we were just hanging out last night as a matter of fact. So it was one of those things where — again — it started off well, it didn’t end well. Sometimes, I wish it could have ended on a positive note.”

Owens was not only been a model teammate this past season, but has also apparently mended some fences with some former teammates. What it leads to in free agency in terms of offers is anyone’s guess.

As chris brown said this could possibly mean something for free agency. either we could to get mcNabb which is what some of us are hoping for OR T.O. will sign with the eagles and start again with philly and mcnabb. With T.O. and all his publicity stunts, this isnt that far from possibly happening. Thoughts?

I dont believe it because its extremely poorly written...but I guess thats what I can expect from BuffaloBills.com

  6. I highly doubt that NY is financing anything in NJ... no matter what the teams are called...

I thought I heard somewhere that was the case....I could very well be wrong...more of a question than a statement.

Either way, Im all for paying taxes for a new stadium...I pay a ton in taxes now, and the roads in my town are like driving through Bahgdad. Its the only thing I really care about and my taxes dont do anything for it.

  7. Go the route of the Packers when they upgraded Lambeau Field. Take the existing stadium, and make it a place where people visit in the offseason. Make it a theme park / museum of sorts. A statue of Curly Lambeau and Vince Lombardi stand outside the stadium like ghosts as visitors frequent the stadium year round. The stadium tours, Packers team gear stores, restaurants, and bars in the new Field House attached to the stadium make it a place you can bring your family for a day of fun. This would increase the revenue the stadium brings in by a big number.

Quote from Lambeau Field website (http://www.lambeaufield.com/stadium_info/history/):

If you want the Bills to stay in Buffalo, this may be one of the only options. And a much cheaper option than building a whole new stadium. This is what a "Lambeau Stadium Redo" might look like in Buffalo:

    or

http://i45.tinypic.com/10qko4m.jpg (Alternative with more 300 level seating)

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Just blow-up that piece of crap already and build a new city downtown. I dont care where the money comes from, and since none of you are financing it either, you should not care!

  8. Are you talking about the young fans that leave WNY in droves every year so they can get a decent job and afford a house with less than $6000 a year in taxes attached to it? If you're banking the future of the area on people under 30, you're not keeping up with current events.

While RWS is far from the NFLs best, it is also far from the worst. Ever been to Candlestick Park for a 49ers game? Now that's a crap hole and it's in one of the so-called best cities in the world.

RWS is utilitarian. However, it also gets ranked as one of the best in the league for tailgating. Considering the team has been crap for a decade, tailgating is about all anyone has to look forward to at these games and it's why attendance has remained stable. A new stadium does nothing but make the game-day experience more comfortable, especially for the corporate fat cats and not so much for the "young fans." However, it does nothing to improve the team. I'd take RWS and the playoffs any day over a new stadium and more 6-10 seasons.

If you're looking for state-of-the-art anything in Buffalo, you need to get out of WNY. It just aint happenin now or in the future.

sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh as soon as I read this.

Yes, RWS is utilitarian, which is basically my problem with it. I noticed you did not address my points to Miami and Tennessee. I can care less about tailgating and hanging with the likes of dirtbags like yourself. I like to party with my own crew before near a place cleaner than a SuperMax Shower Unit...ie, the parking lot.

I go to games to watch football, and the more comfortable the better. Im not about the tailgate going on in the parking lot, Im about the game thats being played on the field, how comfortable my seat is whilst Im watching, how accessable and clean the concessions and bathrooms are, and how well posted information as to what else is going on around the league is.

Partying "DirtBag Style" at a facility that was built exactly for that and promotes that type of behavior, has no draw for me. and PS, yes I've been to Candlestick, its not pretty, but it there's two things it does have over RWS, 1. I didnt feel like I should have been wearing an orange jumpsuit with NYSDOC on the back. and 2. It wasnt in the middle of a field with garbage housing and highway around it...yeah, OP is no prize (nobody's ever told those residents that).

    IM OUT

  9. To me Clausen does not have the look of a Manning or Elway. I say no more trading up and no more chasing players because of needs. Why not sit tight and draft the best player at #9 and at 41. We have so many needs that chances are high that this player will fill one. If not, then trade down and get more picks.

