All of WNY has fallen in love with the Sabres, and their style of hockey and blue collar attitude represent everything that is great about living here. If the Sabres win the cup this year, there will be one heck of a party on Chip. But if the Bills ever win a Super Bowl, the whole city will shut down for an entire freaking week. It would be the biggest thing to happen to WNY, probably ever.

He was a FB in college at Texas Tech. He was on our roster as a FB, but actually played HB.

(I still hate him though)

I really hope that Tom Brady gets broken into several pieces and placedon IR for the rest of the season.

Nate does lead the team in missed tackles and passes not intercepted, and most horrible public access quality show on TV, so they have something to shoot for. -

Wow, that P.O.S. Billick gave Fassel the axe today
ACor58 replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McNair and Grbac were sucessful for their previous teams. What I was getting at was that maybe instead of 7 QBs being the problem (I forgot about Dilfer) maybe Billick is the problem. -

I agree that we had more glaring needs other than QB and that the staff had not had a chance to fully evaluate Losman yet, and that weighed heavily in their decision. But you have to remember what we gave up in draft picks to acquire JP are a sunk cost and shouldn't considered when passing on a QB like Leinart or Cutler. (It's like having the chance to buy a Ferrari for the price of a Mustang, but saying no because you already spent your money 2 years ago on a Honda Fit.) -

I think that Billick is looking over his shoulder and he sees an axe. Once again, he has a dominant defense and a terrible offense. He has a pro bowl QB (McNair), WR (Mason), RB (Lewis), TE (Heap) and another first round pick at WR (Clayton) and another 1,000 yd rusher in Anderson, yet his offense continues to suck. The Ravens would be undefeated if their offense were even average, but if they do not win the Super Bowl it is his fault. I think it is funny that the one guy that actually took the team to the Super Bowl Trent Dilfer, got thrown out to the curb. -
When does Ozzie Newsome realize that Billick is the problem. He has now had McNair, Boller, Grbac, Redmond, Wright, and Banks all fail in his system. If the team did not have the defense that it has for all of these years, he would have been run a long time ago. My guess is that Billick is on the hot seat and he knew that it would be easy to replace him with Fassel is he was already on staff. Might as well scapegoat him instead. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ...ssel/index.html

Trust me, my fingers hurt from typing that about Tammy Brady, but I have come to realize that hating Tom Brady is like a Sox fan hating Derek Jeter , it is easy to do when he kicks your ass every year. I would just like to give Leinart the benefit of the doubt, at least until he throws a couple of rainbows. Last night he was able to squeeze the ball into some tight spaces, especially on third down, with some velocity. I love JPs arm, but he also doesn't have the best grip on the football, which causes him to short-hop his intermediate throws and sail the short ones (how many times has he missed a RB in the flat and almost get Willis killed). It also causes him to throw the occasional duck (like the one that got picked off against the Jets, or the one last week that he "threw away" but landed in front of Evans.), and will cause him to fumble when being sacked from behind. This, to me, will always be a concern with JP. -
I didn't expect the team to have a winning record this year and as long as they were competitive I wouldn't care. What frustrates the hell out of me is that we have one of the worst offensive lines in football and other then Peters (who, at this point is slightly above average) there is not any indication that the line will be better next year, or even the year after that. All that says to me is that we will be rebuilding for many years to come, and probably go ten years from our last playoff appearance before we reach the playoffs again. For all of the good things that Ralph has done, how can we forget the bad? He ran Polian out of town and what did he do? He built the Panthers and the Colts into winners. He ran Butler and Smith out of town and what did they do? They turned the Chargers into winners. Our last draft appeared to be a step in the right direction, but 10 years is an awfully long time to be rebuilding a franchise, and that is what has created so much frustration for many of us.

Bills didn't play that bad

If Mike Martz was not calling the plays we would not have even had a shot to win that game. Kitna threw the INT to Simpson and the one that Whitner had that was ruled a trap, and both times they should have been running. If he continued to pound the ball on our defense Kevin Jones would have rushed for 200 yards and our offense wouldn't have even sniffed the field in the second half. -
Confirmed Fez, the game will be on INHD (carrying the versus crew) tonight.

I haven't seen any indication that his arm is week. It surely isn't as strong as Losman's but I don't think that it is weak. I also don't think that Arizona's OL is any better than ours. Leinart was under pressure all night, but managed to get rid of the ball quickly. He also showed the ability to roll out and avoid the rush. Tom Brady does not have as stong as an arm as Losman and he has not had any problem throwing the ball here or in Foxboro. Even Chad Pennington has had some success here. -

I think you are being a little hard on him Ramius. I know that he has only played in two games but ask yourself one question, who would you rather have? J.P. Losman or Matt Leinart. -
Totally agree with you there. It is my favorite new show. Though I was ticked off that they made us wait until tonight to see the game and the Sabres are on.

Did you see that? What sets him apart from J.P.? Did you see how quickly he goes through his reads and passes the ball? I am not annointing him the savior yet, but he can play.
