  1. The more I think about it, the Nix run front office is definitely appearing to be "solid". Winning comes from above. One of the problems with the past 10 years is we didn't have a solid front office. Donahoe stunk and we've really had nothing since. Nix may truly be the key in turning around this franchise. The only problem is - if Nix really does turn around the franchise, we are going to need a long-term solution as he is already 70.

What about Whaley? He has to be in tune with this signing right?

Isnt there a positive in that?

  2. I don't know.

Why is somebody else's 3rd stringer now somehow our starter?

What has Troy Smith done since coming to the NFL? What, his upside is supposedly better than what we have on the roster right now?

No, if we need to make a trade it should be for a starting caliber LT.

I think veteran Jeff Garcia would have been an amazing signing, because despite his age and the debacle in Cleveland, he has lit it up wherever he has played. We could sign him for a 2 year deal, and draft the real QB of the future in the next draft.

I really don't see Troy Smith doing anything to bolster our QB ranks.

Because he's better than our starter (whoever it may be). and what has he done since being in the NFL...? The same thing everyone of our current roster QB's have done - Absolutely Nothing....but there's more upside with his mobility.

  3. That's easy. However some Brohm apologists , I'm not saying you since I don't follow who is the poster on most posts, are spinning like tops trying to defend the reasons why he ended up here. Some will use the match excuse as you did, but the simplest answer is that they were just trying to protect their insurance policy of a 3rd QB on the practice squad who actually knew the system for the rest of the 2009 season because bringing in someone new, which they ended up doing twice after Brohm came here because the 1st new guy signed with another team's 53, required teaching someone new the system, making that guy as worthless to GB as Brohm was to the 2009 Bills. (Funny, the Brohm apologists use Brohm was too new in the system as an excuse for the Atlanta debacle, but can't grasp why GB preferred their insurance QB to know their system).

I've often answered that question with the insurance premise & then asked -If they were so high on Brohm then why didn't they try to exceed the Bills offer. So far nobody has come up with a real answer to that one. The typical Brohm guy answer is "why would they exceed the offer if he was 3rd & would never start over Rodgers?" That answer backs my answer the Packers only were looking at Brohm's 2009 insurance value & nothing more.

The Brohm apologists have spun in different directions in the same threads. The best oxymoronic spin is the Packers didn't have the roster space to keep 3 QBs and that's the only reason Brohm was cut in September, but then they cite the "match offer". They claim the match offer is proof the Packers valued Brohm, yet this is the same team that valued him so much they were willing to get NOTHING in return when they waived him. Once again that logic only backs my insurance premise. Sure you can spin it that the spot opened up due to guys going on IR as the season progressed, but the bottom line is they did not do anything to protect their interests in Brohm until the Bills' offer-once again confirming the only interested in 2009 in season insurance premise.

Then there are the ones (like above) who will list all these UFAs & late picks who flew under the radar, got cut & either were picked up on waivers or spent time on a practice squad & then made it big. What they fail to understand is that 2nd round QBs are on everyone's radar & they don't fly under the radar like these UFAs & late round guys do. The chance of a guy who was already under the radar succeeding are much better that an early round bust, especially at the QB spot, who got waived already. Just look at how many shots the 1st round busts get-I can't remember any recent 1st round QB bust making it after his 1st team waived him, even though other teams have tried with guys like Leaf, Harrington, McNow, Couch, and of course our two poster boys that each cost us a 1st -Rob Johnson & JP Losman. Sometimes I think the Brohm guys are closet JP guys who have finally moved on to a new lost cause. (That is until we get the posts from the JP diehards claiming he'll now emerge as the man in Seattle)

Then there are the worse ones-the ones who don't even know that Brohm was waived, cleared waivers by all other 31 teams, then landed on the practice squad. They say things like "He was never waived, we got him off their practice squad". Those people who don't know how he got to the practice squad can't be reasoned with.

I've written off Brohm because history tells us that there are virtually no mistakes when a team lets a high picked QB leave with no compensation (unless he's a veteran salary cap dump, often on his 2nd or 3rd contract). There are plenty of late round mistakes because the guys are not scrutinized as closely, explaining the Warners, Bulgers, Hasselbecks, and Moores etc.

There's probably a ton of good insight here...but you HAVE TO figure out how to organize these thoughts and articulate the informaiton.

