  1. some of that probably led to drafting Tenuta, his pro day was very different than his combine. That said, passing on Wydermyer and leaving him as a priority FA was the right move because for him It’s a desirable opportunity to earn a wide-open TE3 spot on one of the league’s best teams. Sweeney has fallen pretty flat on the chances he’s been given.
  2. It should be every American’s privilege to send their kids to fight and die for the right of Ukrainian companies to have all the democracy they need to appoint the kids and pals of American political leaders to their boards and wire them millions of dollars. Just like the last n-1 wars. Who could possibly object to this noble goal? Screw you Cucker Tarlson.
  3. For the Right, speech = violence. For the Left, violence = speech.
  4. That’s recycling Marv “Boomer” Bateman. Nope.
  5. It’s mitigated by the different footed-ness of the kickers, unless someone is on the roster who can adequately hold for the lefty. It’s an emergency thing but probably won’t be a big consideration post-covid.
  6. Last year, a bad punter did indeed hurt them, probably cost them home field, maybe even a championship. Hence the draft pick. I'm going to take a little solace in what Beane said about competition, and while it might be boilerplate, and necessary to say it, I think between the lines Beane and McD know what cost them last year and where they need to improve and they've been doing exactly that: from coaching (OL, ST) to pass rush (#40) to cornerback (1st rounder). Except of course Edmunds
  7. I like Beane but I'm going to disagree with him here and paraphrase Bill Parcells: Haack is exactly what his record was last season. The weather was crap in most games but that's part of being a punter in Buffalo. He doesn't get 8 games in South Florida any more. He also turned the tide of the Steeler game for a loss and did his damnedest to lose the Jets game. That video above still shows Araiza working on hang time and he's got it. Looks good. Directionally, looks good. The 3-step is an issue, but the first step is a short one and should be coachable. Araiza's 3-step looks quicker than Haack's molasses steps anyway. The one scout said he was Bojorquez. That means 3 or 4 shanks a season. Haack did that in one game. I'd take a rookie who is currently at a Bojo level who is an athlete, coachable and a process guy, and on a rookie contract. It's like Bass and Hauschka (who was admittedly washed), the brass will account in the evaluation for potential, and contract, and term. Haack has a high high hill to climb - he doesn't need to be better than last year to win the job, he needs to be much better than he ever has been, or Araiza has to go full Gary Andersen.
  8. James won’t be a lead back or a bell cow but what differentiates him from 90% of backs is that he is not limited in the passing game to “release and present numbers” routes. Most of what Georgia did with him looks like what the Saints do with Kamara - most of the time. Run him on quick hitters, or have him release to the flat as an outlet. (That may have something to do with QB limitations too) But once in a while, they’ll use ‘em in a place that you don’t see RBs pre-snap, like wide on the boundary. Each of those guys can run routes like receivers, track the ball like receivers, catch like receivers. That’s the X-factor with Cook or Kamara. You leave them isolated on a LB at the boundary, that’s a tremendous mismatch, unlike, say, Patrick DiMarco on a wheel route. I was a proponent of Cook in the 3rd or 4th pre-draft, I hoped for Andersen in the 2nd and Cook in the 3rd as the draft developed, but I’m not going to be put off of what I saw as Cook’s possibilities in this offense due to a perceived reach on draft value.
  9. "The other side is evil and has a lot of klucktoples, kleppo, kleptocracies. The only thing that makes sense for us to do to combat evil politicians who steal stuff from people, is to steal stuff from different people." Refer to Rule 1: It's ok when we do it.
  10. I would imagine he's riffing on this. Welcome to 2022.
  11. You know how Allen running the ball gives the Bills an extra blocker? Araiza punting the ball gives the Bills an extra coverage man.
  12. Assuming it's the Texas kid Kerstetter. Looks like this is extremely Billsy type guy; has played T and G, listed as a C, so will have position flexibility to backup on the interior at least. 9 3/4 hands though?
  13. Point taken, but that reel showed more in the way of penetration than anchor, which lends more to what is asked from 3T as a disruptor. Harry had the strength and anchor but didn't have that kind of twitch to win off the snap that often or get small through the gap, diagnose and track sharply. So primarily 1T. Pat Williams did his damage shooting the A gap that way, and I wouldn't consider him a true 3T. He was just quick off the snap, and big, and strong, and could destroy the inside gaps. It's a stretch to take a dozen plays and project the guy to begin with but it's a first impression.
  14. His build seems similar to Oliver, 6'2" 300 is probably not stout enough for 1T and looks like he has the get-off to be a one-gap disruptor, at least on the highlights. May not be room on the 53, the DL is pretty stacked.
  15. It's an impressive change of direction once he gets past the line of scrimmage. Reminds me of Pat Williams as a UDFA in preseason just annihilating 2's and 3's playing as a one-gap tackle.
  16. He's gotta be 1 or 2 out of 1683 RAS on that mullet. Also, someone needs to wear Bill & Ted's favorite number.
  17. The Revolution will not be televised. Mostly because NFL Network always cuts to commercial right before The Revolution.
  18. Does anyone think Araiza, as a PK in addition to punter, would have additional insight/rapport into what a kicker would want from a holder?
  19. Could this pick actually encourage the Bills to punt on 3rd down?
  20. Haack had several of his punts against the Jets partially blocked by nitrogen molecules.
  21. Reliable worker-bee cheerleader who rahs with impressive instincts and fundamentals that keep her in position and near the action. Spector is an average athlete with average size, but she struggles to attack and unglue from jocks on a consistent enough basis. She's an excellent finisher when facing down runners in the hole, but average length and agility drop her finishing rate substantially when she's forced to tackle on the move. Spector is rock solid, but won't cheer beyond what is expected. She has backup value as an inside stacker for 4-3 Pyramid. Strengths Instinctive and in position most of the time. Cheers with excellent fundamentals. Rapid-fire diagnosis and reaction to play situation. Leverages her scrape with speed alterations in her slides. Quickness to flow and contain the outside run. Comes to balance and tackles with double leg wrap-ups. Former waitress with smooth drops and weaves in zone. Target awareness allows for tighter squeeze of the route. Weaknesses Lean through her lower half. Won't be a disruptive defender. Gets jostled around by box traffic. Lacks ideal length/strength to stack and shed the jock. Needs to become more comfortable playing downhill. Below-average tackler when it's not in front of her. Range in coverage is very average. Lacks twitch to burst and disrupt at the catch point.
  22. Hot motor has a stuck thermostat. That's not a good thing. Yeah, there's some puzzling picks for the Bills. TC will have to give some answers as to where some of these guys are being projected, will Tenute get reps at G, or Benford at S, or Bernard at S, or Araiza at S...
  23. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/baylon-spector/32005350-4515-9114-fba7-7065114ee5c1 Generally regarded as having some good traits but poor diagnosis ability, so here's your backup at Mike I'm surprised he wasn't drafted by the Chiefs, they could really use a Bail Inspector... try the veal.
  24. And finally at 231, it's... LB Baylon Spector? Is that a stage name?
