  1. The fact that maybe he can play just as good but probably better alongside a starting LT that was CUT by another team. The fact that he could maybe be better than a waste of space G Bennie Anderson that was awful in Baltimore. The fact that maybe, just maybe he could help us win football games. I'm sure he is still better than 4 of our 5 lineman up front now. The chance that maybe he could turn his "Mike Williams pre-2004 like" bad attitude around just like Big Mike did. Oh, I don't know, to me, when your line sucks ass, it wouldn't hurt to give a guy like that a chance. I hear ya on the piss poor attitude thing, but we have no idea how good he was with the Browns. That team was god awful last year. After all, what made the cut/castoff Gandy so special of a pickup?
  2. And did we ever use all of our cap room? I think the answer is no in both cases. But ah, who the hell cares, we don't need him right?
  3. I cleaned up last night. I had 5 teasers with the first half of the tease already won from the weekend of college football and pro football games. Check this out.....teasing this weekend, I had Michigan at plus 8 1/2, Redskins at -6, Minnesota Vikings at plus 8 1/2, Pittsburgh Steelers at plus 7, and the Bears plus 4....all open first half of the tease winners, and all coupled with the Falcons AT PICK vs. the Jets. Ummmmmm, big prizes (lol) to me. Decided to take out the monetary figure since I play for entertainment purposes only of course. I loved it. God bless Vinny.
  4. I was actually trying to find the UC Davis line. I remember reading that in the Pittsburgh papers because Walt Harris is at Standford now. They might not have had a line for that game though. Sometimes 1-AA teams vs. BCS conference teams stay off the board.
  5. Yeah. I'm gonna guess that a MAC school or someone like that probably upset a Big Ten team in which they were huge underdogs. It has to be something like that.
  6. Cool. I'm thinking the biggest NFL Spread itself was a Niners game in which one team was (most likely the 49'ers) favored by 18 1/2. Still want to really know the biggest underdog to actually win the game outright. But that Houston game is interesting to say the least. Someone has to have the information somewhere. I'm guessing the Vegas books keep stats on these types of things.
  7. Nice, that's gotta be the close to the biggest upset in the NFL game. Because all they could remember, by guessing, in the NFL was the Niners a few years back. I can't even remember the game, or if the Niners were favored or underdogs. You may have the NFL winner. I'm really curious to know the college football winner though. There had to be a team underdog by about 30 or 40 I bet that actually won a game.
  8. the largest underdog (point spread wise for betting purposes) to actually win a game outright in college and pro football? Someone called in and wanted to know. It also made me curious. I'm not even sure where you could even look up something like that. But I bet a team had to be an underdog by 30 plus in college. NFL, maybe 15 or 16 or something. Anybody, anybody?
  9. Jets will be on Monday Night Football next year? 3? 3 and 2 Sunday nighters? How many? I'm sure they'll get their share.
  10. I agree with this also. However, as much as I so over the Tom Donahoe era, I still think he's done a more than credible job in selling the Bills the the region. But you're right, I don't think he could let anyone do a job under him as a GM. When this trainwreck of a season is over, it will be interesting to see how secure Donahoe's job really is.
  11. Nice. I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Especially with the 1,000 yard rusher thing. What a joke. I would love to have a crack at Donahoe in a town hall meeting type setting in the fieldhouse. I'd pay $100 a ticket to get into that.
  12. Exactly right. I look at where our roster is right now, and realize that we are a mess. TD would a GREAT marketing director. He sells the team well to the public, and all of that. As a matter of fact, he'd be a great team president / VP, just hire a new GM to work under him. He does the business end of running a NFL team great, but his GM'ing skills are leaving a lot to be desired. You're post is exactly on, and it pisses off all of the homers because they can't refute anymore other than trying to trivialize your existance on why you think that way. Nice post!
  13. Is it hard to strike a nerd the last five years of the TD regime? Actually, most of believed in the regime for the first three, and then realized we are going nowhere fast.