  4. Call me crazy, but I think this whole thing was the plan a along. I think that the Bills knew that unless Jauron made a hugh turn around he was gone by week 8. It doesn't make sense that Nix would leave San Diego as a assistance GM for a director of scouting position with the Bills. He was told once Jauron flopps it's your team, just play along. I think the front office knew that it was a long shot that they were going to land Cowher or one the other big names. So Nix was brought in to take over, he already had Gailey ready to go and in this pocket. ( I can't remember ever hearding Gaily's name mentioned as a possible coaching candiate, he just came out of no where). the bills played the game, interviewed a black candiate, interviewed Fewell to save some face. All the other candiates refused to interview because they knew Gaily was the man all along and nobody wanted to look foolish. Bill cowher recommended him so people in buffalo would accept it better. Gailey being in college recently and from the south, must of spotted Brohm, liked in as a player and told Nix that's who he wants, so the Bills went out and picked him up, telling Brohm there plan so he would leave the packers even after the pac attempt to sign him once the bills made a move for him. Then they didn't draft a Qb, because Brohm was the man all along. I also think that Fewell was told not to play Brohm unless it 100% needed, just so he didn't get hurt, and screw up Nix and Gailys plan. Why won't they play Brohm last year? They said it was because he didn't have enough time to learn the plays and that true, but the Bills were going no where last year when he came, if he crapped the bed, big deal. I think it would have been more important to get him some hands on game experence and timing with current player. If Brohm is named the starter call me a genius, if it trent, call me goat. I'll take goat for now.

Well done. I agree with everything, except:

    1. Black coach interview - I really dont think they interviewed Fewell because he was the interim head coach.

    2. I dont think getting him potentially hurt, under that awful O-Line last year, was at all necessary seeing as though they're rebuilding.

    But well put, great theory

  5. No, Lee doesn't deserve a higher rank than 33. Quite frankly 33 is 20 spots too high for Lee. Quit blaming everyone but Lee. Lee quit 28 games ago plain and simple. I have said it before and will say it again, once he signed his big fat contact he laid down. He barely even tries.

Exactlly...and where does Calvin Johnson rank on this list?

If youre going to blame it on the team thats around him, this might be a little reality check.

  6. If u are serious, hard to belive that you have posted 500 something times, and don't know what bump means,

but basically someone just psots something to pump up interest in the thread, as it appears more visibly in the

stadium wall section, with the more postings it gets. People bumping their own threads, now that is a pet peave

    of mine.

If you knew that already and were just being sarcastic, then just never mind, and that would not be playing

    to fairly now, would it?

No i honestly didnt know. Thanks.

  7. I'm sorry but you don't really believe that crap do you? The Bills sabotaged Losman??? :w00t: How about his lack of decision making, leadership, and ability to complete any pass besides throwing the ball up as far as he could and hope Lee Evans catches it. In his "breakout" season, here are the game logs: http://www.nfl.com/players/j.p.losman/game...amp;season=2006

He had 2 or more turnovers in 7 games. He passed for 200 or less yards in 10 games (and I gave him credit for an amazing 207 performance). The teams he had his best games against (Hou, and Mia) were among the worst defenses in the NFL that year.

I really don't hate Losman. But I hate that people still make excuses. He killed Mularkey, who has succeed with every QB he has had besides Losman and Joey Harrington. But I guess there's people in Detroit who blame Harrington not succeed on everything besides the actual player himself.

I wish my girlfriend was as naive as Losman fans. I could cheat on her all the time and she'd forgive me and make excuses for it.

Absolutely....50% of a QB's success and play is mental. JP got totally F'ed in Buffalo...

And I cheat on my girlfriend all the time, ends the same way, she forgives and makes excuses for my actions. You're either too chicken to or too stupid to pull it off.

  8. You live life once. You go to Bills games to cheer them on. I would be cheering them on as loud as can be when they are on D. If on O i would be a bit more subtle so that the offense can call audibles if need be. I would never give someone a hard time for cheering the Bills on. If we were losing then of course it would be a bit harder to swallow the cheers. But u can never stop. Always support your team. From what he said i don't see how he over did it?

What you're talking about is completely different than what I commented on. Cheer on your team, hard, soft, whatever....but stop trying to get anyone else involved in anything you're doing.

That was what that jackass was referring to. I said he was standing up trying to rile up the crowd, etc....

People like me are there to watch the game live, not to talk to or interact with the other people there. Its idiots like this that skew my concentration on the game. While this $***head is trying to get some attention from the people in his section, I'm watching the sideline, substitutions, who's on the bike, etc.