Agreed. Clausen actually sucks. You will see.

And why chase players anymore? Unless you see a real uniqueness I say draft where youre slated and mold.

  10. this is to all those young bucks out here who want a new stadium to be like every other city. i whole heartedly disagree for multiple reasons. the first, we have one of hte oldest AFC stadiums left and it be nice to maintain it and every 10 or 15 years give it a big rehab like Soldier or LAmbeau field. 2nd, it be nice once RW is passed on to rename it Rich STadium the way it was and is and should always be. Finally, the seating arrangement. no where else in the NFL (or very fewp laces) can people like everyone on here afford good seats and good tickets and be on top of the action. Have you guys been to these new stadiums? It costs an arm an a leg to get decently close (ie not below the third tier). When the bills and jets both sucked in 2008 i still had to spend 200 total for 50 yard line seats in the 2nd tier at the meadowlands. that place is a crap hole....

the browns stadium, eagles, ravens, bengals, etc - they are all the same. ive ben to them - they look and feel the exactly same. sure, the upper bowls are closer to the field then the ralph, but thats the ONLY place the average fan can afford to sit. luxury boxes take up all the great seats that we still have thankfully. so do club suites. and any time you build a new stadium prices go up, and our area can't continue to sell out games at an avg ticket price of 75/per.

WE need to be smart about this and take some pride in Rich stadium.

this is the article that says it best (and he hates buffalo as we all know):

    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story.../partone/081121

I made it all the way until roughly the end of February to say this............but this is the craziest S**T I've heard in 2010. Where do I start?

    1. $200 for 50 yardline seats..is cheap.

    2. RWS is not a treasure, nor is the Peace Bridge, or the other piece of garbage relics that have remained to stay constructed in the city of Buffalo....and frankly its people like yourself, and your mentality that are forcing, with all your might, out of Buffalo. Young fans with their money (who are basically responsible for the viability of the team, with some other variables) want to pay to go to an awesome stadium and root for their team. Not a place that is built like a maximum security correctional facility....which is essentially what that eyesore is.

    3. The stadium is in Orchard Park.....its almost like when they built this stadium, they said "forget downtown, which has 25 different ways in and out of the city, and with all their restaurants, bars, and ability to offer other activities...lets put this thing far enough out there that its a complete nightmare to get to"

The stadium is ugly, uncomfortable, plain, completely boring, but functional. Go to a game in a place like Miami, or Tennessee, when you get closer to the stadium, there are vendors with tons of games and parties and different things all set up for the fans.....get closer to RWS, and its a total crap hole, all you see is dumpsters and security. Its more of a penitentiary than a stadium.

  11. Schobel and Lynch to Houston for their RD2#50--I'm sure of it.

Houston wants a RB and DE out of this offseason. Source

Get Hampton for DT and you have the best Nose Tackle for 3 years.

Now I want the best 3-4DE in the draft (Odrick) and the best complement to Fred Jackson (Tate).

Trade Down to #17 with San Fran. They want OT and they like Anthony Davis. We get their #17, their RD3#79 this year and next.

    RD1#17 Jared Odrick DE 34

    RD2#41 Brandon Spikes ILB

    RD2#50 Jon Asamoah OT

    RD3#72 Dan LeFevour QB

    RD3#79 Greg Hardy OLB Mississippi

    RD4#104 Ben Tate RBF Auburn

RD5#136 Z Robinson QB Okla St

    RD6#168 Riley Cooper WR Florida

RD7#182 Blair White WR Michigan State

RD7Comp Nathan Overbay OT Eastern Washington

That would be sweet actually. I just doubt you'd see this.

...man the bills would never put a draft together like that.

  12. Niagara Falls Stadium. The Grand Island Bridge cant handle the traffic it has now at 5pm on a weekday, let alone a 70,000 football fans.

Tailgating. Really people think that a Niagara Falls stadium will have the same aura to it as the Ralph, and tailgating will be exactly the same. C'mon, it is not that way at all, it will totally change. Theres little tailgaiting at HEinz Field, the rest gets done in Bars. So expect Niagara Falls to become more overpriced than it already is.

yeah because when looking at where to put a new stadium, tailgating always comes up....dumb.