  14. LMAO.....it all depends on who you offend B-Dawg. Offend, or really argue a difference of opinion with a moderator who has erasing power and you'll be toast. Just try to relax. We're all here for the same cause B-Dawg, but alot of people love it in mediocrity, and hate when a lot of us point it out to them. It won't be long before you'll be accused of jumping off of the bandwagon, or not being a real Bills fan. Or, they'll call you a moron because "it's only pre-season." Or no matter what QB they bring in, he'll have unreal potential, I.E. RJ and JP (Hopefully he actually does) But hang in there.....if only these same people would hold our GM to the same amount scrutiny. Someday when Donahoe and gang are outta here, we'll return to the playoffs more than zero times in 5 years, and everyone will get along because there won't be as much to B word about.......well, other than a group of people who actually use curse words in the crowd at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Imagine that at a football game. But hey, don't get on the GM cuz he really sells alot more jerseys than John Butler, so he's just so awesome.
  15. Oh I don't know.....let's see, what's the worst we could do....hire someone to come in and work for 5 years and not make the playoffs once? Because that would be his standard to go by. Someone to come in and have a horrible record against teams over .500? Someone to come in and have an even worse record vs. sub .500 teams as well as good teams on the road? Seriously, gimmie anyone. I'm ready for the football team to go in a totally different direction with JP as the QB, and Willis and Lee as the initial skilled people. With this team failing, and the defense getting old, TD will have to remold for the third time in 6 yrs soon. That simply doesn't cut it in my book. And you never know about Charlie Weis until you actually inquire.
  16. I'm thinking you might be thinking of T Kris Farris. Yet another from the Steeler reject pile. I'm thinking this was from the TD-GW era. But hey, TD is alright, after all, we are selling more jerseys now than when John Butler was here.
  17. I have to quit replying to your posts. Seriously, and it will make you happy anyway so no big deal. You're one of the biggest, clueless homers there are out there. Your comments here speak for themselves on alot of this stuff. I seriously stopped reading this after your Milloy and Vincent replies. To even defend anything that Milloy or Vincent did today says it all. Vincent is seriously afraid of contact. No doubting the fact that he ran alongside or away from contact today. I didn't want Milloy to have 1, 2, 3, 12, 15, or 25 tackles.....I didn't want him to miss a TON of tackles today like he did. He was awful. They were awful. Most teams don't get pressure from their front four in today's game? Even if that is true, which it isn't totally true, WE DON'T GET ANY. Period. That's where this blitzing so much crap derived from. But, we are the only attacking defense that I've actually seen that plays so fuggin far off of the opposing WR's constantly. It baffles me. But the whole blitzing so much schemes, I would bet my house on, have come from our inability to apply pressure up front. Any kind of pressure at all. I employ a blitzing style of defense when I coach, and you usually pressure opposing teams WR's within the theory that the pass rush will get there quick enough that the CB's don't have to be perfect in coverages. Now, mix that with the self proclaimed "best CB in the league" Nate Clements and an improving McGee....why the hell are we not pressing WR's more? According to all of you geniuses on the board, Nate should be able to blanket one WR, while McGee covers the other with Vincent helping out over the top. Doesn't happen. Gray sat there today, playing off of the Raider WR's all fuggin day, and didn't adjust. God, I just had to read more, because most of your comments boggle my mind. And a TON of Steeler fans hated Donahoe. More than 50%. It was a divided city. Either you liked Cowher or Donahoe. Period. There are a TON of Steeler fans that hated TD. Thought he was an ego-maniac. That he couldn't take Cowher's popularity. There are a TON that hated Mularkey's play calling in Pittsburgh. And to end that point.......which one got the boot? And are the Steelers a better football team without him? LMAO, the answers are Donahoe got booted, and the Steelers haven't looked back yet. I seriously loved when we got Donahoe, and argued with Steeler fans that we stole him. LOL, I'm also reminded of it every friggin weekend