Every time I see that I’m reminded the Browns got #25 and #4 overall the following year for trading with the Texans to allow them to select Watson. Two picks after the Bills bit on the Chiefs offer and got #27 and #23 the following year. I wish I could find out if the Bills have already won the SB in that alternate universe where they were able to sit at #4 and take Allen, and keep all the depth picks. And somehow both the Browns and Texans, despite feeding each other premium picks, remain something of a two-team ouroboros.

I don’t want to judge people being emotional. I mean I got teary-eyed at the end of Ol Yeller. I’m sure football players get emotional when Cleveland drafts or trades for them.

If they run more 2 TE sets I’d prefer a TE2 who is good at any one of: blocking, catching, or route running. Which Sweeney is not.

Gilliam is multiple with a blocking gadget role inline/H-back/fullback that others can’t replicate (looking at you Tommy Sweeney).

Don’t see moving on from either Beane or McD this decade, they’ve earned a ton of slack, but for crying out loud get a 16-year-old Madden player to delegate the game management decisions. McD made massive mistakes last season that were the margins in the key losses. The 21 Bills were a 15-win SB champ with even average situational decision making.

How about Das Boot? The x-factor to me is if his college-style low Cruise missile kicks can rip through during the crazy wind games at OP. It’s the analogue of Allen’s arm. Low hang time but just pounded on a spiral. Does the returner get a chance to field it? sure, but under those conditions you WANT them to try to catch it.

No offense but that feels like post-draft afterglow. He doesn’t seem the body type for a 3-down all-day type. But what he does have is some WR capability from the RB position, just as Shakir claims to have RB capabilities from the WR position. If this is what Dorsey requested from Beane (and the Howard signing and McKissic pursuit seems to bolster that) then that’s a bunch of guys with position flex to potentially allow the same players to run multiple personnel groupings. That would drive defenses nuts, and force them to play base rather than personnel specific schemes. Allen would kill that with fire like the first month of 2020.