So I think you just read what I was saying wrong. Im just saying that idiot is a distraction, not cheering on your team.

  9. We may not live up to some peoples expectations, and i'm sure we will surpass a lot of peoples' as well. But we have a great young nucleus of talent. I don't care if people piss their panties about us possibly not making the playoffs this year. Maybe we won't!

But if we don't make the playoffs, at least we will know we are giving our younger guys valuable xp which will take us farther and farther for years to come.

I Friggin luv Nix and Chan's outlook on how a team should be. They are on the Same page and I like that a lot. It's really good to see how fans here are seeing and understanding what it really takes to bring a successfull team together.

And if you are a pessimistic bastard, then do tell, from your personal playing experience, what about your playing days has given you a bastardized/pessimistic view of how a team is built?

    Go Bills!!!

Honestly, I only expect 1 win...over KC. Anything above that, I think, is really a pipe dream.

But the idea is to get the foundation in place over the next 3 years. So really any improvements will be seen as a positive.

People who have even the faintest of thoughts of playoffs....you need to get the hell off the board and get checked into a mental institution.

  10. At the Ralph last year, I'm in Sec 112, Row 30, and I was standing up now and again cheering and trying to get people fired up (it's hard these days). Some lame fan a few rows back had security come ask me to sit down...It's a Buffalo Bills home game for cryin out loud! Luckily, I used to work secuirty at the games and happened to know the guard. I kept on doing what I was doing and everyone around me loved it, except for that lame fan a few rows back.

No, they didnt. I hate when tards like you do this. Go to the game, watch the game, cheer when appropriate, and get a clue man. Nobody is there to see you, its not about you.

You're an idiot for thinking anyone around you was entertained by your selfish antics. Those were not cheers or smiles from those people, its was the look an sound of embarrasment and uncomortableness.

    $***head

  11. its time for bills fans to either get a new song parody or just drop the concept all together, that song makes me wanna "puke" (sung to the tune of shout). really its a terrible "oldie now", besides it has embodied 25 years of failure for the bills, while celebrating every field goal........worst song ever :w00t:

    +1

That song is really sad. Like the Bills

  12. Well at least I won't feel guilty replying as I write novels too!...lol....

#1 Going to a Bills/Miami playoff game in Miami with my Wife and young daughter back in the early 90's when we had Flutie/R. Johnson. Can't remember the year, but in the end we lost a close game...a fumble or something near the goal line I believe. Anyways, We drove 24 hours to get to Miami, and did it in about 28hours or so. I did most of the driving and was exhausted. We had our minivan decorated with Bills writing and paraphanalia. When we got on I-95 in Florida we suddenly started to get a hard time! People were purposely messing with us, switching into my lane just barely in front of us without turning signals like they were trying to cut us off...It was horrible...Different vehicles would mess with us, and keep trying to cut us off. Then as we started to get closer people were swinging their dolphins out the window trying to outdo us. When we got within a few miles of their stadium it was pooring rain like a monsoon! I had to get gas and parked under a partial covering. I decided to use my credit/debit bank card instead of going back and forth with cash. The cashier told me that their was a problem with my card and step inside. I was getting drenched of course and you could tell the two punky guys thought they were funny. So I get back outside (I really needed gas bad)..and the pump begins and then stops and one of the guys told me they had to reset the pump and to step inside again...I do so and get more drenched! I'm trying not to show how p.offed I am getting....We played this game a time or two more and finally they let me get gas and be off. I pull into the stadium parking lot and I guess I was a little earlier than security liked so they told me to come back in about an hour. I drove around and wasted some time...and now I was two hours before game time as instructed. I drove to the will call parking lot and security turned on the lights and sirens on their SUV. They followed me and stopped me even though I wasn't doing anything at all wrong. They asked me a few questions and I told them that I was picking up my tickets at Will Call. They responded by telling me to come back tomorrow they are closed! I explained that it was game day morning and I needed my tickets prior to the game..but they messed with me a little more...Finally they let me proceed to will call and I picked up my tickets. Unfortunately, there was a mix up they said with my tickets and they put me in the endzone almost right next to their team mascot. Some Roman like guy that kept pointing at me and my family (yes we had our bills shirts and hats on). By this time I was exhausted from the drive and really wanted to be left alone. The usher asked to see our tickets as we walked down to our seats. I remember that older guy saying that we needed to take our seats and be quiet. He told us (me in particular) that if he saw me standing up or yelling or anything that I would be removed from the stadium. We quietly sat down and kept quiet as we were in enemy territory and were receiving derogatory comments already from the fans. People were throwing peanuts and empty cups at us without any cause, except we had Bills shirts on. This continued throughout the game and then every few minutes their mascot would point at me and so would would many of their fans! They were yelling stuff at me and I just kept quiet and hoped the Bills would win. After it was obvious we blew it and were going to lose people were rubbing our noses in it even more, throwing more stuff at us and yelling obsenities as well. We went to our car quickly and I removed all the Bills writing and stuff on the sides of the vehicle. People would still mess with us when they saw our license was from NY State and their were probably license frames saying Bills or Sabres on them. It was a long ride back and as far as I am concerned I hate the Fins and always will! Later, I will give story #2 and 3...but my fingers are worn out now! squish the fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, you're an idiot for the following reasons:

    1. You went to an away game with your family (consisting of your wife and young daughter)

    2. You bought tickets in the endzone....yeah yeah the will call mixed them up.

    3. You were driving a minivan

    4. You coated that minivan, in opposition colors....then drove to the stadium.

I mean, what in the hell did you expect? Was it your first NFL game...or do you like in a tunnel in Kaisertown?

Let me tell you something, NFL games are fueled by mob mentality in the worst way, its ABSOLUTELY NO place for women or children especially if you're not rolling 6-10 guys deep, and you're ready to kill...not fight, kill.

You're either really really really really dumb, or just plain crazy. Either way, I think you got off easy.

  13.:wallbash::wallbash: Well ... I keep praying for the preseason to really arrive!!

I cannot believe ... well, wait a second, yes I can ... that someone would think we are now going back to the scrapheap to pick up another quarterback when none of the four we have has seen real action under our new regime. Thigpen is not our answer and will not ever be in a Bills' uniform unless disaster hits us again and all four of our current QB's get injured in preseason, which is highly unlikely since the previous "strength and conditioning" group is long gone.

As for our QB choices for this season ... Gailey brings opportunity for each in a way that they haven't experienced.

    1. Edwards - When we went 5-0 before the Arizona game we had crowned him as something special. After his concussion it was clear that he fell under the 'keep it safe' philosophy of Jauron. The never look for the deep routes was part of Coach Dick's plan to 'not try to lose a game' and we will soon discover whether the dump off's were Edwards or Jauron's way of doing things. The ball is in Edwards' court to show that he can be that QB we all loved. As for his wobble ... all of them throw wobblers and having watched McNabb down here in Jersey for years I can tell you that his passes wobbled and were underthrown but still got the job done.

    2. Brohm - Yes, I am one of those who was impressed by him in college and wondered why he didn't succeed at GB but everyone needs to get their facts straigh about "Green Bay not wanting him" because they matched the Bills' offer in an attempt to keep him but Brohm picked Buffalo. All reviews seem to indicate that his issue has been confidence but that he has the arm and smarts to play QB. If Gailey could turn Thigpen into something special then there is a chance that he can do the same for Brohm who has benefited from being in all of the camps!

    3. Fitz - Ok, if Fitz had been born with a good or great arm then he'd be a superstud QB!! This guy has the leadership qualities that everyone wants plus the guts to try to get what is not being given to him. His arm will never be close to Edwards' or Brohm's but in Gailey system of using the run to win and with our RB's ... a QB like Fitz just might be able to be a winner.

    4. Levi - What a totally ridiculous comment that he is a blocking dummy ... to me that might qualify as the most inane posting of the month (it's probably from someone who saw Brown get his butt kicked by Ohio State ... haha or who has checked out his Madden ratings). Late round draft picks have been known to become quality pro QB's ... I won't name them all but I think we all know one or two. It's pretty clear that this is not going to be his year to compete for the starting job but then again ... he is smart, has leadership qualities, and a decent arm ... we might be surprised.

I can't wait for the real camp to get started ... and to see our new BILLS in action trying to win rather than doing whatever to try not to lose sort of ....

    :pirate:

    GO BILLS

I agree with all of this..

But I would be willing to bet a years salary Levi never see's regular season action....think about it, play the odds on that bet.

Im simply tired of hearing from dreamers that he's going to challenge a starting spot for this team...as horrific as they are.
