...HARD pass.....as much as I can't stand him, Neon Deon called him a wuss on NFLN right before the start of the 2017 playoffs...said he became timid and tentative about hitting the hole, etc.....said he was nothing like when he first hit the NFL ranks.....sure looks like he was right.......

Neon would definitely know what to look for regarding players being afraid to hit ...

Huh? It’s not a consipieacy theory. It was reported as part of spygate. His helmet mic never shut off inside 15”/ at the LoS. Doug Flutie mentioned that it surprised him when he accidentally grabbed Toms helmet one game.

Tom Brady has always been good at seeing the field, but his learning curve was very different from every other QB in the league. There’s a very real argument to be made that he is exponentially better at it because of his “upbringing”.

There is 100 links to this story from reputable sources, but I’ll drop one.

    https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/from-cheating-claims-to-trash-talking-steelers-patriots-rivalry-full-of-bad-blood/

Real world example. You graduate from UNC with your MBA. Very good program, but it’s no Chicago, Harvard, or Wharton. You do well. You’re not top of your class but in the 5-10 range.

You get a mid level job with a few of your fellow graduates at Amazon in some mid level supply chain role. You perform well on a few early projects. Bezos takes a liking to you. In fact, makes you the President and CEO. Except while you’re taking over the company, Bezos isn’t just a mentor to bounce ideas off. He’s proof reading all your emails, providing reports and financials, telling you how to handle your PNL’s, and what companies to acquire. Amazon keeps growing. Bezos disappears over some insider trading aligations. But you maintain your position as CEO and President. You do a fine job continuing to grow the company.

Would you be the same President and CEO of you hadn’t had Bezos controlling your every business move for those years?

Thats Tom Brady. Promising, talented, driven, but with an advantage when it comes to learning on the job that created who he is today.

He is the GOAT, hands down, not close. I just question how he got there.

Deflate gate was dumb BTW. I’m more upset by the underhandedness more than I am the result of the act. If you want to try and sneak by the refs when they check. Whatever. But if don’t systematically pull a fast one.

Deflate gate was dumb, but I said at that time that the deflating of balls was probably more likely to be the distraction than the real infraction.

During the first game against the Patriots this year I was furious about Edelman calling for a fair catch and then launching at our gunner's head. I thought that was a very easy penalty call, and I was happy when he was fined for that.

In this most recent game I was watching for any dirty plays. And, to be honest, I didn't see any. There was 1 play where he called for a fair catch and then blocked our gunner, but he didn't target the head or put much force into it. I didn't think that deserved a penalty, let alone a fine.

I have to say I'm happy to see the league targeting Edelman. They must've had a conversation with him and told him to knock it off (and he hasn't gotten the message).

Calling for a fair catch and then blocking is, by definition, a penalty. It doesn’t matter if it is a rough hit or not. It is an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, not unnecessary roughness.

Quote from article "Patriots coach Bill Belichick said the team has never coached players to tackle with the crown of their helmet because it’s ineffective, and that the rule change won’t affect the way the New England coaching staff handles its business."

Right ... but this wasn't tackling, this was part of the intimidation process

    https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/09/06/new-nfl-helmet-lowering-rule-changes-explained

Quote from article "Plays subject to ejection include when a player has an "unobstructed path" to his opponent or "contact was clearly avoidable," but the player chose to lower his head and use his helmet."

Blocking a player after a fair catch, immediately being "Unsportsmanlike Conduct" (not unnecessary roughness as PatsFanNH likes to keep saying incorrectly) would seem to be the perfect example of the wording of the rule from the SI article ... unobstructed path & contact was clearly unavoidable. Yes, PatsFanNH, he was called for one penalty. He should have been called for both (to include unnecessary roughness) and immediately ejected because of the obvious way in which his actions followed precisely how the rule was written.

Game didn't actually go to OT. Parrish muffed a punt inside our own 20 yard line with under 2 minutes left and Cleveland ran the clock down and kicked a FG with seconds remaining. Either way, a sad sad sad game.

Inside our own five ... I was sitting in the tunnel end zone when he did that in front of me. The only consolation for seeing that game was going to be the bonus football of OT. Parrish stole our last bit of joy that day when he muffed that punt that he should have never touched.

  6. On the other hand (and other rule), there were several non-calls on "lowering the helmet" that could/should have been called last night (mainly on the Steelers). If there was a place to eject someone ... LB Bostic could/should have been for his helmet hit on Fitz when Fitz slid early on. He was flagged for a late hit, but IIRC there was no mention of lowering the helmet. Late hit + helmet targetting head should equal ejection. Pittsburgh doesn't win last night without the plays that Bostic made later on.

NFL can't figure out a lot of its new rules.

Every fan is invested in that team emotionally, and what it means to the community is priceless. We have every right to know who's running it. Nobody ever really asked and I'm not one to look the other way just because you kept the team in Buffalo. When a developer wants to build a park, he needs the permission of the associations around it. They have the right to ask questions. Why can't we? Why should we be cool with some billionaire treating the team we love like his own personal toy, putting his wife in charge, and not telling us anything?

I personally believe the Buffalo Bills belong to the fans 100%. I believe the team should be publicly owned.

As for sexist, think of it more as nepotism.

"I'm curious to know what kind of people they and their families were back in the day."

What do you really want to know? Kim's qualifications? Or who they are as people?

Again, great people, great family, and I know for sure that her brother and father have always bled Bills' red white and blue.

  8. Just like adjusting stats to compare players from different eras ... we may need to understand that the nature of polarization has increased exponentially over the past two decades or so. With the evolution of message boards and the constant barrage of media reports about players and circumstances, it would appear at first glance that the most polarizing figures are also the most recent. However, I would argue that the angst caused by some players in previous generations would create full-scale fan combat in our current cultural climate. For what it's worth, there's almost no way to create a top 10 list, let alone a top 5. Simply creating the list causes polarization ...