with numerous calls to my phone every Sunday, including last year's last game. And yes, to an extent I am convinced I am a good football mind. I would love to coach against you. Anytime, anyday. Problem is, I am actually on a football field after school everyday (now 7-0 and ranked 7th in the state), while you critique anyone who has anything to say about a less than stellar FOOTBALL TEAM (and going on five years now) on a message board. These have been the hardest Bills teams to actually like the last few years in a long long time, because we all expected alot from them. With all of the names on the back of our jerseys, they are starting to remind me of the New York Rangers hockey teams. Paper Champs. You're a great fan. Seriously. If I was a failing GM, you are what I would dream of. My dream would consist of 50,000 people like you who keep me in charge, depsite failing at my job, until it's so bad, a change has to be made. Seriously Simon, step away from the Kool-Aid pitcher, it's ok to expect more than a mediocre football team, at best, from a guy who's had the job for 5 years. It won't make you look bad, just like someone who isn't a "company line" lemming. I'm done in this thread, which I know makes you happy. But if I was TD, you'd be on my Christmas list every year...you are the stuff dreams are made of for bad GM'ing. So long for this thread for me, I'm gonna go dream of Charlie Weis coaching this team against what would have been his old New England team next week. If only he wasn't so damn arrogant in his interview scheduling. After all, who cares if knows anything about football, right TD?
  18. LMAO, oh oh oh, that doesn't resemble our 2004 schedule. Anyone see a run coming at the end of this year?
  19. Lawyer Milloy was the worst player on the field today period. No wait, I'll give that honor to Troy Vincent. At least Lawyer tried to hit someone and just whiffed all day. Troy Vincent ran from contact all day.
  20. I'm not sure what you watch when we play a team over .500, but yes, this roster is a mess. Troy Vincent is done. Period. Today, he was afraid of contact. Lawyer Milloy is overpaid. He is supposedly a run stopping S. He misses more tackles against good teams then anyone I've seen play in a Bills uniform in a while. Nate Clements is way over-rated by Bills homers, ALTHOUGH, he is a solid CB. McGee is our most exciting player on this team period. As for Spikes, who doesn't love him? However, if his is 80% of what he was next year after an injury like that, it will be a miracle. Fletcher is OK at MLB. Posey sucks. He has no speed, no agility, but could be replaced by Crowell. Our defensive front is awful. They generate no pressure without us blitzing. You can talk all you want about Schobel and Denney and whoever the hell else we have, but they are bad. Period. I'm actually one of the few that likes how Sam Adams plays. But, in my estimation, Milloy, Vincent, Posey, and three DL'men should be gone. Spikes most likely will never be as good as he was. And they are gettting OLD as a group. A mess, hell yes they are. Let's not even touch our worthless TE's or a bad O-Line. How about a 2nd WR when Moulds is gone? The roster is a mess. If you think this team is better than we were 5 years ago, you're dreaming. Better in terms of winning a game against the 2001 team...yeah. Better in terms of how this roster is formed? No way. TD has failed in building this team in it's current design. Every part of the teams game has failed against any team with a clue. To bad we can't play sub .500 teams at home every week. Am I eager to get rid of TD? You bet your ass I am. Just like everyone in Pittsburgh was ready to can him. Just like everyone in Pittsburgh laughed when we got Mularkey and Clements also. I know that for a fact, cuz I'm from Pittsburgh, and I thought we got a steal at the time. Now, I'm ready for him to be outta town. This team has you fooled. Our staff and this group of players has had it handed to them against almost every team that they have played that is over .500. And on the road, the teams aren't even .500 who have throttled us. This is sickening. I have ZERO faith the Bills can win any game on the road. Little faith that they can beat someone with clue at home. And no faith in this staff to outcoach anyone except maybe Mike Martz.
  21. 2004 Schedule, 2004 Schedule, 2004 Schedule. And then a GM that had the vision to say a 9-7 team that played a soft schedule, could lose a good DT, it's best O-lineman, and start a rookie QB without signing any significant help. Great plan. How long does TD get?
